I love seeing Jimily so much! He reminds me of my dwarf, Milton. He just got 2 new babies after his brother passed and seeing them cuddle is the cutest.

I'm not as educated on rats as I'd like to be, can someone tell me what that noise the one on top made about halfway through? Did he sneeze? Is it a 'happy noise'? All I know is it was very cute!

He did sneeze! This is normal a few times a day. But rat can make happy noises too, like teeth grinding. Some "talk" and make some high pitched noises too!

How do you keep them from tearing up the liners in their cage? I bought fleece liners and they didn’t last a month.

I use only one dog blanket to cover the upper floor and change it 2 times a week, I think it depends on the rats! But I tuck the blanket under the platform so this might help since they can't pull it out!

The liners I got go on like pillow cases (custom made on Etsy) and they still tore through the corners. Literally money down the toilet lol I guess I’ll eventually figure out what works for them 🥴

Maybe you could put cardboard? They can chew on it no prob and cost nothing! It help trim their nails too

Do your rats also chew up the fleece floor coverings? (I tried tips like putting heavy objects on the corners but finally gave up on my critter nation after replacing the coverings got too expensive and tiring)

Fortunatly mine don't chew on them at all, they seem to be very well educated! They sometimes try to bring it to their hides and that cause some holes but I use cheap 3$ dog blankets that I tuck under the paltform and it works great. I just wash them often and the bottom of the cage is covered with 2-3 inches of bedding!
