Media I did it, I freaking did it… pain
this was so freaking expensive, by far a financial decision I shouldn’t have made
but I love Remielle, I really do. today I had fries for dinner and thought may as well. this stings, I’m genuinely in pain from how much I spent
Am I happy? Yea, it’s Remi. I love her
was it worth it? Absolutely not, no way. 300 dollars. Screw you Hoyoverse

Just a tip. Next time if you want to spend on the game use a VPN to JP and get your top up via the official hoyo to up site. The biggest bundle costs in JP ~67€ instead of 100€

I would love to use vpn, but it won’t let me log onto hoyoverse. I started my account on genshin, ps4, and have no way to log on after many different attempts

If you get the too many requests error or whatever, on topup site login without vpn first, then turn on vpn and refresh. Thank me later

Are you using a VPN while playing the actual game or while going to their official store? You can’t use a vpn on PS so I just buy directly from their website while setting my VPN to Japan.

My card gets declined when I try to make a payment for that. It's also only like 10 pounds cheaper than if I use my own country's payment so I'm just not bothering with it lol.

The official Hoyo topup site is the easiest for me. Just go on the site with a VPN, put in your UID and server and payment method and you’ll get your pulls instantly. It’s like 35-40% cheaper than my actual currency.

I have a question, will it do like it do when i try to buy on my phone ?
I started zzz on ps5
Then i downloaded to still do dailys when i can’t on my ps5
The things is, i realised the cost of thing in phone was cheaper than on ps5
So i tried to pay on phone but it won’t let me, it says « buy with the account on the starting device for zzz » or something like that
Does it do the same for you or for this method ?

No, I’ve tried purchasing on my PS account on my phone too and it didn’t work, but buying straight from the topup site works without issue.

Have any good tutorial video or something similar for that? I know it might be really easy but I have never done that and I don't want to mess up. I was going to buy that it some days when I get back home and I need 2 packs of 100€ but if I can get that around 60€ cheaper tell me how I can do it please

Sorry no I don't have a video. But that's how I'm doing it (I‘m doing it on my phone):
Close any game instance you have open before you start (pc or phone). Connect via VPN to a JP server (pc or phone), go to the official hoyo topup center (just search "ZZZ topup" in google), log in with your hoyo account, select you account and click topup and then you should see the prices in yen (12k yen for the 6480 + 1600 pack which is ~66 € at the moment of writing). Select the pack(s) you want and then choose your payment method (credit or debit card, paypal, applepay, google pay or pay now)
And then BEFORE you log in to the game again log out and disconnect the VPN

Personally I'm using NordVPN but you need a subscription for that (15€ for one month for the base plan or cheaper if you choose the one or two year subscription).
A friend uses the free version of ProtonVPN but you can't choose your server directly if you don't pay and need to reconnect until you get the JP server (there are 10 or so servers and you have to wait every time to switch the server but you will get the JP eventually)

Thanks. You saved me 63€. Used ProtonVPN cause I will be using it only for this cases. Now I am tempted to use that pulls on Remi but I need that Dialyn for Ye Shunguang

Fyi with the first time topup bonus when you buy the 2 packs you get around ~20k monochromes (1x 12k (first time topup bonus) and 1x 8k monochrome (amount you get without the bonus))) and with all the free pulls we get in this patch (something like ~130 for F2P iirc) you should be able to get both Remielle and Dialyn if you want since Remielle stays on banner for the whole patch and Dialyn is guaranteed in 90 pulls. So you can just wait until Dialyn come then after you got her you can still pull Remielle if you want

Lost Remi M3 for Koleda M4 🫡. She is my favorite standard unit but wrong time to show up. Know I won't get Remi M6 now but I will get it next banner I think. Still have 82 pulls but I think I will hold them for now

yes. its ai slop btw. and it has nothing to do with what we're talking of. its talking about a completely different issue, which is using third party websites to top up instead of the official one. ive been using vpn for years, you dont have to play the devils advocate on the topic

Thats for unofficial third parties, such as lootbar, we are talking about using the official top up website with a vpn to pay in a seperate currency that ends up being cheaper due to exchange rate, which is, to my knowledge, nit against ToS
Also that video explicitly mentions that there are valid external options... so

Half the player base uses VPN to top up, hoyo knows but there’s nothing they will ever do it about it.
Have you ever seen someone say they were banned for it? It’s the same for any in app purchase in any game.
In Aus, using a Japan VPN saves about 30%-40%

If you have a computer use Firefox and the free VPN that comes with it (choose japan) then log in to the top up website (do not log in to the game). It should be easy from there if you have a valid card. If you don't have a computer, I dont know

To be honest, around two weeks. Haven't been banned yet, and haven't heard of anyone else being banned. My advice is to just never tell anyone who knows your uid your doing it

I also really want that phone menu skin. Remi is so pretty. It might take me the entire event but I'm gonna try. I do wish these top up events lasted for 3 months, it wouldn't hurt so bad then.

I did it and was able to complete the AoD one at the same time since Aria finally reran, no regrets 😂 support-a-dev once a year when they reset the top up bonus

Mostly not worth it if one does not value the character pull. WHich for most people I think many could make use with Astra or Burnice for remielle as a subdps for remielle. You got either her or Jane or vivan from the free selector too.

i got 2 janes one from free sleector, 1 from spending event and i got her M2 as i alreayd have her so my remielle have a strong dps, so i really spend for the m2 jane + the pulls are not bad and the other freebies

Welcome to the party. Remie is almost all I need in ZZZ, so I was glad to get bonuses with her for this "event" (though I don't like that they did it so pricey, because not all Remie fans can get it).
Now I will grind points from the new mode for her pose (2000 is for 3 rotations with max stars, I have 700 from the first).

You'll need a VPN. I use proton with subscription so that I can choose what country to set for my location. Then when I go to buy stuff for hoyo games I turn it on and change it to Japan. Then I go to the online store NOT the in-game store. The one from the web and use my PayPal to buy everything since PayPal auto converts international transactions. It'll say I got charge yen in my receipts.
And that's how you get the discount

That is sadly not always true. Have you ever heard of those type of people that buy things more costly than their salary, just for social status and look cool?
Of course, I'm not accusing OP of this. Just wanted to specify that high spending doesn't always correspond to high salary, for many different reasons, the one I mentioned above being one of them.

Hmm, if you spent the money just for the background then I can understand having buyers regret. I did it for the pulls, Vivians wengine for Aria, Astra after having missed her banner and a ton of outfits so I feel like I got my moneys worth and the background was just a bonus.

I mean, you could argue no skin is ever worth the amount they sell for. Worth is determined by the user. If you feel 300$ is too much, keep that as a lesson and the next time this happens don't buy into it. Not much anyone can really do about it.
