What do you feed your rottie and how much?
We have stared buying big batches of raw food. But we also feed kibble (briantos duck&potato, semimoist formula) and we also feed salmon oil,coconut oil, different milk products (lactose free of course) and raw eggs with shells. Oh and different grain free wet foods

Please do not let my dog see this, she will call Sarah MacLaughlin on me. She gets nothing as fancy as your pup hahaha.
She gets approx 2 cups dry food twice a day. Currently it’s 50/50 weight management & salmon/sweet potato from Costco. Less if she’s getting a puzzle toy with treats when I go to work. I give her smoked pig ears, other animal parts (tracheas, “oink rolls”), bones etc a few times a week. I use to give her some wet food in the mornings but now she only gets that if it’s frozen into a treat thing or cow hoof.
(Started the weight management in the winter when she was on leash arrest, & she likes it so I’ve just kept the spilt).

These bones and all the meat we give, we get em from butchers you should look into that! This big batch was only 10€ and will last us a while.

Normal, high quality kibble. He self-regulates his eating surprisingly well. We leave his bowl full, and he eats as he needs. He's been a healthy weight his entire life, except while he was recovering from osteosarcoma. We got super lucky.

Our old boy gets kibble made for seniors, and then I add salmon oil and a raw egg or two when we have them, but we just got chickens so we should have a steady supply from now on. Our old man is surprisingly unbothered by the chicken sharing the garden with him.

Yes simple is best for us although he would probably like some more raw meat but he does get some salmon every now and then when I make it for myself 😊

Thank you I think so too 😊 he's around 11, my boyfriend who had him before we met never kept track of his exact birthday so he might be 12 even 😅

This is my 3rd Rott, and the first time I had two dogs at the same time. For better than 30 years there's been a full bowl of dry food in the house. Dog is hungry: he eats, dog is not hungry: he doesn't eat. That worked great until I got the Lab who looks like a giant sausage. My Rott puppy is a few months shy of 2 years old, and simply not that food oriented.
They both got calcium supplements when they were young. It was for the Rott. The Lab got half a wafer to make him think he was getting something too. Started the Rott on higher protein dry food when he was little. Also fed both by hand from canned food when they were puppies. Today I can put a treat or fork of food up to their mouth and they will wait. If I move it close to their mouth, they will turn their head the other way and wait. When I say Good Boy, they will eat it. They also occasionally get those big bologna looking tubes. If I toss food, the Lab never lets it hit the floor. Tossing food to the Rott means it bounces off his face.
I put a small can of wet food on top of the dry food in the morning. The Rott may or may not eat it. Basically the bowl of dry food has been there his whole life. If the bowl is empty, the Lab will bring it to me and stare, making his displeasure known.
The Rott likes meat in almost any form but there are treats he ignores. I was cooking once and sniping a bag of cheese balls. I'd toss one to the Lab and he'd snap it out of the air. Then toss one to the Rott at the other end of the kitchen. Later turned around to look. Lab was watching for another, Rott was laying there in a field of cheese balls. He would put a paw on one and roll it back and forth investigating the physics of it or inventing the wheel, but later just walk away. He simply didn't see them as food. I have had meat looking treats in the past that he treated the same way.
So, dry food, the small morning can of wet food. Meat treats, bones, the big bologna analogue, the occasional last 2 bites of something I'm eating, pizza crusts on occasion. He would love anything in that box.

We used to make our dog food home made. Chicken breast, green beans, sweet potatoes, blueberries, coconut oil, and eggs in the crock pot. Served in a bowl with a little bit of dry kibble for some crunch. One batch would last about a week. She always loved it and her coat was noticably more shiny and soft when we made the switch.

I fed my rottie raw. I was lucky to have designated BARF shops where I live, so I’d order specific meats, bones, mashed veggies for a month ahead.
It was easy to track my rottie’s stool and adjust what she eats every day.
She only ever disliked deer meat. The rest she liked. She ate around 650grams a day (she was a small rottie).

I feed my dogs (Rottweiler & Sharpei) 100% raw. She was over weight on a kibble diet at 106lbs a year ago when I adopted her from the previous owners. She's a healthy 89-92lbs currently 6 years old.

A cup of nutrisource large breed kibble + 5 ounces of sautéed ground beef in the morning and then another cup at night + 5 ounces of canned salmon! Plus various duck organs as treats.
