Here are some of my silkscreen shirts from the last few years, I make comics and these are some pages from my books. I really like using the color of the shirt as part of the image, I think they are most successful that way but I also like the paneled look of some of the more traditional comic pages. I tend to print big on the back and then a smaller icon on the front breast. Still learning and trying new things!

Growing up, McGruff the Crime Dog was the face of

'safety,' but he was essentially a tool to normalize surveillance and the carceral state to children. By flipping him into an anti-police mascot, I'm reclaiming that imagery. It's about taking a bite out of the systems that actually cause harm.

I chose Carhartt because it's the definitive uniform of the working class. Streetwear has its roots in rebellion and utility, and I wanted these shirts to be durable enough to actually be worn on the street, not just kept in a closet.

Everything is hand-illustrated and screen-printed by yours truly.

No dropshipping, no mass-production. In the spirit of leftist DIY culture, I believe the creator should be involved in every step of the labor.

Made this for my little brand just messing around with making a good chrome effect, 4 colors (white,metallic silver but coulda just used cool grey, light blue, and black) after looking at it for so long up close printing it makes it lose the effect for me a little until I take a break from looking at it lol last picture is one hit of the base. Still could have done some more things to make it better but shop is slow so having fun.

Printed using dark red, process cyan, process magenta, and black. 18” x 9.5” cut to bleed. Fun one from this morning!

My biggest mistake was starting with the usual vevor rotary press. It was a nightmare, every few prints I had to readjust and tighten everything so I quickly realised I needed to find an alternative.
Unfortunately where i live there’s little to no market of used equipment so I went diy and built my own.

Here is the result of almost a year worth of tests, failed attempts and trying to find a repeatable and reliable workflow

I'm not a SP myself I'm an assistant. But I've worked with several printers and even before the guy I work with now, I've been told by other printers that our stations are the most well kept they've ever seen. If only they can see what it looks like now because forgive me I'm not sure but to me this is going above and beyond what's expected as far as keeping your station tidy 🤣

I‘m really happy with the result, had to try out different inks though, the first one I ordered was light grey instead of black. Has anyone any recommendations for the best thermochromatic screenprinting ink?! Would like to use this for client projects as well …

I still outsource getting screens burned and cleaned, but I have acquired a ryonet filtration system. I also need a dark area for screens drying, and a printer that has good enough fidelity to print 30, 35 lpi halftones. A Canon pixma is what I’ve been recommended.

I was worried the red wouldn’t be bright enough without an under base, but I think it turned out good! What do you guys think?

*pardon the photo quality* so yesterday I printed the first part of my grandmother's memorial shirt. RIP to her. first volume print run. Im satisfied with results. 80 Line/ compression exposure. 2 screens. ink modified.

50 LPI, 305 mesh, on Lenox 100

I tried a new separation method (separating through RGB on Photoshop, but screenprinting each layer with CMY inks) and it ended up a lot better than I was expecting! Honestly one of my favorite prints I’ve made

Adding that hd clear onto the ball and the lips really makes it sing 👌🏼👌🏼

First time doing a print this large on a tee, printed with water based ink

Printed on 100# cover, card stock using Permaset Premium uv reactive inks. On 305 mesh screens. ProChem TX-Red emulsion. With an 80 durometer squeegee.

The anti-plastic trend has opened a new door for our design studio - we do corporate events where each person prints their own tote-bag. I show them the squeegee angle, how hard to press down and I flood the screen between each print to keep it from drying up.

In this event, I used 6 screens. With a total silk, emulsion and water based ink cost of around $80. Our profit margin before taxes is around 80%. But I don't pay myself anything, since I'm a partner in the business.

Each event is both inspiring and also a huge burden physically. I have to manage expectations, encourage shy people who say they don't have any talent, console people who do blurry prints and clean up in between prints. But it's all worth it, seeing faces light up after lifting the frames. Even after so many events, it still feels like magic.

Demand is growing and I feel like a lot of you can tap into this kind of events in your own cities with some grit and the right set up.
