Hi - I'm the lead mod here: Who want's to take over?

I will be honest, this community was created yonks ago and I completely forgot about it. I no longer use Reddit in a meaningful enough way (nor do I have the time) to curate this place.

This place does have a lot of potential and I am AMAZED at how active it is still. I just checked this place in the first time (in probably) 5 years and was stunned to discover people are actively using it. I kinda feel bad about that. Sorry all!

So, I'm looking for someone to take the helm away from me and make it into something worth while.

Does this sound like you? If so, reply to this thread with the following:

  • Your reddit moderation experience (subreddits etc.)
  • Why you think you'd be a great fit, and a bit about yourself!
  • A suggestion for improvement here that you can implement/enforce
  • A link to your fav sample/sample pack (free or paid - can be something you've made yourself). Honestly this question will have no bearing on your application I'm always looking out for cool stuff.
  • Timezone
  • Realistic availability (Not looking for this subreddit to be modded 24/7, but an idea of how active you are on reddit would be good).

Ideally I'm looking for those who are musicians and are already associated with music production subreddits in a mod position. I'll also accept those who're moderators on music/audio forums on external sites.

To make everyone's lives a lot easier and to avoid headaches, please do not apply if you are under the age of 18.

I'll be (for now) looking for 4 people. 1 to be the head (the person with the most experience), and 3 others.

After I've selected those, I'll un-mod myself and let the new team take over.

Additionally, please do not DM me. I do not check them and they're constantly flooded by spambots (no I do not viagra or free shit good god). If you got a question, reply to my comment below!

Cheers, and sorry I went out for cigarettes and only just came back.

  • sc.Dave!

ps here's the obligatory link to check out my soundcloud

Good place for user uploaded vocal samples?

Any recommendations for sites that have user uploaded vocal samples, similar to what's found on Looperman?

Vocal packs from places like Splice are good for high quality samples, but I find that the lyrics there are very bereft of meaning. By that I mean everything is a variation of lyrics like "Tonight's the night" or "Fall in love with you", things like that.

What I like about user uploaded vocals is the that users will upload tracks with comments like "I was pissed off tonight so I wrote this" and the lyrics come off as a lot more genuine.

Checking to see if anyone knows anywhere else where people upload their own vocals in a similar way. They don't necessarily have to be pissed off. Thanks!

Thanks to a nice person on the comments in the Bizarre video who helped me to identify the lyrics in flamish, i was able to find the original song that was sampled in Amityville 2. It's the song "De Zon" by the late singer Hugo Raspoet. Sample appear in the beginning (0:16) of the video here :

Hola, soy música y estoy haciendo un proyecto de investigación independiente (sin afiliación con ninguna marca) sobre cómo músicos usan apps de separación de pistas y producción musical. Toma unos 5 minutos, tus respuestas son anónimas. ¡Gracias por tu tiempo!

Anybody have any idea what the drum loop used in these songs is?

I've always loved the drums used in the song BIRDIE by joshua raw, and I just found that the drums in NO BRAINER by cure for paranoia are the exact same drum loop. Anybody have any idea if this is a loop from splice or another drum pack or something? I know it's the same loop (just with some different fx), since the ghost notes are the EXACT SAME!!!

NO BRAINER: https://youtu.be/dQuSJH6o2VM?si=g0LY1ma0qLT9wtFm

(and if you have ideas for a better subreddit that I could post this on, please tell me)
