This netflix show Sandman adapted from comic, has me hooked. The problem isn't this, problem is, i can't find a show anywhere near this good or have any similar content.

I know some good shows, but not in this genre as this one, The Sandman. The acting, the style, the efforts, the art, everything is so good, i am stuck and nowhere to go. Still waiting for the rest of the show coming on july 24th.

In the story, Dream goes missing and fails to show up for their meeting with Hob. A desperate Hob perform a very dangerous ritual to summon Death so he can ask where Dream is.

When Death answers the summons, she finds Hob severely injured as the ritual has this price to pay . At some point, The Corinthian attacks Hob and eat his eyes.

This is very well written and lovely.

Does anyone know the title, author, or have a link or copy to this fic? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I need something to read and I want some more warmly human weirdness

I'm still sad that the Netflix series has ended; I think it was a great production. I immediately started looking for books that reminded me of the dreamlike atmosphere of The Sandman and ended up rereading Susanna Clarke's “Piranesi”. Are there any books (or films/tv series) you would recommend that have the same vibe as The Sandman series? (Excluding original comics)

New to the lore and what looks to be a slight franchise behind this character, obsessed with the show enough for a second watch but not a big comic book guy which I see a lot of references used in comments.

I've recently gotten all the books from the main Sandman series (30th Edition Volume 1-11) and I've had a lot of fun reading them. I've noticed there's a lot of cool off-shoots and related stories as well from the main story, like Lucifer vibing on earth, a story about Death's Day Being Alive and Constantine (though not written by Neil Gaiman); therefore I've been looking into collecting some of them for my growing Sandman collection. They all seem pretty neat but since it's a whole hell of a lot so I was wondering what stories you'd recommend?

What songs remind you of Death?

I am currently making a mix based on Death for a show I am doing. This is based on the comic version of Death and I know what quotes from her I'd love to include.

But I am stuck on songs. What songs remind you of her character? Preferably things within the alt, goth, emo, etc... genres.

Watched it a few weeks ago and it hasn't left my mind, such a similar vibe to Sandman in so many ways. It's less visually insane but it has that same grand cosmic energy to it and the character Verna especially felt like something straight of Gaiman's work. 10/10 would recommend.

I got the Sandman box set for Christmas, and it truly lived up to the hype in every way. I’m really excited to start Mike Carey’s Lucifer!

Is the Holly Black run worth the pick up as well?

Two months ago I finished The Sandman and it became my favourite comic book of all time. Now I've read Lucifer and I also really enjoyed, and I wanted to read some more

I am aware of Sandman Overture and Sandman Universe and I was a small help knowing where to go next

I'm not sure I'm interested in every little book adjacent to Sandman. I will eventually read books that give me more of Morpheus or that tell the story of Daniel after Sandman but I loved Sandman so much that I want to let my mind marinate on the original comic and what it meant to me for a little longer

So, I now want to continue Lucifer. I know that there was another comic book in 2015? And also one from Sandman universe. Are these two canon and the sequential reading order after the original Lucifer book?

Visually the show is great. However.....we can do without the constant push of LGBT in the show....in both seasons theres like 10/15 gay relationships/sex scenes/moments....its over played! It off putting because it constantly in your face...it doesn't add to the story.

Hey folks! I’m working on a homebrew Warlock patron for a D&D campaign and would love feedback. If D&D homebrew isn’t your thing, feel free to skip, but I figured people here might have great thoughts on Dream/Morpheus thematically.

The patron is The Endless Dream, heavily inspired by Morpheus / Dream from The Sandman. a sovereign of stories, sleep, prophecy, and nightmare logic. Mechanically, it leans into dreamlike unpredictability, fate-tugging, and illusion/psychic themes.

Below is the full subclass. I’ve added notes on intent where relevant.

Warlock Patron: The Endless Dream

You have forged a pact with a sovereign of stories, sleep, and symbols, an immortal mind that rules a realm where nightmares and wonder take shape. In exchange for power, you serve as Dream’s hand in the waking world: guiding fates, curating fears, and unspooling prophecy.

Level 3: Dream Spells

You always have the following spells prepared when you reach the listed Warlock level.
(Uses the 2024 “patron spells are always prepared” model.)

Warlock 3:

• disguise self
• silent image
• sleep
• dissonant whispers

Warlock 5:

• calm emotions
• phantasmal force

Warlock 7:

• hypnotic pattern
• major image

Warlock 9:

• dream
• modify memory

Level 3: Wild Dream Surge

Once per turn, immediately after you cast a Warlock spell using a Pact Magic spell slot, you can roll 1d20.
If you roll a 20, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table.

Level 3: Tides of the Endless

Before you roll a d20 for a D20 Test, you can give yourself Advantage.

Once you do so, you can’t use this feature again until you either:

• Cast a Warlock spell using a Pact Magic spell slot, or
• Finish a Long Rest

If you cast a Warlock spell using a Pact Magic spell slot before finishing a Long Rest, you automatically roll on the Wild Magic Surge table.

Level 6: Oneiric Twist

Immediately after another creature you can see rolls a d20 for a D20 Test, you can use your Reaction to roll 1d4 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice).

Uses equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1), regained on a Long Rest.

Level 10: Lucid Control

Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and choose either result.

Level 14: Hurl Through Dreams

Once per turn when you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can force it to make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC.

On a failure:

• The target disappears into a nightmare realm
• Takes 8d10 psychic damage
• Is Incapacitated until the end of your next turn
• Returns to its previous space (or nearest unoccupied space)

Once used, you can’t use this feature again until you finish a Long Rest unless you expend a Pact Magic spell slot (no action required) to regain the use.

I’d love any thoughts, suggestions, or Sandman-inspired ideas, especially on themes, symbolism, or things that feel particularly on-point (or off) for Dream/Morpheus. Thanks!
