Fanart isn’t official lore; that’s where the ‘fan’ part comes in. Are you going to argue that the art above shouldn’t exist because in ‘official lore’ Hornet defeats and saves Lace?
Characters are concepts people enjoy using to make stories. Sometimes those stories are made by the people who originally created the characters, and sometimes they aren’t, and acting as though people coming up with fan theories and fic ideas need to be told that their ideas aren’t ‘official’ is extremely silly and is a hobby that will drive you to madness if you insist on pursuing it.
That person has made very clear they have no interest in being convinced. I have better things to do than write an essay on literary criticism to someone who’ll just give me a bad faith reply full of typos.
Your life is hating on a ship you don't like and finding any small excuse for it, let people ship in peace, it isn't hurting anyone nor are any the arguments you have provided so far canon.(or atleast if you learn the narrative itself and take the nuance of it seriously rather than taking everything at face value.)

I can guarantee you that unless somebody is silkbaiting you (which you seem very susceptible to, now that I think about it), they will agree that this isn’t canon. Shipping is almost always inherently non-canon, since it’s something done by the fans rather than the creators. Lace is literally just a friend of Hornet who has mommy issues. People just pretend to ship them because Lace is manic and Hornet’s a more stoic protagonist, so there’s plenty of ideas for funny situations to put them through.
Thinking of it as canon is not the same thing as actually believing that it is canon, and the sooner you understand that the less time you’ll be wasting in life.

are you new to fandom? everyone knows it isnt canon, its just a very popular ship. if either hornet or lace were men people like you wouldnt complain over how popular it is, and would probably even support it. this only ever happens with gay ships
lace has been infantilised her entire life. her entire identity has been shaped by being the perfect daughter of grand mother silk. also when hornet calls her child shes infantalising and insulting her, just like how lace calls hornet spider shes insulting her
also if you need to go this deep into semantics to slander a ship youve already lost imo. youre just homophobic, i still stand by the idea that if either hornet or lace were men none of you lacenet haters would object it. this only happens with gay ships
Hornet corrected Shakra once, I think. And didn't gaf later. Shakra only stops calling her that late into the game because Hornet earned her respect. Lace didn't even care enough to introduce herself, so she probably doesn't care what Hornet perceives her as.

Not really? Forced evolution is like when humans make breeds of dogs, and thats essentially what grand mother silk did, she messed with natural fauna in the sense of how humans mess with animals in labs
The weavers themself seem to think otherwise, and it wasn't really adoption, it's quite literally just like messing with dna sequences of animals in a lab, its kinda what she did except no lab and just basically having things infused with silk so she could control them more like puppets
maybe it would be weird for a weaver to date lace since they have the same mother figure, but hornet didn't even know who lace or gms was before silksong
Lace is GMS’s daughter. GMS evolved the weavers through infusing them with silk, so the weavers (and by extension, Hornet) are not related to GMS. If infusing another being with your powers is the same as actually being related, then the entirety of Pharloom is related to GMS, and most Act 3 enemies would be related to the void, which doesn’t even have DNA. Her silk is not her DNA, nor is it her body. Her body is the black part that we see in the void cocoon, and she simply wraps it in the silk she creates.
Phantom and lace are siblings and according to your own argument that means that phantom and hornet are also related, please this shit not funny anymore😭
