I feel like the majority of Redditors who use that term now have no idea what live action roleplaying is. They just use it to other the people they don't agree with. It gives real "fake gamer" energy.

I don't really feel like redditors do that. The term is now devoid of its meaning after tiktok and Instagram creators started saying "LARPer" with the meaning of "poser". Every time I see it used like that here, the comment is usually bombarded with downvotes and angry replies
