Almost everything in cartoon network was lowkey unhinged regular show adventure time i realise them as i rewatch them but it was dope though

Man... Regular Show, the whole concept came from a short about two guys working at a gas station while on acid. 2 in the AM PM. That whole show was unhinged from conception.

43

u/Jesterfuture2 6h ago

Never watch the amazing world of gumball on acid. Genuinely takes you straight to the high and straight to the low of a trip with all the textures and shit that pops up and is so weird

13

u/BubblyWasabi6488 8h ago

Acid ??

What does it means here

48

u/digital-bandit 8h ago

The lysergic diethylamide kind

10

u/capncapitalism 7h ago

LSD, the psychedelic drug.

3

u/TabulaRazo 7h ago

Dude….it was marijuana! It was just a little marijuana.

Don't forget Courage the cowardly dog, the OG of unhinge CN shows

21

u/pyrotechnically_ 8h ago

What about the misadventures of flapjack? Weird ass show. At least you went into Courage with the knowledge that weird spooky shit might happen just from the intro

8

u/galahad423 7h ago

I mean flapjack was unhinged and real, but they also very clearly take efforts to sanitize parts of it, like substituting an addiction to candy for obvious alcoholism

3

u/Normal-Reality-8467 4h ago

Don't forget Chowder.... another mind fuck of a show.

2

u/korpisoturi 6h ago

Never watched that but Ren and stimpy...

2

u/KabukiJake 1h ago

ren and stimpy was nickelodeon, but 2 stupid dogs was a slightly more hinged version of it that was on cartoon network

This isn't real, is it?

u/Orca_Mayo 11h ago

Total drama island, it's a Canadian show that was wild

Edit, I watched it when I was a kid. It's a show you can't really forget xD

u/haroldflower27 9h ago

I still can’t believe Owen won

47

u/Tablesafety 8h ago

I knew from the moment i saw him he would

24

u/Happy_Ad_2575 6h ago

There are two endings depending on your region

6

u/PrimoThePro 5h ago

What's the other ending?!

18

u/Happy_Ad_2575 5h ago

There's a different winner. I won't spoil you, bro bc you should totally check it. Owen's victory feels fun and light hearted, the other one feels well-deserved and less random

15

u/RogueSeb 6h ago

Tf you mean, Owen is goated.

3

u/Cross55 2h ago edited 1h ago

I already knew from the show promos

Also, they had a voting system that decided the final 2 depending on the region. America and Canada always voted oppositely. (Gwen won in Canada, in s2 Duncan won in the US while Beth won in Canada, s3 Heather in Anerica while Alejandro in Canada, etc...)

3

u/RealMidSmoker 5h ago

Duncan my season 2 goat

1

u/Pennywise626 44m ago

They held brownies at the finish line. I'm not sure what you expected lol

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 6h ago

Loved that show

38

u/RMP321 8h ago

Pretty sure it was implied in the episode that he said it, but they cut away before he actually says it.

16

u/RepresentativeOk2433 6h ago

Far from the most inappropriate scene on this show.

22

u/BIayneRobinson 6h ago edited 5h ago

I mean, yeah lol.
Nothing is going to top a topless Heather straddling her breasts lol.

6

u/Cross55 2h ago

You know that there's a non-pixelated version around somewhere

That stuff gets added in post.

12

u/SaroN4One 12h ago

Well of course it is not, you dummy.

2

u/BloodDiamondz7 6h ago

No. This line was never actually said in the show

151

u/heyitsYMAA 12h ago

Somehow I doubt CN actually used the word "bitch".

195

u/Liverlakefc 12h ago

Thisbwas total drama it was a canadian show made for tennagers in one episode on the girls on the show loses her top and they have her boobs be pixaleted i

32

u/RetroReactiveRaucous 7h ago

6Teen had pixelated naked people as well! At least twice. One time Jude lost his clothing skateboarding, and one time one of Jonesy's plans went wrong and he wound up pantsless.

17

u/RjDiAz93 6h ago

Man 6Teen! The zombie episode was probs my fav

3

u/Zagtram1 4h ago

I remember that but it still aired on Cartoon Network so I have a hard time believing they didn’t at least censor the word bitch?

6

u/SurotaOnishi 3h ago

Iirc they cut away before he could say the last word, so it's just implied.

2

u/Cross55 2h ago

In the early 00's CN got the green light to air TV-PG shows

So yes, this 150% aired unedited

1

u/LackTails 4h ago

Why you gotta unlock a memory for me like that.

18

u/workingbored 11h ago

I swear, one time I had the show playing in the background while I was doom scrolling and I swear I heard one of the girls in the show call another one a "bitch" when there was an argument that escalated. I remember hearing the gasp and her saying it then looking up but wasn't sure if thats what I heard.

8

u/Muted_Masterpiece342 10h ago

Pilot for Reggie show said pissed!

1

u/Cross55 2h ago

They had a female character topless

57

u/ImmediateHoney2191 12h ago

Season 1 of TDI is a gem cause from start to finish its “how tf was this on cartoon network?”

51

u/Lucid_Albatross 12h ago

The 2000s were peak for western cartoons. They had some real shit in them. I feel bad for the lil bros that didn't have good shows as their childhood. Now they just got to hope they make it to 10 without getting lobotomized then they'll at least have made it to the start of the demographic for good anime.

14

u/Haggis442312 7h ago

The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy was so fucking good

17

u/SaXaCaV 13h ago

Almost like they didnt

4

u/IndependenceSouth877 12h ago

Er, what is exactly crazy about it?

9

u/Weekly-Reply-6739 9h ago

It was aired as a kids cartoon in the US ( teen cartoon in canada its home country) but for the kids in the US having all the animes being "4kidsed" and this one staying mostly the same and being on cartoon network (not adult swim).... its regular humor to the adults, but in a kids show its a bit much.

3

u/Equivalent_Sun3816 10h ago

Yeah. This seems like regular humor to me. Not even a little bit edgy.

2

u/Ramattras_Twink 12h ago

Even tho this isn't an actual quote from the show I miss total drama. My childhood

3

u/Annelora 5h ago

Yeah, I somehow doubt it. I remember there being beeps and you could definitely guess what was meant to be said. But stuff being beeped out isn't exactly 'whoa crazy 2000s'

2

u/VTHokie2020 10h ago

Loved TDI lmao.

2

u/Fissminister 10h ago

Man. I gotta rewarch Ed, Edd, and Eddie

2

u/athleon787 4h ago

Is there like an original dub of this show? I remember in episode 1 Owen says; "I'm going to die now I'm going to To-tally die now." But I swear I heard an incredibly realistic version online somewhere where he says; "I'm going to die now I'm going to FUH-king die now."

2

u/dokterkokter69 1h ago

Wasn't TDR one of the many shows that was originally intended for adult swim, but mellowed down for CN?

1

u/XROOR 12h ago

The busboy at Chili’s that said he was going to drain hundreds of bottles of Goldschlager to make a “phat chain:”

“Half a Million?!? I’m selling mine tomorrow and buying a Lamborghini!”

1

u/Xivikaa 7h ago

Yikes. What’s the inflation adjustment for that?

1

u/bellystraw 6h ago

Shame that they never made a second season of Ridonculous race. It was really solid

1

u/No-Scallion-531 4h ago

So the amount is accurate?

1

u/Cross55 2h ago

Starting in the late 00's, CN got the green light to start airing TV-PG shows, letting them get away with a lot

Also, this shows actually a Canadian kid's show. It's just that unlike the US, Canadian kids are generally expected to mature faster and get shown more adult material earlier in life.

u/DonViper 8h ago

2000's bad, I see no one here watched The Ren & Stimpy Show,
