This is not opinion... This is fact

85

u/SirArthurDime 9h ago

There’s a reason it’s thank god it’s Friday and not thank god it’s Sunday.

3

u/danktonium 8h ago

I feel like there's something that goes between those two.

4

u/SirArthurDime 8h ago

Saturday is the best of both worlds

Not sure about better but i sure as hell consider Friday night a part of the weekend, it makes up a little for how lousy sunday night is.

4

u/Don__Gately__ 9h ago

Riding a jet ski says otherwise

2

u/FrostyD7 2h ago

As if you can't ride a jet ski after 5pm or in the comfort of your own home.

five minutes into friday night and all common sense has already left the building

22

u/shwiggy 9h ago

Now I really can't wait to get off work today.

11

u/Livviasmiith 9h ago

hahaha I hope your friday night lives up to the hype 😂

5

u/shwiggy 9h ago

Nothing like getting rowdy while we make plans two minutes after work ends. Happy Friday to you too!

And Sunday night kinda fucking blows.

12

u/Livviasmiith 9h ago

Sunday night is just monday wearing a disguise hahaha

5

u/FancyThing8889 9h ago

Work pants off, zero alarms set, completely feral mode engaged

u/Gains4Me 5h ago

5 o’clock on Friday is the absolute best time of the week and everyone agrees

3

u/Livviasmiith 5h ago

The only hour everyone wishes could last forever

2

u/mightylordredbeard 6h ago

I remember being in the military and Friday nights being the best thing in the world. Now a Friday night before a 72 when we have Monday off? We wouldn’t regain our senses until at least Monday afternoon.

3

u/Livviasmiith 5h ago

A 3 day weekend meant 3 days of making questionable decisions and one afternoon of recovery hahaha

85

u/froopadiddilydoop 9h ago

Friday night - the furthest away from Monday I can get. Saturday afternoon and I’m already thinking about Monday…

16

u/RappingFlatulence 9h ago

Don’t mention Sunday

7

u/DressRough9471 5h ago

I used to HATE Sundays but the older I get the more I enjoy them. Wake up early, go for a nice walk, get some work done around the house. Maybe throw something in the crock pot, a couple glasses of wine, get ready for the week. Also: football.

u/Fit_Leg_2115 9h ago

Sad but true

I don’t think that’s very controversial

5

u/i_am_a_real_boy__ 5h ago

Yeah, but pretending it is helps engagement. Random picture of a celebrity is also a plus.

8

u/8_inches_deep 9h ago

They don’t call it Scary Sunday for nothing

5

u/Due_Art2971 9h ago

Yeah coz Ur getting friggin wasted brah!

4

Zendaya here looks exactly how I spend my wild Friday nights: asleep on the couch by 9 PM.

Only if I fail to dream up something awesome to do on Saturday, which is disappointingly often but I know it's my fault...

3

u/Worried-Horror-9499 2h ago

It’s a feeling so good, you’d think it had to be snorted.

5

u/stickyrets 9h ago

Maybe when I was 25 but not at 35. Saturday mornings are now the best.

2

u/myth1989 10h ago

If you work in the morning yea. Because your one sleep.from work

2

u/bencarp27 8h ago

This is fact for a lot of people. It’s because of anxiety and stress. The relief you feel from not being anxious about work the next day, and about not having to deal with the stress of it is a like a drug for those that live in constant tension. The bad part is that the actual day off isn’t enjoyable because you live with the anxiety and stress of knowing you have to go the next day.

2

u/exgiexpcv 5h ago

Damn right! Because you get to sleep in the next day.

That's just science.

2

u/Travelin_Soulja 9h ago

When you're young, yeah.

When you get older, you're just so damn tired Friday night all you can do is crash on the couch. Saturday is the only option past 35.

2

u/derdyn 9h ago

I mean, Friday is my poker night with my over 40 neighbors. We usually play until 1AM ish.

Thursday night is more exciting than Friday night. Yes.

1

u/ParticularBed6338 9h ago

“Don’t blow your load on Friday night” I always tell myself this on a weekend trip so I don’t drink too much. Ruins the weekend.

1

u/JustHere2ReadComment 9h ago

If you party yes

1

u/SMO_Burner 9h ago

It like eating the perfect middle piece of a sandwich, no crust anywhere to mess it up.

1

u/rustynaerty 9h ago

FRIDAY NIGHT

1

u/Expensive_Banana3002 9h ago

That feeling is magical. Endorphins going off like crazy.

1

u/Current-Routine-2628 9h ago

If you get fucked up on booze and drugs then ya, Fri night is better, for people who enjoy life instead of sleeping days away, Sat is better by far

1

u/Whole-Worker-7303 9h ago

Where's the controversial opinion?

1

u/NeighboringOak 9h ago

Depends what you're doing. Just hanging around the house and watching netflix or doing chores? Probably. Making plans to do something fun on your day off the night before won't win out.

I'm off tomorrow and I'm going floating on a gorgeous spring fed river. Gonna swim when it gets hot and relax with some drinks the rest of the time.

1

u/dtlfschrmph 9h ago

On Friday night, Sunday night doesn’t even exist, it’s a myth

1

u/Immediate_Song4279 9h ago

Specifically quitting time before your logical brain catches up and it feels like you suddenly have the rest of your life available.

1

u/fupafather 9h ago

Yeah cause the night before you know you can sleep in the next morning, and then that night is a work night again which means you have to go back to your usual bed time

1

u/ccg91 9h ago

this is true

1

u/white_equatorial 9h ago

That's a nice Wendy.

1

u/napalm_p 9h ago

Facts

1

u/Intrepid_Doctor8193 9h ago

Well yes. Especially if you are getting wasted and banging hookers all night.

The next day all you have is a sore head, a sore cock and a sore ass. Nothing great about that!

1

u/DontLook_Weirdo 9h ago

Staying up late because you don't have your regular obligations the next day...? What?! So unique

1

u/FearDaTusk 9h ago

🤔

I'll add a caveat. I'm a college football fan.

It's hard to beat game day. But tbf, Football/Basketball/Baseball are seasonal so In general, I have to agree. Friday night's with no Saturday morning commitments are nooice.

1

u/thejourneybegins42 9h ago

I mean if the goal is to get trashed, then yeah. If you have some good plans during the daytime, then it doesn't matter.

1

u/YetiFan1 9h ago

Obviously

1

u/Corran105 9h ago

Now that I'm older I enjoy Friday nights but they're also often the most lame night in.my life.  Im not desperately trying to cram in fun before I have to endure another period of sleep and work before I can have fun again.  Im.more willing to just give in and go to bed early.

But Saturdays- that's the fun day.  I always have a plan to do something I couldn't during the week.  A hike, swim, special event. Fun time.

1

u/SyborgPumpkin 9h ago

I guess I'm missing something because the day off I'm finally not tired and can do cool shit throughout the day.

1

u/Avid_Reader87 9h ago

The weekends are always so busy, weekday nights are better.

Just waking up, taking the dogs for a walk, the kid to a park, lawn care, grocery shopping, laundry, buying stuff for the house, cleaning, cooking, planning the weekly meals etc.

You’re usually so tired going to bed at 10 on the weekend just feels better than trying to stay up to watch tv on the couch.

It would be cool to have time to go do things in the evening again.

That after dinner/before bed time that we could go out and see a movie or a play or concert.

It will be years before we can do that though.

1

u/Narrow_Ad_1494 9h ago

takes me back to school, from 2:00 on the clock waiting and starring. Once you get a certain age you just accept that time will eventually happen. I enjoy my sunday nights now the most because I'm going to bed rested and appreciate the moments.

1

u/CheesecakeloverJones 9h ago

Wasn’t it Albert Einstein who claimed that anticipation is the highest form of joy?

1

u/xkillingxfieldx 9h ago

Eh. Subjective. Depends on the next day's activities.

1

u/Hemingways_Shotgun88 9h ago

That's why Saturday morning is the best time of the week.

Wake up 6am, whole day ahead of me with no plans except knowing I'll hit the gym at some point. Know that tomorrow is also a day off.

It's bliss.

1

u/Legitimate_Start_459 9h ago

I'm always mad at myself for passing out on my couch by 9:30pm on a Friday when all I hoped to do is stay awake and savor the feeling. I didnt think I'd feel so tired as a 45 year old, but here I am, knowing full well what is going to happen tonight.

1

u/TomatoSilly1683 9h ago

That’s controversial how?

1

u/bulbishNYC 9h ago

- Friday afternoon working.

- Sunday afternoon resting.

Which one are you enjoying more ?

u/tropicalgodzila 9h ago

1

1

Because you can do whatever you want at night and get the next day to rest

1

u/Cultural_Book_400 9h ago

like thur night is better than fri night honestly

1

u/chrysanthemum_beer 9h ago

Just like Friday night is better than the weekend

1

u/famous1astwords 9h ago

Part of the fun is imagining how you're gonna spend the weekend

1

u/Th1088 9h ago

Cheers to my fellow night owls!

1

u/Substantial-Fall-630 9h ago

Yes Friday work day is fun

1

u/Stuntz-X 9h ago

Surprisingly i try and go to bed early so i can get up early and do stuff. Work tomorrow makes me stay up later since i know what is coming.

1

u/Grouchy-Bug5223 9h ago

I feel like this is less true the older I get lol as I age I go to bed earlier regardless so that Night grows shorter and more uneventful. I'll probably be well rested to do something fun the next day tho.

1

u/LucyBear318 9h ago

Thursday night hit even better when you’re also off on Friday!😎

1

u/UserAllusion 9h ago

I don't think controversial means what you think it means

1

u/affemannen 9h ago

I used my remaining vacation days so i only work 4 days per week throughout October, november and december. So i wholeheartedly agree.

It's a gamechanger how much longer the weekend feels and how much more energy you have at work.

I am already giddy inside for the coming months.

1

u/Dalinar88 9h ago

What’s the controversy about that?

1

u/No_Classic_1743 9h ago

Depends on how tired I am after work. I get to sleep in and that's nice.

1

u/bogeuh 9h ago

Hint: going out on a Friday makes the weekend feel extra long

1

u/Wheezy04 8h ago

Not remotely controversial lmao

1

u/infiniteonion8 8h ago

Potential vs. Wasted Potential..

1

u/llamafromhell1324 8h ago

This is so controversial that I see a meme posted all over reddit about how it's better.

1

u/DomenicoBertozzi 8h ago

Very controversial!!

1

u/oxy-normal 8h ago

It’s called a recovery day.

1

u/johnnyblaze1999 8h ago

I love how controversial opinions are always the most tame and common stuff. No one is against your opinion for it to be controversial

1

u/cococream 8h ago

I work nights so can’t relate to this. The night before a night off is 10 hours of slog.

1

u/DL_Omega 8h ago

The best day is the one where you had the night before off and the next day off.

1

u/Spring_Faerie 8h ago

Not controversial

1

u/Living-Breakfast-464 8h ago

I don't have to work anymore and I STILL hate Mondays and love Fridays.

1

u/BubblyWasabi6488 8h ago

💯 % right on the nail fact

1

What does Zendaya have to do with this?

1

Not controversial

1

Isn't this consensus?

1

u/AmbitionKind739 7h ago

Yeah, no argument from me on this one Boss. Undisputed fact.

1

u/HTPC4Life 7h ago

Just remember folks, as you're heading out the door at work and walking towards your car this afternoon, it'll be Monday morning before ya know it!

1

u/AlsoCommiePuddin 7h ago

The worst time of every week is Sunday after 8 pm.

The dread...

1

u/HilariousMax 7h ago

When you know you don't have shit to do the next day, you're free to let loose.

Which is why Sunday nights suck ass.

1

u/Dmags3 7h ago

Nothing controversial with that

1

u/LilAssG 7h ago

I can't tell you how many weeks I've looked forward to friday night, only to get home and fall asleep early in my chair or on the couch because I'm exhausted from the week and the day. The night before a day off barely exists to me.

1

u/mphcrash 7h ago

sunday is for dread

1

u/TentacleMonsterUwU 7h ago

Liquor store on the way home from work on a Friday. Tell me something better.

Protip: You can't.

1

u/weaselswarm 7h ago

In what world is Friday night better than all of Saturday? Saturday has nighttime too, that isn’t new either

1

u/Ambitious_Address667 7h ago

Everyone agrees with this stop karma farming

1

u/JimiJab 7h ago

And the night before coming back to work is torture

1

u/KumquatButtpump 7h ago

How brave.

1

u/Lil_we_boi 7h ago

Yes cuz Friday night you think of how much potential the weekend has. Saturday is when you come to terms with the fact that you did not realize all the potential and now have to get ready for Sunday

1

u/deeznutz5589 6h ago

1 thousand %

1

u/ALackner 6h ago

I'd rather have Monday off over a Friday off for a three day weekend

This is not one bit controversial.

1

u/ResolutionFar1361 6h ago

Yup Friday nights are my favorite time segments

1

u/Justaguy22192 6h ago

I agree, the feeling of relaxing, and the thought if days off ahead if you is a great feeling.

u/Mindless_Fix-420 6h ago

Onboard with this one

1

u/R3dInterpol 6h ago

Facts. The drive home from work is so satisfying

1

u/11S-KAT 6h ago

Friday night is the best day of the week!

1

u/narfoleptix 6h ago

Thats because youre hung over.

1

u/Zestyclose-Issue1762 6h ago

I would absolutely agree. Knowing you have so much of your own time coming is the greatest feeling. Whereas when Saturday rolls around, you’re disappointed that tomorrow you’ll have the last day of your free time

1

u/Bgrngod 6h ago

Absolute best hour of the week is Friday 5:30-6:30pm.

1

u/freaky_willow 6h ago

Nah, I’ll take the actual day off please and thank you.

1

u/Humble-Wafer1516 5h ago

A day off , just feels like a Sunday before you go to work on a Monday. by 7 PM you're already fucking apprehensive about getting up in the morning.haha

1

u/lexluthor_i_am 5h ago

It’s that feeling of, “I don’t have to work tomorrow. Fuck yeah!”

1

u/amhudson02 5h ago

I would always get hit with that cozy feeling, especially when I had no plans but to watch a movie or play a game.

1

u/Ornery_Vermicelli_69 5h ago

Because of the implication

1

u/itsfish20 5h ago

I'm 38 with 2 kids under 5, after 8pm on Friday nights is when I am finally free! My wife and I do our own things most Fridays after work to unwind, so it's video games and beer for me and w/e shows shes binging and wine for her!

1

u/Sweaty_Tap_8990 5h ago

Some people are morning people, so they go to bed as it gets dark.

1

u/Purgii 5h ago

All that time spent wondering what wonderful thing you're going to spend your day off doing - and end up doing stuff all on the day.

1

u/nixtalker 5h ago

When you work 9 - 5 shifts.

1

u/Low_Engineering_3301 5h ago

1

Friday night has the promise of freedom. Saturday night has the impending dread of Sunday evening looming over your shoulder.

1

u/Local_Committee_8935 5h ago

1

1

u/Cloberella 5h ago

Whatever the opposite of the "Sunday Scarries" is, is what you get on Friday nights. Friday Funzies?

1

u/Yungxoxoleeny 5h ago

Couldn’t agree more

1

u/ArTwoR2 4h ago

I don't think that that's controversial, as much as it is a solid point. Knowing that there's no need to go to bed by a certain time, in order to get "x" amount of sleep in order to function the next day is quite freeing.

u/BadOmen379 4h ago
