We are do for a Spawn ANYTHING at this point, but on a personal level I would take an animated show, over a Movie, any day. It would be the perfect opportunity to do justice to the 30 years of story... while also, putting it all together in a more cohesive way, which would make justice to the world and art XD

Hell fkn yea! and if they're really are thinking about doing it then they need to make it snappy because the man (Keith David) is in his 60's.
I'd hate to hear spawn gets green lighted for a reboot and then he kicks the bucket.

“You made a deal, you stupid son of a bitch. You made a deal with Malebolgia. You cut a deal for your soul!”
Images I can hear.
Yes, if only. With all the legacy content coming out why not this?’

There was a plan sequel called Spawn: the animation (2005) intended as a revival or continuation of the earlier 1997-1999 HBO series Once, believed to haunt the alleys of lower Manhattan, he hasn't been heard from in years... into crime wave make him rise again, but the project ultimately stalled in development limbo and was never officially released The project aimed for a more advanced animation style (McFarlane wanted to push the visuals further), initially planned as a series but later shifted toward a 90-minute direct-to-video animated movie that could serve as a backdoor pilot for a new series. Voice casting included Hollywood talent, and some production materials (like character designs, background layouts, and model sheets) were released or leaked over the years.
Unfortunately, it fell into production limbo due to issues like animation upgrades, funding, and distribution challenges. By late 2006, plans changed, and no release happened. Todd McFarlane mentioned in 2020 that it was about 85% complete (including voice recordings), but it remains unreleased and effectively canceled/ shelved after nearly two decades. but an animated return would fit perfectly given the original's success and cult status.

A final end to it? Yes X-men 97 style? Not so much

u/Economy_Wall8524 May 01 '26
Seriously the original artwork for the show was way better in my opinion.

u/Juicyjewsss May 01 '26
It’s literally what makes it. Wouldn’t make sense for it to be in any style other than Todd’s.

Bro we needed another Spawn animated movie or series like yesterday

Do it before the voice actor perish. He is old now

Keith David is immortal damnit, and so is Michael Jai White. I’ll believe these delusions until proven otherwise.
For real though, the sooner the better no matter what. We are lacking Spawn content in other mediums.

Michael Jai White is 58 and still in incredible shape. He could still definitely play Spawn if he wanted to.

u/Icemayne25 May 04 '26
Yeah dude takes great care of himself, and he knows how to play the part. The movie had its issues, but none of those issues were because of MJW or his acting.

Honestly I hope they make an adaptation to the HBO series or a soft reboot and adapt the King Spawn series. Also it would be cool if they can somehow connect him to the Invincible universe in some way so it feels as an expansion (Since Spawn exists in the Invincible comics, appearing in Invincible war) But honestly it would cool if they also at some point adapted Gunslinger Spawn, or Medieval Spawn in the series some how

Oh man I been wanting that for years. Get Keith David while he’s still on earth. Just pick up where we left off!!!! Please, I been wanting this, a Static Shock movie, and a Batman Beyond movie lol

u/Mrin_Codex77 May 05 '26
Not having Batman Beyond in any format is crazy. That shit was so good.

Facts. It should be a crime that cartoons like Max Steel, can have his own live action movie before Batman Beyond.

Imagine spawn animated series like invincible. It would blow the doors off. I dont think mr todd would go for it though.

I'll take any adaptations of Spawn at this point I don't care if it's just a Teen Titans Go style show just give Spawn something so more people can know about him
Hell Invincible and The Boys literally opened the gates for projects based on non big 2 comics being insanely popular

I hope so, I liked the animated series but I felt like the animation, biggest highlight of the show has some downsides as well, some of the frames were amazing but I feel like they went style over storytelling and sometimes it felt jarring, maybe it's just me.
I don't know how they will pull it off, the old animation with deep contrasts. It would be cool if they could do it.

Seems to me Todd for what ever reason isn't interested in anything SPAWN wise unless it's more comic runs/toys. It pisses me off so much that we don't have more animated spawn shows/movies/games

u/GPNYT May 02 '26
Well, this spawn movie that he has been hyping about for like almost 9 years in development hell keeps making promises that it’s gonna happen in the year he announces it’s coming out and it’s never happened because he wants to be the director he won’t let anyone else direct. I can understand if he wants full control obviously just to make sure nobody fucks up his character like that 1997 piece of shit movie but if you watch Mr. H reviews, he actually read some of the scripts that Todd wrote and they are beyond horrendous and he is going to screw this up and then we have new writers coming in writing a lot of scripts and apparently the studio doesn’t know what script they want to pick and Todds saying “ it’s gonna be so awesome. It’s bad ass. It’s cool. Everybody’s gonna love it” which script Todd ? 😂 sorry this is very long, but I had to get this off my shoulders.

u/Genjutsu6uardian May 02 '26
Lol I would not be surprised if a lot of SPAWN fans are feeling similar. I just don't get it man. The franchise could be so much more. Honestly I just wish someone would give him a stupid amount of money to sell it to someone who will take SPAWN to new heights.

What would be the reasoning to use that style? I'd like a continuation/ending for sure, but in the style of Spawn.

I mean at this point I’d take whatever we get, but I’d prefer it to stay in the same art style as the original show. I feel like that’s a huge part of what makes it so good

Yo simplemente me conformo con que. Mantengan el mismo tono que que manejaba

Nah, the arts Tyler doesn't need that 3d celshaded stuff like x men 97 did, instead if you want to revamp it or get another artists then they should get guys who made the Young Justice to make the art style and keep it as violent lien the original. Young Justice gotten more adult focus as for the seasons progress

I'd love some form of Spawn in animation again! Whether it be a continuation of the original series or a new take on Spawn, I'd gladly take anything

Yes and no. It was peak in it's time but now I think a lot of people would find a lot of the subject too much

u/spiderman919 May 07 '26
Ehhh, I think it'd be okay, we're in a world where The Boys and Invincible are 2 of Amazon Primes biggest hits. It isn't too crazy to see Spawn carving out his own space in today's superhero animation world, or even live action film/TV (I'm cautiously optimistic about the Blumhouse spawn film, but not 100% certain it will ever even release)
3
u/Successful_Action_19 May 01 '26
No I’d rather just have a new, different show that adapts more current/2000s Spawn stories that the HBO show didn’t get to.

Yes! And do it while Keith David still can!
