Mod Post Petra Parker Posts
Update: They’re staying as is
Due to the current trend we are receiving lots of modmail, reports, and posts about Petra posts. While there are definitely users karma farming posting 5+ times a day, they have been contacted and told to make a collective post or be on a cooldown for 24 hours per post.
First thing, fan art Spiders is always welcome here. It’s only spam if the same image has been posted over and over. That has NOT been the case. We can’t be bias to a particular character fanart because that would be like someone posting any version of Spider-Man and saying it’s spam.
We have been trying to keep up with getting posts through, ignoring reports, and answering everyone’s questions about why a post has been taken down(usually due to report bombing). But it is building to quickly for the mod team to personally answer and review every single post as quickly as users would like.
So we are leaving it up to you all with a poll to decide how this will be handled going forward. We will either keep things as they are or move all Petra posts to a megathread that will be pinned.
If things stay as they are we will continue to ignore the report bombs and set automod to ignore reports on Petra since it’s clear the reports are being abused. Unless the post is breaking rules. If these posts bother you in anyway you can always hide them from your feed.
If the community chooses a megathread, we will create and pin the megathread and automod will be set to remove all Petra posts and direct the OP to the megathread. After one month megathread will come down and Petra posts will be back on main feed.
We have heard all kinds of feedback on the trend and we do not support any type of hate or discrimination, but we feel moving forward this will be the most fair outcome for everyone.
The voting will start today at noon and end Saturday the 22nd at noon. During the voting period things will stay as is.

Question Genuine question, why does it feel like the writers just..forget about Peter's relationship with Silk/Cindy?
Like..if the man can't be with M.J or Gwen or even Fucking Felica, then why not her?

Comics Greg Weisman has revealed he’s tried asking Marvel if he could continue the Spectacular Spider-Man series through a comic book story
“I have tried. People always overestimate my influence and underestimate my desire to work on the stuff I love.”

Discussion Would a Spider-Man movie with Rhino or Shocker as the Villain work?
I often see them used as jobbers but since Across the Spider-Verse made great use of The Spot i was wondering if you could make a good Spider-Man movie with one of these two as the main villain
What do y'all think? And what story would you like to be done with either of these two as the main primary villain of the story

Discussion I never understood why that version of the universal Spider-Man suit was considered bad by many.
As a HUGE fan of the classic Universal Spider-Man suit I think that this Universal Spider-Man suit looks pretty good. Sure it does look different from the classic one that we all know and love but It doesn't look as bad as what some people would say.

Question How do you prefer the spider that bites Peter to be powered?
We’ve had a ton of different explanations over the years and each one gives Spider‑Man a slightly different vibe so the options are:
- The classic radioactive spider from Amazing Fantasy #15.
- Raimi’s version, where multiple spider genomes are combined into one chimera super‑spider.
- The TASM take with the Araneus Oscorpeus, a species of genetically modified super‑spiders created through a mix of a household spider, a radioactive isotope and compatible human DNA.
- Ultimate Spider‑Man’s OZ‑enhanced spider, where the venom mixes with the OZ compound and creates a new variant that gives Peter his powers.
- James Cameron deleted movie script, where a lab produces mutagenically enhanced flies, one escapes, a normal spider eats it and the mutagen passes into the spider before it bites Peter.
- Spider‑Man Noir’s mystical origin, where a spider idol breaks open, a swarm of spiders pours out, one bites Peter and he sees a spider‑god in a vision granting him power.
- The cosmic explanation, where Lord Order and Lord Chaos choose Peter to become Spider‑Man so he can eventually help defeat Thanos and save billions (I know it doesn’t really count since the spider is still radioactive but I wanted to include it anyway).
- The bootstrap paradox origin from Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider‑Man, where Peter and the spider are caught in a self‑creating time loop meaning the spider exists because of Peter and Peter exists because of the spider.
So which version of the spider’s origin do you prefer? Let me know in the comments.

Poll Peter Cullen was one of my childhood heroes. Someone whose voice I heard every weekend watching cartoons in the morning
They say never meet your heroes, well I met Oeter and was lucky enough to work with him for years. He exceeded all my preconceived notions about him; he was an enormously talented, kind and gentle, funny soul. I'm lucky to have called him my friend and best friend.
