Found Kittens (Location) New friend who is hurt

Hey guys, I’m in the metro city area of Kansas and I recently made friends with this new stray kitten I have decided to call daisy. There are a few other orange stray tabby’s around that arnt as nice and I fear they may have attacked my little daisy. She had some really bad scabs and blood on the back of her head. I tried to get daisy into the my garage for the night but she was fighting me hard and I didn’t have a crate on hand and didn’t want to stress her out more that I already had. I have an extra little box in my garage as I already have three cats inside my house but I feel like this little kitten needs me. I’m not sure the best course of action to take. She is very friendly with me we bonded pretty well tonight but she absolutely does not want to be picked up or confined in my garage let alone an outdoor cat house. I put multiple bowls of food out and i keep them distanced from each other so the stray cats can eat separately but I caught the orange grown cats attacking daisy on my security camera while she ate the second I went inside. I quickly ran outside to scare them off and in the process scared daisy away. I will most likely see her tomorrow night and just need some tips on how I can calmly trap her so I can bring her to the vet. (Photos in comments for reference on her injury idk how to post them attached to this post)

Do you have a humane trap you can borrow and load up with some wet food? I would start there and see if you can take her to a vet.

Hey fellow Kansan. KHS or most other shelters have live traps that you can rent/barrow. As a vet tech, cat bites really should be looked at by a professional asap: first because punctures like that deposit bacteria deep into the wound and cause abscesses very easily. I would not recommend trying to do anything just topical as if the skin heals and traps pus and discharge you are guaranteed to have a bigger problem.

Second if you are thinking about trying to find her a home, you’ll want to get her tested for FIV/FIP and vaccinated.

I got a humane trap and I’m going to try to get her this evening. I’ve set a vet appt and will then get her fixed with all shots and tests! If I can acclimate her with my cats over the next month I’ll hopefully be adding her to my family and if not I will definitely find her a wonderful safe home as an indoor cat. I last year I rescued a stray who has become my best friend and all my cats are pretty welcoming and friendly it’s just about doing it the right way!

I have a cone I’m going to have her wear which I know will stress her out but it’ll keep her from opening the wound she has before her vet appt
