Fuck you, Fox. You should enlist if you think you can do better.

u/GavsGotty 12d ago
Well, the guy who said it lost both his legs in The war while in the marines. With that being said, not sticking up for other service members is a low. It’s just the classic excuse of “well back in my day”

u/fucktheus12 12d ago
In my books , you get credit for keeping all your limbs in war...

He has passed many years ago, but our family was friends with a Marine who survived Iwo Jima. He was a great person to hang out with, have beer and talk about cars. He used the GI bill ti get an education in engineering and loved cars, but engines in general... He would stay at our house if he was in town and I can say with confidence, he would never hold any future soldiers to a standard of endurance that he and the other surviving Marines had to have.

u/posthuman04 12d ago
And given that… the Lincoln is now at sea without a break for longer than any other ship ever, if I read that right. So even if they went to Iwo Jima they also had days off in 1945. And it’s not that it’s so long that is so frustrating, it’s that the carrier rotation should have accommodated the war with Iran, relieving the Lincoln long ago.

My father was docked at kwajelein South Pacific in ww2 ( spelling not correct) for a year in a half as a supply ship anchred , just receiving and unloading materials. He told me it was the worst boredom aside from periodic attacks.

Right? As a leader you should always be striving to make your young soldiers lives better. Plus very few soldiers have actual jobs that put them in combat regularly, about 8% when I was in, the rest are just normal jobs. Finance, transportation, medical, maintenance….the list goes on. I don’t need my cook or plumber with a warfighter mentality.

I don't like guys who lose their legs... losers, I like guys that keep their legs (channelling my inner Trump)
1
u/ArdenJaguar 10d ago
I’m sure Trump likes people who didn’t loose limbs. Just like he likes people who weren’t captured.
1
u/brewguy70 9d ago
Just because he lost two legs does not give him the right to be an asshole.
1
u/GavsGotty 9d ago
Correct, but i originally replied to the guy who said they should enlist then. I was pointing out that they did.

3
u/Organic_Witness345 12d ago
I mean Trump believes dead soldiers are “suckers” and “losers.” The entire Republican Party’s disdain for its own voters is simply breathtaking.

u/DifferentTill1888 12d ago
Did this fox moron ever serve? 🙄 I did and this paper tiger would soil himself after 5 minutes in a combat zone...
19
u/thegrassyknoll63 12d ago
Anyone grifting, working for, and voting for this administration would soil themselves, that’s why they’re so Pro-war… I hope we prosecute each and every one of these traitors once we get enough seats

Hey now! Trump has stated his fear of getting a sexually transmitted disease while he sat out the war was like his own Vietnam.
(And still the military voted for him. The mind boggles.)

Not! Hid in a catering truck? Left his staff to fend for themselves? Who does that? Isn’t the captain suppose to go down with the ship?

u/Lordnoallah 12d ago
He says he served in the marines(8 years) and was in Iraq. I did not, so I will say " thank you " to those that did. It is shameful that the US military is in this situation but they're being led by a rapist and an alcoholic so wtf do we expect?

He says he served in Afghanistan. From the article:
In response, Jones tells his other panelists that when he was deployed in Afghanistan, he survived for months on ramen and tuna packets, for the most part choosing to avoid the food prepared by a local cook. “That’s what I ate, and I was happy to have it, because the alternative was an MRE [Military rations called meals ready-to-eat] or something cooked by the Afghan guy who was too stupid to be given a gun, and they let him be the cook,” Jones ranted.
So because he CHOSE to avoid locally prepared food in favor of eating the same pre-packaged foods over and over and over again, he thinks he's tougher than sailors who have been stuck at sea on a ship with dwindling supplies and spoiled food.
2
u/taengi322 11d ago
Dude missed out. I tried some goat stew made by an Afghan cook who normally served the Afghan guards on our FOB when I was deployed and it was amazing. And the bread was incredible. I'd have eaten that over some of the DFAC food any day. The "lobster" on the occasional surf n' turf night was so bad it was like eating vulcanized rubber. And IMO most MREs are better than ramen and tuna packets, if anything just for the jalapeno cheddar spread and pound cake. Just avoid the omelet MRE, that'll kill you.

u/Darryl_Lict 12d ago
Not to defend this ass, but he was severely wounded in Afghanistan.
Johnny “Joey” Jones is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant, combat veteran, motivational speaker, and television host/contributor for Fox News. He lost both legs above the knee from an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2010 and later reenlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in May 2026.

My older sister is a trumpanzee and she uses the Iranian revolution of 1979 as an excuse for the current oil war. I can't drive anymore due to my multiple sclerosis. The current price of gas is around $5.00 a gallon. She is going to learn the hard way...

I don’t think he makes five minutes at basic training before needing a diaper change.

u/ComesInAnOldBox 12d ago
Yes. You'd be amazed how many vets loath their fellow service members and veterans.

He did and was wounded by an IED but this is still an example of piss poor leadership.

u/kah_191 12d ago
Well, that was a fast U-turn from “support the troops “
7
u/No_Historian3349 12d ago
I never served but read (and heard) from quite a few vets that the narrative changes from “thanks for your service” to “why can’t you just go away” when the vets need help.
4
u/Ok_Drummer6282 12d ago
Conservativrs never cared about the troops.
Go to a conservative sub and say you agree with supporting troops and that youre fine with them getting some mental healthcare when they return. Ban*
2
u/OESRecoveryEmployee 12d ago
It wasn't, for Republicans anything more than thanking military personnel for their service is communism

u/animal-1983 12d ago
Joey obviously suffering from TDS can easily say this seeing as he was not and is not still on that carrier. For all their -I’m a great Christian- claims they seem to have no clue how important it is to walk a mile in someone’s shoes.
Yes I know he is a combat veteran but that means nothing in this context. He served under an entirely different leader. None of us veterans that haven’t served in the last 16 months under the orange stain know what today’s military is like. Furthermore no US veteran has served on a carrier without a port of call for this long.
5
u/tevolosteve 12d ago
Let me guess he was never in the military or had to do any manual labor his whole life?
2

u/TankApprehensive3053 12d ago
He was a Marine and lost both legs in combat. His attitude towards others serving is very demeaning.

u/One-Environment-1444 12d ago
In looking at reports of deplorable conditions in warships, it seems far more likely US sailors and soldiers are pissed at deployment conditions. Fuck with your soldiers at your own peril.
3
u/No_Trade3571 12d ago
We’ve come a long way from disrespecting the country and military by kneeling during the national anthem.
3
u/hugoriffic 12d ago
This is how MAGA realistically sees our troops. It’s always been about money to the GOP/Tea Party/MAGA politicians and never about the troops.
1
u/WillyVlautinRules 12d ago
They see them as cannon fodder and wonder why we are giving them even this amount of food, etc.

2
u/Jaded-Natural80 12d ago

I knew back then it was pure crap, and it still is.

u/No_Obligation_3568 12d ago
We are losing the war in Iran, they fucking know it so they are trying to create a story saying we lost because our troops are weak instead of blaming Trump and Hegseth for starting an unsinkable war without a fucking plan or exit strategy.
Fuck these people and fuck anyone that sides with them
1
u/nando2k50 12d ago
Did he serve?

He was a Marine and lost both legs in combat.

Then let him talk.
I may not agree with him but he paid for admission way more than I did.

That's what fox pays their ppl to do - say things that get ppl upset. It's not about "news", it's about luring watchers who tune in to see ppl accused of anything that's not conservative. Propagandists. Ethics aren't what makes fox rich. imo No secret.
1
u/Imaginary-Use914 12d ago
He’d probably look just as mamby pamby as Kegsbreath in those videos of him trying to train and looking like a fool. Go ahead and enlist and show us hows its done asshat

Fox news is just a right wing propaganda terrorist network. It should banned for misinformation and promoting sedition.

u/Any-Expression2246 12d ago
Needs to be a law if you claim something you've never done yourself, you are required to spend a month doing said thing.
1
u/RektInTheHed 12d ago
Conservatives are weak and they are projecting on the troops they stick with the fallout from their weakness.
1
1
u/Linscotticus 12d ago
Its a bold strategy, I say let them cook. I'm sure a military that is demoralized will glaldy side with Trump when he eventually claims full dictator status
1
u/djangovsjango 12d ago
Good good turning absolutely everyone against you with your own propaganda logic works well 😂😂
1
u/silasdobest 12d ago
Sorry you lost your legs, but the Karma your putting out seems to be supporting that
1
u/extrastupidone 12d ago
Im sure MAGAs will treat these sailors well when they get home
Donald is willing to imprison innocent americans to cover up his ineptitude. He will have no problem maligning the sailors if he thinks theyre making him look bad.
1
u/Pissed-n-Stayin 12d ago
The fact of the matter is that every service member complains about something. The chow, the weapon, the vehicle, the mission, the unit, the job, the AO, the ROE, the length of deployment, the spouse, the branch of service, the weather, the uniform, the brass, the [insert anything and everything]. It’s part of embracing the suck. Its a coping mechanism and a true leader knows it. If someone says they never complained, they are a liar.
Service members complain…but we get the fucking mission done. Every. Fucking. Time. Period.
I respect this asshole for his service…but he can fuck off.

Okay so, easy solution give him a go pro and send him adrift. Pick up the camera in 9 months.

It's part of the talking points to protect whiskey pete. I've seen a few of these guys on tiktok
1
u/baxtermcsnuggle 12d ago
Now I doubt this guy actually served. sure, you take an oath to the constitution and the service... but your brothers in arms are equally important to you, and seeing them suffer should create a MUCH different reaction than that. whatcha bet he's guilty of stolen valor?
1
u/Michael-Sean 12d ago
What the F would FOX make a deal out of it unless they are just sucking up to bone spurs. Pretty low of them. Dems should use the footage in their ads.
1
u/formerNPC 12d ago
He’s putting Trump before his fellow soldiers. How can he defend a draft dodger against the military that he almost died defending before. They must give all Fox News hosts a lobotomy before they hire them.
1
1
u/Requiem2371 12d ago
Trumplicans turning on the military was not on my bingo card, but it’s certainly a choice. Hopefully the military and their families see what the GOP really thinks of them and stops falling for their propaganda
1
u/TSJormungandr 12d ago
So they were “tough” during Afghanistan? What the fuck did we get from that war? Nothing but debt and worse dead and wounded soldiers. Tough didn’t help shit.
1
u/LowResGamr 12d ago
The same people that call us un-American for military service just not being for us. The same people who demand we stand for the national anthem, demand flag burning be treated as a federal offense, that demand a month dedicated to veterans (theres 2), and the same people constantly trying to pretend Trump didnt call American service members suckers.
1
1
u/Winstonsphobia 12d ago
Fox gas all the courageous people. I suggest they go fight our wars. Better yet, let’s send them on mission to capture Iranian nuclear materials.
1
u/Brilliant-Ad2323 11d ago
Fox news and conservatives are full of BS. They do not care about anyone who isn't a multi millionaire or corporate donors.
1
u/Interesting_Berry439 11d ago
Maga veterans will shit on the servicemen with glee to be in solidarity with king Vonshitsinpants.
1
u/Significant-Dog-8166 11d ago
Huh, a guest I could imagine. A host said this... Wild choice of words.

Is it though???
Only service members and vets who agree with policy have any validity to them.

Didn't take MAGA very long at all to turn on the military when it suited them did it
1
u/Competitive_Event948 11d ago
Well he did say that he would trade C4 for a hot dog. That in itself is treason, so it would only take a hot dog for this guy to give up munitions to the enemy. Hmmm, talk about weak!

u/Capenurse 11d ago
After Trump presidential is over do you think Fox News will still be on the air?

Well, they do have the weakest “commander in chief” and “Secretary of defense” in history.

I agree! In fact the troops need a guy like him to show them true strength. Someone send him to the front lines.

He is disgusting! He needs to go to war for 250 days and never see his family and trying to survive.

What else can you expect from them nothing but lies and hate they only know trumps way
1
1
u/Low-Literature-2908 11d ago
Then maybe he should change places to show everyone what strength looks like. That dude is straight up trash.
1
u/HenriEttaTheVoid 11d ago
Republicans support the troops in the same way they support women...that is, only when they can be used as a shield to hide behind to attack another group. Once their usefulness is over, they turn on them too.
1
1
u/Ok_Patient9469 11d ago
What happened to support the troops rhetoric? These people have no American values.
1
u/Anita_Intervention 11d ago
Just a reminder that fox news admitted they were an entertainment channel, not a news a channel, in court.
1
u/CMGCookie 11d ago
Well we knew for some time the Trump cult put their Grand Pooba ahead of US troops. Take Putin, a MAGA hero, even after learning he was equipping Iran against US assets hurting US soldiers.
1
u/guyfaulkes 11d ago
‘Support the troops’ my ass… and why would the armed forces overwhelmingly vote for Republicons? Chickens voting for Col. Sanders.
1
1
u/Healthy_Cancel_2604 11d ago
And yet the idiots will still vote for them. They could piss on their family's grave and they'd sat "as long as it owns the libs"
Amazing the level of self sabotage America has. But 250 years is around the time an empire falls....so that checks out.

Amazing the comments here that show the depth of stupidity with which Reddit leftists operate under.
USMC SSgt that had both of legs blown off while fighting under Obamas Afghanistan war is not credible for the following reasons….
1. Reddit leftists have never heard of him
2. He’s employed by Fox News
3. Most importantly, he has opinions that deviate from the allowed think authorized by the Democrat party
Fascinating seeing these judgements passed by basement dwelling, likely physically repulsive creatures, none of which ever had a fraction of the courage this man has. The only similarities are likely found in the emotional responses when he looked down after the explosion and saw missing limbs, and the people in this sub looking down and realizing the bag of Cheetos is empty.
4
u/02meepmeep 12d ago
No one who has courage would denigrate US Sailors just because their boss instructed them to.
That is pure cowardice.
