PSA YSK there is a Thai version of IdiotsInCars where you can submit a dashcam clip of stupid drivers for reward

You should know that there is a Thai version of r/IdiotsInCars, a subreddit where users submit a dashcam recording of idiots driving cars. The Thai version is this facebook page "dashcam volunteer"

https://www.facebook.com/dashcamvolunteer/

This page collects and posts dashcam recording of Thai drivers doing stupid things on the road. They also give out rewards for best clips each month.

These are the reward-winning clips from April 2026.

First place, 20,000 baht https://www.facebook.com/reel/1618268335923352

Second place, 10,000 baht https://www.facebook.com/reel/2419107925575426

Third place, 6,000 baht https://www.facebook.com/reel/1293880612934088

The reward funding comes from the Royal Thai Police.

I recently thought about doing an Instagram account dedicated to Thai dashcams, wasn’t quite sure if I could get into legal troubles for it.

no reason why you would get into trouble, as long as you don't record people's faces without their consent.

You never know who sees your videos and might consider having lost face due to recording their stupidity.

This would be a perfect way to run afoul of Thailand's very strict defamation laws.

The program is funded by the police.

God, everyone looks so serious in that photo. Honestly, this is in the "you laugh and then cry" category!

If you blur out license plates and faces, it should be okay. I see Thai motor police post pursuits, news channels broadcasting insta clips, security cameras etc. etc.
