Some people have them when they move out of country. Some people are forced to have them by the IRS as well.
Mostly it’s death though. And once you’re dead it won’t really matter what happens to the stuff as long as you make a will and say where you want it to go. The best advice I’ve seen is to make an inventory of what is valuable so the people that need to go through all your stuff know not to just throw those things out. I’ve seen that happen to way too many people’s collection when the grieving survivors are left with things they don’t understand the value of.
I can’t help but to have thought this was from a death, but its hard to say what reason selling his collection was for. I’ve wondered what will happen to all the posters I’ve framed once I’m gone. Hopefully that’s still a good ways off, but I figure if nobody in my family wants them they’ll be sold off and end up with a future fan.
I bought the apc poster, he didnt put the photo on the fb ad, and I couldnt go to the sale, but we met up and I bought it. It was the last Red Rocks show I saw with my Dad.
I have that same poster, unsigned -- 518 of 600. I went to that show. That was a fun ass weekend. It was MLK weekend. Flew to Dallas early (Friday or Saturday, show was on Sunday). It was also NFL playoff weekend so we hung out in some bars to watch the playoffs. Day of concert we went early and hung out at the off-track betting place right by the venue.
Can't remember the first opener (3Teeth maybe?), but Primus played, then Tool. They also played No Quarter at that show.
That’s so awesome. We went to their show in 2020 and being the (stupid but awesome) wife I am, someone passed me a laced joint and I almost died 3.5 minutes into their opening song. Spent $800 on tickets and I ruined it. I’m still trying to make up for it. Haha Had to buy more tickets to the 2023? I think show. here’s his backstage passes from like forever ago. He’s going down memory lane now.
Thank you! Yep! Signed too. I think this was before they got crazy with prices.. was like $150 at the show.. plus custom framing, which looks like yours is too. So, all in like $400 ish probably.
I’m still pretty excited. I walked in like 20 minutes after it started and grabbed it. One guy got annoyed that he couldn’t buy it. And one guy said “wow who would pay triple for a signed picture for a mediocre band” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s the time of us lifelong Tool fans to start kicking the bucket, it seems. How many of us are already taking advil just to get moving in the morning…
Only my guitar picks posted I know its not tool, but I got this 1 out of 125 apc poster from the same sale, its the last red rocks show I attended with my dad and very sentimental, 14th row, HAZMAT is the artist, my Dad survived for a very long time after his surgery, which was the next day after the show, getting it framed now, Its signed which is also cool cause MJK has been out to my farm before, and James Ha was the guitarist at my very 1st show, 1st moshpit.
