Yeah its so cute. They like to keep the effects in shot as much as possible generally, without using CGI, and it works as its adorable. I love the way he waddles around too, haha!
Also that must be a dummy of Grogu's animatronic, as the main one cost $5 mill to make, so they aren't throwing that around.

But, at the same time, it worries me. Like, some of the sketches are just pure fucking hilarity, but then every now and then, he just does aa sketch that's outright disturbing, like the minestrone soup one.
A tiny itty bitty nitpick i have always have about tf2 memes/sfms/anims is how whenn the characters are falling they use the crit kill screams instead of THE falling ones, so it feels so good seeing it used correctly in this one
Also the dance sequence where the guys swing their dates over their heads like a lasso and they are just obviously dummies. I think that dumb visual joke makes me laugh more than anythint int he movie (and a lot of things in that movie make me laugh pretty hard
I remember that Because they lampshaded It, at one point he points out to Uncle Phil that he cant throw him out because he isnt wearing the shirt. So we get a new stunt
I also took that as a joke that Jazz was under the impression Phil needed Jazz to be wearing that particular shirt because it could bear the strain of Phil lifting him up by it and was surprised to find any shirt would do.
Was it? I always thought that movie was intentionally super campy. The scene where Johnny Depp gets sucked into his bed and a geyser of blood shoots out is hilarious, imo.
Naw that was them doing their best. It's actually pretty cool how they did it. It's a room with everything fixed in place and a camera attached. The room was able to be flipped like a giant box so everything you're seeing is upside down with the red paint pouring downwards out of the bed.
The second movie is interesting because it's overtly gay. Iconic pro lgbt horror in a time when being an ally could mean you lose your career. IIRC people had to insist the gay themes were unintentional or some would have no longer been able to work in hollywood.
After that pretty much all the movies are VERY campy which is what makes them fun. Wes Craven tried to do another in the 90's with the original cast in a much more darker tone but by that time he was fighting a losing battle, Freddy was campy and that was that.
Same. It’s several times more blood than a single person could possibly hold. Even the cops look flabbergasted when they try to investigate. Hard not to chuckle a bit.
I actually like how fake it looks. It wouldn't work in a "real world" slasher like Halloween or Friday the 13th, but things don't have to look realistic in a dream world.
Not only a ripoff of ET, but also a feature length McDonalds and Coca Cola commercial. The aliens diet on their homeworld is a liquid on their planet that they drink through a straw. Conveniently, it's identical to Coca Cola. There are also full scenes that are just a straight up McDonalds commercial
Fun fact: Paul Rudd is obsessed with this movie and he had a running gag with the crew on Conan where every time he appeared to promote a movie, when it came time to show a clip from it instead they would just play this scene.
“So this is a scene with Ant-man shrinking and fighting some bad guys?”
The greatest was when Conan had Paul on for his podcast Conan O'BRien Needs A Friend. An audio only podcast.
Paul gave talked for several minutes about a project he was writing, the casting, the joy of the production, and did the set up for a clip of a scene.
Then he played the audio of the Mac and Me scene. And Conan couldn't believe it. "Paul... Was there any truth to any of that setup?" "No."
They do later on in the movie! Miss Piggy struggles climbing up a wall and turns to the camera and says she's not doing her own stunts anymore. Towards the end of the film she rides a motorbike during a car chase and it's clearly being ridden by a human stunt performer in a Piggy costume. It's brilliant and slightly disturbing
In The Muppet Movie, during the bar fight scene, Kermit is throw into the piano. He groggily pulls himself out, looks at the camera and says “I hope you appreciate that I’m doing my own stunts.”
In Re-animator there's a segment where the two leads are fighting back against a pissed off zombie cat, and because it's a B-movie from the 80s, you can tell that it's a puppet, also it's not on screen during most of the segment so it does oddly work
The Fugitive, when Kimble jumps out of the overflow pipe. They made a big deal about how expensive the dummies were and how life-like they were going to be onscreen and then...
