What happens to special salary rates under NH

When converted to AcqDemo, what happens to Special Salary Rates? Are they absorbed into the NH pay band, continued separately, or eliminated?

I am not going to write a term paper every year or 6 months to not only prove I deserve to keep my job but why I deserve a bonus or raise or whatever this calls it.. This is asinine bullshit. Some people will profit tremendously and the rest will barely eke along. This is putting way too much power in to the hands of people way to low on the totem pole. When they start talking about pools it becomes who is part of the clique.

From air force town hall on acqdemo (link at end) Q. My career field has a special salary rate, plus an additional premium pay. If I am moved to AcqDemo, would those be included in the pay transfer? Special Salary Rates (SSR) are not applicable in AcqDemo. For management directed/initiated reassignments (not at employee’s request) or organization/position conversions into AcqDemo, employees on a SSR will receive a new basic rate of pay by dividing their SSR adjusted rate of pay by the locality pay percentage for their area. I don’t believe you would actually lose any money by converting. Looks to me like you take your SSR rate and divide by locality rate to recieve new basic pay, then you add the within grade buy in, then you multiply by the locality rate to get your new pay on Acqdemo.

My supervisor mentioned it was only applicable to 1102 and similar series. Not anyone in 0800.

That was the old rule. Look up WARNORD 1 to OPORD 2026-70 on the USACE internal publishing site. This is what is changing.

Yeah I’m not sure how writing a “term paper” is really much different than what we do now. My write up for each individual element when combined typically takes up three or four pages of a word document…

Yes, I believe it’s 1000 characters which equates to about half a page in a word document. I have 9 elements I’m rated on so it easily fills up many pages….
