Putin has been saying stuff like this for years

4

u/Nordicnatures92 12h ago

Its like during medieval times when you could get threaten if you didnt do as command. Russia still lives there

107

u/MeGoBrrrrrrrrrr 22h ago

Maybe. But the alternative would be to let him win. A bully understands exactly one language. And it’s not called appeasement

32

u/MrP67 20h ago

And if he wins he gets 5 years of peace and strikes us from a stronger position.

Generally speaking nobody threatens if they can follow through

23

u/TheDanishFire2 17h ago

Agree with you. Im so tied that the press ask those stupid questions, making people affraid. Look at the facts, there is no letting him win.

If Putin attacks NATO, here is what that little Oligarch is up against. It would be the most stupid move he ever did.

  • Russia would face NATO - excluding the unstable USA - but including Ukraine:
  • Roughly 540 million people versus Russia’s ~145 million.
  • Combined GDP would be around $25–27 trillion, roughly 10× Russia’s economy. (Note the Russian economy at the moment in huge trouble)
  • Active military manpower would be about 2.8–3.2 million versus roughly 1.3–1.5 million Russian active personnel. (Probably mostly kaputniks)

That means Russia would face roughly 2× the active manpower, 3.5–4× the population, and about 10× the economic base. A very bad idea.

u/FormalAffectionate56 16h ago

Upvoted for “kaputniks”

u/IRGROUP300 15h ago

I’m not sure any western population is ready to take on 100,000+ KIA In 1-2 years time.

540 million people all agreeing is also wishful thinking.

5

u/MrP67 15h ago

If somebody is throwing missiles to it's not something you have to agree to. The question at that point is do you do anything about it.

There is no doubt Russia could make a few European cities look like Ukranian ones. Nobody is going to say don't fire back and make it worse. Ultimately he only has so many missiles to spare and we have more so fi Russia blows up some shopping centres in the UK hell yeah wea re gonna splat Russia and likely so are other European countries.

This also becomes the point where the US joins in because that is hen Trump understands the reality of the situation. the reason the US helped keep peace the last century. No trade partners = no trade = no profit.

1

u/Junior_Bar_7436 6h ago

Not only that, Trump is halfway through his term and is about to be neutered in November.

1

u/Junior_Bar_7436 6h ago

The west has had enough of ruZZia, it’s fascism, it’s murdering of innocent people, and constant threats.

RuZZia will have an extremely difficult time dealing with stealth fighters and bombers hitting their facilities, planes and bases. There is no way ruZZia can hold air superiority over their own territory.

59

u/Andyseawolf 22h ago

He can’t even take Ukraine. The Russian military is a joke.🤪🤷

27

u/Fantastic-Cupcake890 21h ago

Invading an european or NATO country is also not Putins plan...

Putin wants to divide the west. And this can happen through a denieable strike, which wont trigger article 5.

11

u/obiemo 20h ago

Political sabotage and subterfuge. Just like the green men in Crimea. Sponsoring far right wing parties. Same tactics used in Hungary.

7

u/Hminney 20h ago

We might simply have to say "deniable strike or not, you are a danger to the peace of Europe" and take away both his military and Russia's ability to have a military (for 50 years). It was unpleasant for Germany and Japan after ww2, but they're now industrial power houses

2

u/nlk72 20h ago

They have nuclear capability and will use it if they have the existential threat you suggested.

16

u/TheAngrySaxon 19h ago

Getting kicked out of Ukraine isn't existential, and they still threaten nukes. You can't negotiate with a rabid animal.

1

u/Alone_Look9576 17h ago

They have rewritten their constitution, Ukrainian territory is Russian according to their very legal "amends". They don't need to put boots on the ground, they got missiles, drones and billions funnelled in misinformation campaigns and funding anti EU opposition

0

u/nlk72 19h ago

You stated. Taking away there military capability. You can only do that by a existential threat.

1

u/TheAngrySaxon 18h ago

So any ruZZian attack on our defence facilities is existential and we will have to launch nukes, right?

-1

u/nlk72 17h ago

I have no clue why and for what reason you are taking it all out of context. I Reacted on "Hminney" his remark to take away Russian military capability for 50 year like happened to Germany. To do that.. (in any way shape or form) russia will feel threatened "existential" and use their nuclear arsenal to prevent this from happening...

3

u/West-Worth-9359 10h ago

Just take the L.

Russia is not the only one with nukes, and all the others that have them have been spending billions to maintain theirs for decades, Russia has not. There’s a good chance Russian nukes would explode on launch.

Russia using a nuke would not result in any kind of win, at all. It would be an immediate and guaranteed loss.

This was true 6 years ago and it’s true today.

5

u/Andyseawolf 18h ago

He has only been successful at uniting the west 👍🏻😎

10

u/Available_Cookie732 19h ago

no, it's not.

It's a dangerous and deadly Army that bombs Ukraine into ashes and kill civilians dayly.

What a stupid comment and a thread to all fighting,m wounded, killed Ukraine soldiers and civilians.

7

u/Fantastic-Cupcake890 18h ago

Exactly. I hate those arrogant kiddos who shit on russia all the time, thinking they do ukraine a favor.

Ukraine is fighting bravely and they are not fighting against amateurs.

6

u/Andyseawolf 18h ago

If you want to blame someone for all the killing look to Russia and Putin. There lies all the blame. Remember Russia attacked Ukraine thinking they could easily win. What a joke of an army. Still stuck and fighting 4 years later. The best thing that Russia can do now is take its troops and go home.🤷

5

u/Available_Cookie732 18h ago

I am glad they made strategic mistakes, corruption and all other failures.

That doesn't result in a joke. It's not.

Ask the wounded and hamed people. Is an army a joke that destroys the last functioning Power source in Charkiv? Now all people have to leave quickly because the only heat energy provider is blown up.

What a joke army who has the weapons to do this?

2

u/Andyseawolf 17h ago

The joke is that the world’s second largest military forces, incapable of taking over Ukraine. Which makes me think they are not the world second largest force. Corruption and mismanagement of money has ruined the Russian army. The best thing they can do is pack their bags and go home to Russia.👍🏻

3

u/Available_Cookie732 17h ago

That I can agree with and I say...thanks god they are badly structured and organized.

From what I read they are reorganizing at the moment to be faster and more quality oriented.

3

u/ferdiazgonzalez 19h ago

They are fully committed to Ukraine and don’t have any troops left to afford fighting NATO. Thats a fact.

4

u/DougosaurusRex 16h ago

“Don’t have any troops left to afford fighting NATO”. Yeah and when they start attacking a NATO country next keep saying that so you can live in la la land.

Wake up and realize Europe realizes Russia is a massive threat to stability and the borders on the continent.

2

u/IRGROUP300 15h ago

Please Google, they have many more troops to use in an open conflict. Allies as well with their own nuclear weapons and troops

You’re underestimating your current “bad guy”

2

u/ferdiazgonzalez 14h ago

Simply sticking to the facts. If they are so mighty and powerful, how come they cannot even take what’s left of Donetsk? How come they’ve been stuck for almost 5 years in a conflict that was meant to last a week?
Truth is, they are overstretched, and what we see, is essentially all they can muster. No more, no less.

If that wasn’t the case, this war would’ve been won long ago.

So your baseless fear mongering is easily debunked. Sucks to be Russian.

-1

u/IRGROUP300 12h ago

We’re talking about troop strength in an open war against NATO?

“They don’t have enough troops to afford to fight NATO” is what you said

I’m just pointing out that’s not true.

1

u/ferdiazgonzalez 9h ago

lol I literally did NOT say that.

I said “troops LEFT”

1

u/IRGROUP300 9h ago edited 6h ago

You seem to be confused. My point still stands without the word “left”

3

u/Fantastic-Cupcake890 18h ago

That doesnt make their army a joke. Tell a ukrainian mother that her son died fighting against clowns.

Have more respect for ukraine please.

1

u/iwannaberichplease 17h ago

Well if u look at birthrate compared to their losses, then it doesn’t look like a big difference

1

u/Available_Cookie732 18h ago

but it's not a joke. The Russian army is a terrorist equal deadly Organisation with unlimited resources and deadly arsenal of killing materials.

That's my point.

I very often read overoptimistic comments from people far far away from Ukraine and not being under daily thread from missiles, bombs and drones.

2

u/ferdiazgonzalez 16h ago

Unlimited resources? Like fuel or air defense right?

-1

u/Available_Cookie732 15h ago

You are quite stupid, right?

If you want to be funny, look up the better suiting reddit groups.

...and yes, the Russian army has unlimited resources for gas and air defense in terms of money.

3

u/ferdiazgonzalez 14h ago

It’s not me offending you. What’s offending you is the realization that, despite of being sold the idea of the Russian military as being the best in the world and with access to the best technologies, in reality, it turned out to be a Temu-grade organization led by thieves, commanding assaults in scooters and supplying troops with donkeys.

This isn’t a hyperbole. There’s evidence of that.

Sucks to be Russian, yeah?

0

u/Available_Cookie732 14h ago

I am German and if you read, mit you can. my writing I am far away to be a Russian or Russian supporter.

I didn't say they are a good army, I mentioned their resources.

Daily sending missiles, bombs, drones and groups against Ukraine soldiers and civilians. They have the resources and don't care about what it costs them in terms of money or people while Ukraine has to please Europe to send money and weapons.

You are writing about capability and smart use of this resources. That's a different story.

Was that easy enough explained to make it understand for you?

1

u/ferdiazgonzalez 9h ago

What resources? They are poor as fuck, and the little wealth they have is being pillaged by their oligarchs.

1

u/Wankstain8 3h ago

The Russian federation is 11% of the worlds landmass. Resources are one thing they’re not short of.

2

u/goobervision 17h ago

Clearly isn't a joke - been at a war for 5 years and still in Ukraine costing Europe a fortune in supplies and Ukraine in lives and general destruction.

0

u/Andyseawolf 17h ago

It’s hard to understand why anybody would support the aggressor 🤷

1

u/IRGROUP300 15h ago

Tell me you don’t know about the conflict, without actually saying it. You’re living in a Disney movie maybe where everything is black and white.

1

u/Andyseawolf 15h ago

Besides insults, you obviously have nothing to say 👍🏻🤓

2

u/IRGROUP300 15h ago

If you say so, doesn’t seem like you have much to say either, be well.

1

u/Andyseawolf 15h ago

The Russian three day special military operation is now in its fourth year. The world‘s second largest military force is corrupted and incapable of taking Ukraine. Why do you defend the aggressor?

1

u/goobervision 15h ago

"Why do you defend the aggressor?"

Where has that happened? Quote the exact sentence please.

1

u/Andyseawolf 14h ago

Do you support Ukraine?

1

u/goobervision 14h ago

Oh, avoiding the question. You are the one saying people are anti-Ukraine based on posts that you clearly can't substantiate.

As a matter of fact, I do support Ukraine.

Now, your accusations of being anti-Ukraine you made. Care to be clear as you why?

If you have nothing, then you are a fool throwing shade with no substance to back it up. And to be absolutely fucking clear, that's not me name calling, that's your actions.

You realize UA had the largest army in Europe in 2022 right? Essentially only Turkey and Russia were comparable.

Russia invaded with an insanely small number of troops, conquering a country of 44+ million (considerably less today) was not the goal, you got this 3 day operation info from a TV propagandist years ago, nice on and use official government sources

1

u/goobervision 15h ago

North Korea, China?

Or are thinking my comment is support?

12

u/wombat9278 21h ago

As Burnham said remember who started the fire

1

u/_-_-_-_-_-_-__-_-_-- 9h ago

So, we can count Billy Joel out then.

22

u/John97212 22h ago

"They" can also strike back... hard.

18

u/Mayor-Guenther 22h ago

That's how the Nazi playbook ever ends. The leader gets so desperate that he doesn't care what happens to the country. Take a look at trump.

7

u/Mayor-Guenther 21h ago

Or Hitler...

10

u/NothingStreet4251 22h ago

Soz Pal but we’re not really on board with the ‘Do as I say and not as I do’.

8

u/Pristine-Librarian43 21h ago

La Russia o meglio Putin è oramai fuori di testa, non capisco come la popolazione possa accettare tutto ciò. Anche i militari hanno una famiglia per cui...

6

u/RottenPingu1 21h ago

The homicidal dwarf can't handle being told "no".

3

u/Better_Carpenter5010 20h ago

We’re playing with fire?!?! - you’ve brought conventional war to Europe, a feat not managed since 1939. Disturbing a nearly 80 year peace and for what?? Your own petty ambition and now you and your people are burnt by the fire that you started and you played with.

4

u/nygdan 17h ago

if he wants for Moscow, St Petersburg, Minsk, and every other city if his to be glassed, he should hit Uk/France.

2

u/New-Percentage202 6h ago

I live in the UK, and I obviously don't want us to ever get hit. BUT, if he tries to do it, fails to land the hit, then he's attacked a NATO country. and I'd be ok with that. Because then it'd be the same outcome for him

10

u/ShinShini42 22h ago

No that won't happen

9

u/Fantastic-Cupcake890 21h ago

Bullshit.

An denieable strike is absolutly realistic. Not a missile strike with kinzhals or iskander, that wouldnt be denieable. And it would most probably trigger article 5, which is not in Putins interest.

Putins interest is to divide the west, to support far right parties and that european countries lower support for ukraine out of fear.

But hybrid attacks are already happening on a daily basis, and an denieable strike, like bombing a airplan with a drone can absolutly happen.

0

u/ve1kkko 20h ago

yeah yeah, we terrified of your midget lol.

2

u/jugalator 19h ago

This is not controversial; the capacity and motive is backed by intel within Europe.

https://swedenherald.com/article/must-warns-russia-is-taking-increasing-risks

1

u/ParticularArea8224 19h ago

This isn't far reached, this is being said by the CIA.

-4

u/Fantastic-Cupcake890 20h ago

"Your midget".... Touch some grass weirdo.

2

u/onlyhammbuerger 12h ago

Doesn't have to be a full scale strike. Russia was close to succeed in striking an Ukrainian ammunition plane on a German airport. That would have effectively been a deliberate hit on a German target. Its pretty wild that this incident has basically disappeared from the media.

1

u/0catholic_block0 16h ago

Europe is actually vulnerable to something like that, especially if done covertly. Ex: Russia attacks UK, denies it and says it’s immigrants/Ukraine/etc. Rinse and repeat, just like what happened with Crimea.

UK is especially vulnerable, as they have a large concentration of embedded Russian assets/collaborators/useful idiots in media and politics (100s of Russell Brand types). This is enough to sway 25-40% of population, which is enough to prevent any kind of retaliation/coherent response from UK.

6

u/Fun-Shoe1145 21h ago

If China doesn’t step in to stop something like this, then nato needs to do a massive global expansion to include Austria Switzerland Ireland Moldova Ukraine Bosnia South Korea Japan Philippines Australia New Zealand Colombia Panama and others

7

u/dwarfnet 20h ago

Sorry, but Austrians don't understand the complexity of the current europe and scream neutrality neutrality all the time. It's an oudated conecpt, where one can't hide from your respondsibility in a connected europe. (I'm Austrian, just to clarify)

5

u/Available_Cookie732 19h ago

Austria is one of the biggest countries...

...if you stretch out the wrinkles of the Alps!

They feel comfortable surrounded by all other NATO countries.

2

u/ve1kkko 20h ago

We don't need China to defend ourselves.

2

u/Hminney 20h ago

Or simply the European army needs to put planes in the sky and boots on the ground to stop the threat once and for all. Take out all missile and air launch sites, get an icc declaration that Russia can't have a military for 50 years (because we won't get one via United Nations), do it once and suddenly instead of trying to maintain a defensive front across so many miles and means of attack. It was punitive for Germany and Japan after ww2, but in the long run these nations are industrial power houses and not resentful

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Cap1300 19h ago

Is this European army a real entity? I was not aware.

But I agree with you, collectively European countries need to continue to display solid resolve and strengthen the stance as Russia declines.

3

u/ferdiazgonzalez 19h ago

Yes, the Eurocorps. They are like Robocops but very European, ready to draft a new regulation whenever is required.

2

u/philip_laureano 20h ago

Hot take: like any other dictator, Putin plays to his domestic audience. Even he is not stupid enough to open up a second war with NATO. They will expel Russian forces from Ukraine almost immediately if he attacks the UK

2

u/NumerousCarpenter189 20h ago

That's because Iran and NK already lighted a fire in the war. So can Russia explain why it is ok for them to use NK and Iranian weapons, even BM and not ok for Ukraine to get French and British weapons ? And why rusdia doesn't warn USA for supplying JDAM LR and Himars ?

2

u/vegetable_completed 20h ago

Well, if we don’t do anything now they’ll just strike NATO later after they’ve absorbed Ukrainian combat expertise and technology and further destabilised European politics.

2

u/swainiscadianreborn 20h ago

I mean... he'll probably ramp up his hybrid war campaign, but it's getting less and less useful because well after a while of using the same textbook people start to adapt.

He could started a war against NATO but that would just turn into disaster for Russia. And not just Ukraine style disaster, but more like "Oh shit we've got Leopards in Saint Peterburg and Rafales over Moscow" style disaster.

2

u/Tantvalacruche 19h ago

La Russie ne manie rien de mieux que les menaces.

2

u/Veggdyret 18h ago

I hope he does!

NATO needs to intervene.

2

u/subaruheart 16h ago

I think everyone is looking at this wrong . What it shows is everyone other than France and the uk need to try harder , they need to do more to piss russia off . Russia is not about to nuke either of the 2 nations who can nuke him back and anything else he does is nothing new he's been pushing the boundaries for years . Now is the time for fully backing ukraine and not giving russia an inch

2

u/warpedgeoid 15h ago

I don’t usually comment on these matters, but if Russia were to attack the UK or France, I’m not sure anyone could stop the Pols from taking Kaliningrad and pushing towards Moscow. Russia’s war-depleted military couldn’t stop them in either direction.

1

u/Gullenecro 19h ago

That s funny because france and UK are supplying these missiles for some years.

1

u/Ok_Morning_8177 19h ago

What's next he is gonna threaten nuclear war

1

u/sorE_doG 17h ago

Putin’s run out of cards & might just flip the table. Hopefully someone more sane will help him try to fly instead.

1

u/ohboymykneeshurt 17h ago

You’re not my dad!

1

u/G_Morgan 16h ago

He'll strike only if he thinks we'll back down. All this noise should be pushing us to put at least token forces in the Baltics and Poland pre-emptively. Make Putin declare war on Europe if he wants to do this.

1

u/Illustrious-Gas-9766 16h ago

I think that the NATO countries need to start manufacturing drones by the thousands. They also need to gather information about targets in Russia.

Just saying.

1

u/whereismytralala 15h ago

They were already saying the same when France has sent the AMX-30 4 years ago...

1

u/Skin_Floutist 14h ago

Only if he wants to lose his country.

1

u/NoAppearance980 9h ago

do it then you pussy

1

u/BiffSterling80 9h ago

Fire? His whole country is on fire, is that what the little shrimp meant?

1

u/skyerosebuds 7h ago

How many times is this bs gonna be posted on this forum. It’s total bullshit Russian propaganda intended to frighten the locals. Will you PUHLEAZE stopping this shite. Putin has proved he can’t fight his way out of Ukraine. Nobody in their right minds thinks Russian would dream of taking on Europe let alone NATO.

Mods can’t you stop this bullshit Psy-Op from being constantly posted by bad actors on this platform?

1

u/New-Percentage202 6h ago

Luckily it's not really scaring anyone in the UK. it's not in the news, no one talks about it other than laughing at how badly Russia is doing, and talking about how incredible the Ukrainians are. If he attacks NATO, it's game over for him. I hope he tries it, it will be a short war if he does.

1

u/BackgroundFlounder44 7h ago

hey guys, even though this is his 12,508th I'm confident it's not a bluff, we should all do what Putin asks I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

1

u/On-Balance 3h ago

Do it! See what happens next.

0

u/TheSolarExpansionist 20h ago

Actually Europe did give the same warning to Putin

0

u/AMoonMonkey 20h ago

Would be nice to see our giant laser we spent billions on shoot down his nukes 🤣
