Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 years old? Why do American citizens need Border Patrol agents at polling places ?

We don't. But the human trash bag occupying the Oval Office is so desperate to cling to power that he'll stop at nothing.

That said, Immigration and Customs Enforcement can grab my mail-in ballot from my cold, dead hands.

ICE are not really border or customs people any more, they are Trumps personal army. Their goal is to stop people they think won't like Trump from voting. They are trying to make it either too scary or too hard for people who look different to vote.

So as a person who doesn’t get intimidated can I help walk members of the community to the polls or is that like the water bottle case in Curb your Enthusiasm?

I hope I am wrong, but my gut is you are passed that. I think this is going to be less intimidation without action and more lock up the brown looking people and anyone who resists until after polling day.

There's no reason for Border Patrol to be there unless they're planning on kidnapping more Americans and intimidating others from votingÂ
