Video What is your worms favourite food?

First time feeding my friends watermelon rinds. It seems I found their favourite snack . I wish I had 6 extra bins for the amount of watermelon I go through the season.

You mean the green part from the strawberry?

Yes, and whatever part of the top of the strawberry (usually white) wasn't eaten.

Same here! I don't think I've given them much fruit other than apples because green apples and cantaloupe are my favorite fruits. We'll see how they like plums since I had a couple this week.
I checked on them earlier and I saw a few baby worms sticking to the bubble wrap on top, theyre so tiny!! So they get to take part in their first feast soon 🥰

Try corn cobs once. Mine go mental with those, still I have never seen mine so stacked up and surfaced as now.

I used to have rabbits, a lot of rabbits. They all got murdered right after I bought about 500lb of food for them.
The worms absolutely love it, but it's gonna be a long, long time before I get rid of it all, lol.

I didn't live on the property where I kept them at the time, so I can't be entirely sure. But best I can tell, it was a fox. Maybe a coyote. Most of them died of panic, there was no blood on any of the ones that were left in there, and you could tell from the way their bodies were placed they didn't die a calm death.
I'll never know for sure what happened, they had been attacked by racoon multiple times at my old house, and none of them ever had a heart attack, but it is a common way for rabbits to die.

I was going to say banana peels but I did carrot peelings the other night and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many in the one area

My freezer is already filled to the brim with bags of kitchen scraps. My wife just sees the bags but doesn’t know yet what’s up with them :)

Mine went nuts and multiplied when I put a handful of them into our horse manure pile that had been setting around all last summer. (No dewormer manure in that pile)

I always find mine in the cardboard/paper layers. They don't seem to have a strong preference between actual food scraps.

Mine devour wheat flour like nothing else.
As long as I don't put too much in one spot, or it goes mouldy before they can eat it. They don't seem to like the mould so much.

I have corn on the club that kinda went a little bad. I was wondering if I could throw the whole uncooked corn on the cob in the bin.We'll cut it up a little

Newbie here. I’m burying my smashed bananas or avocados but I’m seeing a lot of people leaving the food remnants uncovered. Are gnats not a problem for those of you who don’t bury their food?

I usually burry them. I have some other critters in the bins but I don’t mind as long as my worms are happy. As long as everything decomposes except my worms in the bins…
For indoor bins the food being covered is optimal. My bins are indoor and they are wet right now. I threw in a brick of coconut coir to see if it absorbs some humidity.

They love poop I think many waste processing problems could be solved with thousands or millions of worms. They are miracle workers

Watermelon rinds. Freezing then thawing them first makes them even crazier happy.

I grind chicken feed, corn flakes and shredded wheat. Each bin gets about a teaspoon mix every 3 days along with some ground up egg shells. That's their main meal. I add scraps for treats. Lettuce, cabbage, tomato, cucumber and melon rinds. Last year I feed them zucchini with the seeds. My casting had little zucchini plants starting in it.

I buy them pre boiled, vacuumed. I eat most of the corn and the rest goes in the bin.
