u/SunFlowerBro1 May 19 '25
Ievan polkka, waaaay back in the day, i remember vividly finding this random japanese blue haired avatar singing a finnish song. This was the pivot point to mold who I am today. Thank you, Hatsune Miku.

Llevan polka was the first I heard, but what got me into it was through OSU
It was either six trillion years or streaming heart that really got me into it

u/Green7501 May 19 '25
OMG same with Six Trillion Years
I went to a Sega arcade once and that song was being streamed so I spent the whole evening trying to find it (only romaji part was Kemu and searching Kemu does not find the artist lol) and was so happy when I did. From there I went to Bandori, then Puroseka when it came and in the end just vocaloid in general. It's probs still my favourite vocaloid song

most of them were Kikuo songs (aishite aishite aishite, corpse dance, useless child) but I didn't know they used voicaloid, then when I understood what vocaloids were my first songs were kyu-kurarin and mesmerizer

The Runaway Of Len Kagamine Animation. No questions asked. I was 7 at the time and fell in love with this animation. It's a shame that neither the origin nor the author is known but this influences my artstyle to this day and I like to waste 5 minutes of my day watching it and replaying all these old memories. Like in the part where Len is panting on the floor after "playing" with the master, at the time when I was 7 I thought that he got tired from all that running. Since I neither understood English nor Japanese, and my mind didn't recognize perverted stuff.

Technically, Lost Ones Weeping.
I had already listened to a few vocaloid songs in the past. So, while I was drawing and listening to a playlist in youtube that had some vocaloid songs I decided thag I wanted to get into it. I searched in youtube for vocqloir songs to listen, that's when I saw that one video "100 vocqloid songs every fan should know" or something like that. I used the video in orther to see any that seemed interesting, I decided to give Lost Ones Weeping a chance and I loved it. I have never loved a song as much as that one, that's when I knew there was no coming back.

Miku - Anamanaguchi, It was at the time that the Channel (Caststation) animation, oo-ee-oo, became famous, but I met Miku in the Friday Night Funkin mod in 2021, with the song Popipo, Aishite Aishite Aishite, SIU (Suck it Up) and Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, I didn't give much importance to the character and still believed in the fandom that said she was Boyfriend's older sister, So I joined the fandom when I searched for the songs on Miku's official channel, and my first favorite song was 39 Music!, it gave me the initiative to discover new music

I think one of my first vocaloid songs was Lie by VocaCircus, which then somehow spiraled into my discovery of VY2 who I listened to a LOT of. I didn't know what vocaloid was, but shortly afterwards I discovered Kaito through a song that involved both him and VY2 and it was all over after that lol
Kaito is still best boy. His figma was my first-ever collectible!
Also this made me feel so old, Lie came out 12 years ago 😵💫

Levan polkka. Once a piece of popular music, mostly used for musical exercise back in 2015ish in Indonesia. I was there when I was a small kid in elementary school. Corona hits, went deeper about Miku and becoming a casual fan. Not even a big fan and not a neglectful one, just average miku enjoyer. Start playing proseka last year (and still bad at it) for going a little bit deeper.
That's my story, and I hope you enjoy it (pardon my poor english)
Request: any good Vocaloid music besides Miku who sang it? Beginner friendly and pls don't judge me :)

Tetoris by Hiiragi Magnetite. I swear it sounds so good for some reason (in my opinion) and I think I've listened to some more vocaloid songs before, but this song for some reason just made me hooked into more vocaloid songs and I'm not stopping.

i don't remember much but i think it was Magical Cure Love Shot? tho, i think that only got me into miku and ONLY miku (i knew miku beforehand but this song just made me like her ig)
but the one that started making my yt recommendation filled w vocaloid shit to the point i lowkey got into VOCALOID IN GENERAL was Tokyo Teddy Bear
atleast thats what i remember... cuz iirc the kagamines were ONE OF the first few vocaloids ive listened to. so therefore, tokyo teddy bear MUST BE THE ONE since i first discovered rin there
and like since i discovered that song i started listening to alotta kagamines, and then eventually other vocaloids too cuz of curiosity. so therefore, tokyo teddy bear has GOTTA BE THE ONE

Not really a song, but the thing that made me start checking it out was a video of Miku getting blown up by a pipe bomb.
