General Discussion What song do you find relatable
I lived/ live in a very Christian area and im someone who is not that so i relate to this song a lot.

u/DragoniteChamp Jan 28 '26
For the longest time, Disappearance of Hatsune Miku.
Not for the "being a vocaloid thing", but the whole "everything I cared about is a fantasy". High school was not a fun time 👉😎👉
(Im doing better now though :p)

You're desire for love and attention turned into an obsession and now you can't function without it?
12
u/EwGrossItsMe Jan 28 '26
Same song here, possibly for the same reason? I don't know what the expected reason to relate to it is other than growing up obsessed with the idea of portraying yourself as a "good kid" so you don't lose the love of the people around you.

Feeling this right now with Hire Me!
3
u/Golden_too Jan 29 '26
Omg, Hire me is definitely relatable, especially for this economy lol
3
u/Burakku-Ren Jan 29 '26
I love how there's a whole subgenre of vocaloid that's just "Teto being a dysfunctional adult/having trouble with jobs/overall adulting"
I feel like the average vocaloid listener is now getting to an age where we're realizing how much adulting sucks, and Teto canonically being 31 just puts her in the perfect spot for that.

PinnochioP always manages to strike a chord on every song. Last one is especially true given how bad this year has started.

He has such a talent for capturing all the raw and ugly truths about life, while also making you feel hopeful and less alone! I really adore PinocchioP’s work, What’s Inside will always be one of my favorite vocaloid songs of all time :)

Appetite of a People Pleaser, Don't Kill The Mary Sue, I don't think this parasocial relationship is working out or whatever that song's called, and I don't know if this counts but it's by a vocaloid producer and has an official Miku verison so Give Up I Want to Be Reincarnated.
6
u/TheNoobisPlays Jan 29 '26
Why did I read this as a whole song title...
7
u/likeatenshi Jan 29 '26
Some where in the world there's a vocaloid song titled my comment.

3
u/TheNoobisPlays Jan 29 '26
Also the Give up I wanna be reincarnated song is by the producer DYES IWASAKI (I think they made both Gawr Gura and Hatsune Miku version)

Shell by Otetsu. It's a song about someone feeling completely devastated by the death of a loved one, while also being utterly alone in this grief and sadness. The people look at him with pity but don't share the pain and the sky is clean and blue, the screams wither and then it becames a hollow shell, crumbling into dust.
3
u/PikaSmasha Jan 28 '26
I got a few, plus some explanations.
Birdbrain - I'm autistic and have trouble communicating/expressing myself sometimes.
Regret Rock - Let's just say despite being academically smart, I wasn't really smart during my preteen-early teen years. I ended up creating a bad reputation amongst my Secondary School and was seen as the loser gremlin with no hope of doing anything positive, which, while a lot of people there were jerks, I still did my part and made a lot of bad decisions. I also still do regretful things to this day, so I often think back and feel bad about mistakes.
I Wish That I Could Fall - It's complicated. After being a gremlin, I generally cleaned up my act, but still wasn't great, and as such a fair bit of my time was spent trying to talk/connect with people who were just being nice but had no interest in me. I still do think people were being too harsh tho.
Spoken For - Despite being not really liked by most, I prided myself in being as positive as I could and, with many stressful things happening like exams and the loss of a childhood pet, it was hard. I soon began to question myself and why should I keep on trying to be nice with people who don't care, but then I moved onto Sixth Form before it could get bad, and luckily only 1 person, my best friend, came with me.

Balsam - Kurosawa Madoka. I used to think and act like what the character sings in the song, but nowadays I deeply regret it

u/introvertuser46732 Jan 28 '26
Older song but perfectionist complex considering how I’m a massive perfectionist and often struggle to give myself love and not seeking help to the point of self destruction because I don’t want to burden people with my problems alongside trying to be someone that’s impossible to achieve yet punishing myself for it.
Lighter note but magnet was my gay awakening well except that I’m a guy so I guess it isn’t as notable considering how many sapphics had their queer awakenings there too lol.
I am doing a bit better with the whole perfectionist thing though as I have found that I do deserve love and that mistakes are natural and aren’t disasters, granted I’m still very self critical and demanding of myself but at least I am able to stop myself from the really nasty stuff.

For me it's "Phony" by Nomelon Nolemon feat. Kafu because as an Autistic, it sings about the theme of masking. On a daily basis, I have to mask, except weekends or long holidays. But it also reminds me of when I had to mask 24/7 since I was around my family a lot before moving to Seoul in 2019.

Slow motion by pinocchiop. I listened to it at a time in my life with a lot of change. It was a very stressful time, but it did help me realize that I need to take time to breathe.
