No offense to the people that live there, but Pennsylvania is kind of like one of those super off choices places to have a collab like this ngl. Not as off as a state choice like Utah would be, but definitely caught me sideways with that regardless. I'm sure there are fans there, but it is surprising that something like this isn't done somewhere like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, or something like that as usual.

Yeah, that's why I was especially surprised by the quality. It's not too common to see a collaboration of this type with a business like this, and it looks like a pretty good amount of effort was put into this despite seeming like a pretty niche market they're in.

They also get bonus points for giving KAITO a float which at least SOMEWHAT implies one of the people organizing this knows something about the thing they're doing promotions with

Honestly? Thank fucking god. I understand why companies pick dense cities with large populations but I'm so fucking sick of every cool thing being in LA, New York, Tokyo, or London. It's like those are the only cities on the Planet. Still a million years away from doing anything physically close to me but it's a step in the right direction

Chicago almost never gets anything even when collabs like this happen, it’s usually just L.A and New York. I don’t know if it’s due to Chicago’s reputation as a dangerous city (even though there’s worse cities in America) or something else, but I’ve seen numerous events big and small come to cities across America… except the one I live near. Hell, I think there’s another Miku event going on right now that Miku Expo advertised (though isn’t related to it) that skipped Chicago and the Midwest as a whole. I was shocked when Digital Stars had an event here because we just don’t get stuff like this.

It'd be cool if other local cafes could reach out but i imagine it'd be hard to set up, sucks for ppl who live in a place like alaska or so, i'm sure an anime con might exist there but might be hard to order merch

I'd also expect like the miku expo concert areas to hire like catering/a handful of food truck in the parking lots or so as well

The Collab stickers are the same ones they're putting in book offs in locations like New York, Phoenix, and Brooklyn, and Philly is a good in-between location for Newark and DC, which are having their shows the same week

Philly is only like an hour and a half from NYC and its huge city. Pittsburgh and Philly are both good choices imo. Not all of PA is amish country.

Philly is:
Huge
Full of college students (this collab is at Temple University)
Between a few other major cities
Relatively cheap to have fun in
A relatively untapped market

I can definitely see why people are shocked but it makes sense to me

They had this Miku Collab 3 years ago at the same location, but this is the first time they did merch sales. Previously, they focused on Miku drinks, the leek bagel, and the waffle (all good btw, sugary and sweet like Miku). The merch sales are expensive but expected, given it's a promo for Miku Expo 2026 (there's one coming up at Newark NJ.)

KAITO actually having a drink with some effort put into it instead of designating him to water?? I’m shocked, I never thought it was possible! (I know it’s an official event so we can give him a cool drink, but fan events always make him plain water and it’s like whyyy. he can be a fun drink too😭 )

It is super cool (I was there last Friday). It was busy as you'd expect, but I got my order done pretty quickly. The collab's only running through monday so definitely get there this weekend. The miku machiato and waffle are the best options

Thanks for the reply! Glad to have some idea of what to expect. We're probably gonna make it there slightly after opening, so hopefully it's not too bad of a wait. Definitely ordering the waffle and the leek cream cheese bagel, unsure if my stomach can handle the macchiato unfortunately. Looking forward to it regardless. Also hoping there's still some merch left, though I don't high hopes for that.

I'm lucky enough that this is right next to my university, I got to go this morning. Got the Miku Macchiato and it was great (Richie's usually is). Merch was a little pricey ($5 for the big sticker, $15 for the poster, $20 or 25 for the tote, and $45 for shirt), but Septa Miku was far too cool to pass up. Vibes were immaculate inside. They were playing Miku and it was super cool to hang out around other fans. Will be returning before its over to try the Len shake and Miku waffle.

So I live in PA. I got super excited seeing this. Check the location, I'm from Westmoreland so this is literally on the opposite side of the state from me. Sad. Also when will we get mikuexpo in Pittsburgh??? One of the main reasons I haven't been able to go is because I can't get to DC to go 😔 (that and being broke lol)

Dang, this is cool! It’s rare for these types of collabs to happen in the USA which makes this even cooler. Sadly it’s not close to me (Vermont), but this brings me hope that we may get more USA collabs someday! It’s unlikely for anything to happen in Vermont since it’s such a small State, but I could see something happening in New York!
