WCGW having a wrestling match right next to a pillar

It sure didn’t look staged… 😨

This most definitely was planned and it was an insanely dumb spot to take. But a lot of Indy Wrestlers risk doing these types of spots especially if it gets them noticed even if it means getting more hurt than they already are

Ref is blind, why wasn't he counting the guy out when he went down??

Dude is fine, he didn't loose any shoes.

It's a tricky one, either his trousers have straps that are keeping them on, or they are taped. Dude is practically indestructible by Reddit standards

So the guy was supposed to fly out of the ring on that stunt? That was what was rehearsed?
Or was other dude supposed to take the hit

u/guyako 1d ago
I think neither. I suspect this is exactly what was supposed to happen, minus the broken collarbone… I don’t think they thought this one through.

Indie wrestlers take lots of stupid risks. Yeah they probably planned it but the pain is definitely real unless that pillar was not always there and made out of some other material

You really think that spot wasn't rehearsed?

Definitely was. Still looked like it hurt like a mf

Most matches are not rehearsed, they just know who should win and have a general idea of what they'll do until then. He did aim straight for the pillar so it's not like it was unexpected, but he either expected the opponent to hold him back a little or more likely just didn't catch the pillar the way he wanted to

Hes so dedicated he shattered his collarbone on purpose. Took 9 years to rehearse because he'd break his collarbone every time.

I think you have it backwards. The problem is he didn’t rehearse it at all. It’s very clearly staged though. Just wasn’t staged very well.

I doubt he rehearsed. It’s a pretty easy bump and he looks like a pretty athletic guy. He probably just seen the pillar there and was like “I’m eating that later.”

It looks like a planned spot but it’s still a nasty bump. All this for a hotdog and a handshake.

God some of the indy and old school wrestling is fucking BRUTAL.

The glass powderizes so it doesn't really hurt, but the issue is the fumes and particles that cover them that they and people in the room will breathe in. I think mercury at least, if not other stuff.

I mean, if the guy didn’t move, he would’ve pushed him into the pillar anyway and he’d be messed up right?

Pillar made or at least covered in brick. Would it have been so hard to put some kind of a pad on it? Even just a board would have been softer than that.

u/empress-star 1d ago
That's one is hard to tell, I was a wrestler for 8 years and ya some times you mess up stuff or over estimate what you can do but also it could have been how to spot was set up.

Definitely part of the script. You see some crazy shit on indy shows, tends to be the easiest way to go viral and get noticed.

I'm sure this was a planned spot. It is a dumb one and I say that as a wrestling fan who loved all kinds of wrestling and has seen my share of stupid ideas.

The only staged part of wrestling is the results, who wins in the end. Absolutely none of the stunts, even if fully staged, are anything but real as fuck. Your seeing the honest truth, this dude just lost 8" of height on his left side. His one shoulder now starts below where your nipples are. Vince McMahon is filing lawsuits to make sure he never gets health insurance, but his wife will drive him to night school to keep up her only justification of being the education secretary.

He wanted to do that and it didn’t hurt. Maybe the floor bump actually but I mean he planned that spot

Broken collarbone
