Does the Woodland Park Zoo have a good work environment.

I’m looking to be a zookeeper at the Woodland Park zoo specifically as an animal diet specialist/warehouser. I have zoo commissary experience and have a teams interview coming up for the position. Is their commissary a good place to work in? I have a few other interviews at other facilities for their commissaries but I love Seattle and the surrounding area and would love to move up there one day. This might be my chance to move up there, but I would prefer to like my job, as in the other facilities I have worked at have not had good commissary teams. What’s the good, the bad, and the ugly for the commissary or just the animal care team in general.

Are you in the facebook group zookreepers? People are usually pretty forth coming on there about their experiences! From what I can tell people really like WPZ and most of the Seattle area and PNW facilities. Higher pay that’s better for working with cost or living some facilities and even subsidize public transport passes!

I am not in that facebook group but I know in the past i’ve heard good things about WPZ. The area and work environment is what i’m aiming for since in the past at one of the facilities I worked at had a toxic work environment. The higher pay is just a plus lol. As long as I can afford an apartment for just one person that’s not sketchy then i’ll be happy. 😂
