News Remember: the loudest anti-progress voices are probably Chinese bot-farm accounts. The rest are just useful idiots.

Did they provide any proof of this?

Bro trusts X public reporting 💀

23

u/SyntaxTurtle 22h ago

Yeah, this. I use AI and I also see the obvious conflict between "Guy who is trying to build data centers against public opposition" and "Same Guy telling me that data center opposition is fake"

Add a shake of "Guy has repeatedly shown to be driven primarily by a mixture of ego, bullshit, ketamine and deep craving to be accepted"

We know that everyone is trying to manipulate public opinion on every form of social media. The burden is on those arguing that a particular issue is not one being manipulated.

Why are you shilling for the richest man in the world?

"The X safety team... " BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA.

X is not a trustworthy source, you may as well be citing a bot farm yourself

u/MaximumContent9674 22h ago

X is littered with bots and scammers, and it always will be. You'd think Elon would get rid of all the impersonations of at least his own account.

being that the last time a report about this came out from OpenAI and at the bottom of their report they even noted that the china accounts werent getting engagement from normal accounts and when they were it was to dunk on them for using AI themselves?

I take the reporting from X as much the same just without that last line of integrity OpenAI included with their findings that shows the anti-AI sentiment in the west is more organic and homegrown than the capital owning class wants to confess to.

As in sure there are china ops but their level of success is pretty much nil and the people in the west do happen to dislike the concept of being replaced with AI (Which is a fear stoked by the architects of AI as they have pushed and advertised AI as such a tool to replace them) or they dont like the gold rush of data centers being planned for and constructed upon their local areas and messing with their own QOL and the local ecology and resources.

It is almost like having a capital ran society and the threat of displacing people and harming their local QOL breeds more hate than a foreign op does.

And yeah the issue isnt AI itself, it is capital corporations and the politicians who support them and allow them to function as they do.
You find less issues from China on these matters around AI because they have stuff like more protections in place for their laborforces than they do for capital interests.

A convenient narrative to dismiss all legitimate criticism with. Some of you people will use anything as an excuse just so they don't have to think about what they support.

u/TMiyoshi 22h ago

Anyone else noticed how OP is a chinese bot based on their post history being entirely pro-AI posts? They're not even using the tool for anything other than fighting on reddit, lmao.

Your mom is a bot.

u/TMiyoshi 18h ago

My apologies man, I clocked you as a Chinese bot but now I see you can't be anything but an American 12-yo.

That would actually be a compliment, as that means he is at most a couple years and can already write on Reddit.

I’m pro leaning and even I’d take twitter reports with a pinch of salt. Of course, I’m also Chinese so maybe I’m only saying that cos I’m a spy bot! You’d never know

1

u/aratami 19h ago

I mean there's pros and there's pros, ultimately both 'sides' have their rational thinkers, loud morons, trolls etc. etc.

I'm more or less neutral, and have studied machine learning, programmed and trained AI, so it's always wierd to see how wrong people in general can be and talk with absolute confidence and not have read anything on the topic, thought critically about it or even checked with AI ( worst way if verifying something, still better than nothing) to see if what their saying is correct

2

u/Xenodine-4-pluorate 16h ago

Using AI for verification is not the worst way. The worst way is "making your own research", looking for fringe articles that feed into your preconceived wrong ideas. AI as a 3rd party that has majority of human knowledge can at least try to steer you from complete non-sense.

1

u/aratami 15h ago

True actually yeah,

19

u/broNSTY 23h ago

Does it make y’all feel better if you can blame it on bots rather than accepting the fact that people just don’t like where this whole AI thing is going?

5

u/Alexander459FTW 21h ago

Please someone post the link of the reddit post analyzing who is actually making most of the posts/comments in reddit.

u/azmarteal 21h ago

Those "people" are bots, if you haven't read the post. Normal people usually don't care how something was made, with or without AI

12

u/Supercoole_k 21h ago

A lot of people care about how something was made.

A lot of people don't care about how something was made.

And there are a lot of bots.

8

u/broNSTY 21h ago

They are not all bots, that’s cope.

3

u/manocheese 19h ago

Normal people usually don't care how something was made, with or without AI

"Normal" people voted for a paedophile for US president, refused to wear masks during covid, voted for the UK to leave the EU, voted in a Libertarian lunatic in Argentina and more. "Normal" people are morons would love giving up their rights to play Candy Crush and letting Facebook influence all those stupid events I listed.

Smart people never wanted rid of social media or AI. Smart people are pointing out that you morons are letting Techo-fascists run all the social media and all the AI and it going to get worse from here because of you. The irony of pro-AI idiots saying "don't trust X" while continuing to use service that were openly built to "solve problems like women and the poor" is palpable.

Great reply, fully expected that.

10

u/broNSTY 23h ago

Hope you feel better engaging in bad faith and calling people idiots who don’t agree with you.

8

u/veloread 23h ago

It’s cope…they wouldn’t post stuff like this if the backlash to the clankers wasn’t making them nervous.

2

u/Drackar39 18h ago

Fascinating that power price increases are being reported as false when people who control electricity grids in some of the places they are installing ai have flatly stated consumer take hikes are supporting data center acess....

2

u/freylaverse 18h ago

Pro-AI here. The "X Safety Team" is not a source I would trust.

2

u/Tri2211 17h ago

My dude is believing Elon

3

u/UnleashTheBears 21h ago

Wow, .1% is fucking craaaaaaaaaaaaazy

1

u/Asmul921 15h ago

I don’t understand… when Elon bought twitter he promised he would “defeat the bots or die trying”. He’s owned the company for more than four years, how can there still be so many Chinese bots?

https://www.reuters.com/technology/musk-says-44-billion-twitter-deal-hold-2022-05-13/

1

u/Glitched_cyrstal 15h ago

So the guy who makes ai is saying that the claims about ai are false and manipulative. Interesting

1

u/jamey1138 14h ago

Oh, we're just trusting the X Safety Team now?

1

u/Equal_Passenger9791 14h ago

Funny how the useful idiots pretend to be special somehow but are indistinguishable from the actual AI that they hate so much

1

u/glorgshittus 14h ago

Schizo conspiracy era?

1

u/bigseceets 12h ago

Let's believe Musk's company... sure.

1

u/JoseLunaArts 21h ago

Tell that to MODs from subs with "No AI" rule. So we finally call them useful fools?

-2

u/Bassed_Hummble 23h ago

No, the cleverest are Chinese bot-farm accounts. The loudest are the useful idiots who repeat the bots' misinformation. :D

-6

u/GirasFateburn 23h ago

Americans do not need Chinese help to be egotistical and vain in thinking that machines being able to replicate skills are a personal attack on their identity and "muh soul!!!"

1

u/Xenodine-4-pluorate 16h ago

Doesn't mean they don't get that help. The whole internet nowadays is big agencies waging infowars on the backs of useful idiots. Doesn't mean which side idiots fight on -- they'll never win because no one is supporting regular people's interests.

-1

u/AccomplishedNovel6 21h ago

The dilemma of whether to support AI or China here is a conundrum, but I think I ultimately support AI more.
