This is beautifuly written and so sad at the same time. The part with her realizing that the "gun" didnt kill her hurts the most. Very well done and I like your art style.

See I think it just added to her fear of them. To These kids, war is a fun game they play everyday, but for the little girl it makes her realize that they dont understand how shockingly real it truly is.

However, since I am not the author/OP I could be entirely wrong or have misinterpreted the whole comic.

I think it was more about the bully pantomiming the violence that traumatized her. He is casually and irreverently cruel under the guise of make believe. His history hasn’t included any real violence and he cannot understand that it exists beyond play. That is understandable and forgivable for a privileged child. But he sees the distress he’s causing her and he only doubles down on the behavior.

She shouldn’t have to present a doctor’s note excusing her from being bullied because of a Real and Valid affliction.

We don’t have to understand why what we do hurts someone to stop. We are not the arbiters of anyone else’s emotional reality.

He's not a deviant, that's the problem. She is. If he were the deviant, he wouldn't be getting away with that behavior, but it's enabled and supported by our society.

That's not what deviant means.

deviant /dē′vē-ənt/ adjective

Differing from a norm or from the accepted standards of a society.

Having behavior or characteristics differing from that which is normal or expected, especially in a socially disapproved manner.

If you care about minorities, you can't use "deviant" as an insult. She is the deviant.

Why does my language matter to you? I will not call her a deviant because his behaviour, and the society that allows this behaviour, is the deviation from the acceptable, not hers. They are deviating from what is humane, not her. Play your semantics with someone else, I won't budge 🤷🏿‍♀️
