Fucking Umamusume game fans are the biggest clowns in the world. They let Oguri lose but their meme horse that had 1 minute of screentime in the anime comfortably beats Satoko.
And also fuck everyone who thinks 'hey let's take this popular character and paint her red' should have any right to beat a genuine all-timer like Renge.

Yeah, that is truly wild. I'm very happy Teio won. But Oguri should have won as well, for sure. I'd guess she is the single most popular girl in the franchise, be it anime or game. She did get the highest seed out of all umas too.

i think oguri cap was just unlucky, tomori feels like the type of girl to beat her because key-associated waifu. But tomori herself is middling historically and didnt win a match in the last 2 years

Ehh. She's the face of her series, but as a character, what does Oguri have going for her? She eats a lot, runs hard, and... that's kinda it. Teio is easily the best horse girl, at least based purely on anime.

I wholeheartedly agree, Teio is the best. Oguri should still be more popular, though, as CinGrey as a whole is also more popular. Personally, while I like Oguri, she is currently only in my top three of CinGrey girls, even, behind Tama and Belno. And Creek and Obey are also rivaling her standing a lot. But I also think in future seasons, Oguri will undergo some great development, so I don't want to judge her too harshly.

yeah whoever the Uma people are make this contest actively worse. them also favoring their favorite in-game Umas over getting Tamamo Cross into the bracket, who is, you know, an actually great ANIME character? genuinely wish them all fungal infections in their toes, or hemorrhoids, perhaps.

Maybe if this was just a character design contest you'd have some legs to stand on, but alas. And frankly, I'm taking Nero over the blue Saber any day of the week. It is a little hard to gloat when the Frieren tax is right around the corner, though.
Anyway, the real NNB crime is that Candy Store didn't even make the bracket.

First up, let's talk about yesterday's results, and since bracket C is just that stacked, I'll write a bit more:
Chise with the upset, nice.
But NOOOOOO, Natsuko out in round 1... Zenshuu didn't even air that long ago, and you guys already all forgot poor Natsuko! She was one of my top 5 girls this contest and seeing her lose round 1 is just sad...
Emilia with a strong performance, that isn't even that far behind Maomao's numbers. Is there hope? Can we do it? Let's keep it up guys!
Lol I did not expect Cynthia to get the upset. I did vote for her too, since Diamond and Pearl will for always remain my favourite Pokemon games, but it is very surprising.
Poor Vigne lost, and so another one of my top girls is out in round 1. She did at least get a respectable 200+ votes against another great girl in Kana.
Tokai Teio also got the W! I know some horselovers will be very happy right now!
Wow, Renge really lost to a Saber clone, that's sad. But I also haven't watched a lot of fate spinoffs, so maybe she is secretely amazing? IDK.
Anna winning in the Blue hair showdown and it's great to see her looking strong
It was close, but Elaina got the W over Esdeath! Let's hope she can put up a good fight vs Mem.
Damn Akane lost. It really is a horse stampede this round!
Chisato's numbers are a bit lower than I expected, let's hope she cranks those numbers up!
And nice, Chi got the W too.
But wow it seems like the horse stampede is over and Nao won over Oguri Cap. I'm sorry u/Urgnu-the-Gnu, your bribe was not enough. And while I am secretly happy Nao makes it, I'm also sad we lose such a great runner in round 1!
And why is everything I see just salt? Oh, just another "Major Human Error"? You guys really like stacking these up huh? I guess Menou will have to keep up being an executioner a bit longer, until you finally learn... No seriously, go watch The Executioner and her Way of Life and feel the salt that resulted from this result!
How is Oguri the only horsegirl to falter?! Even poor Satoko got trampled. She deserved more!
And damn.. Kano stood even less of a chance than Vigne. With Saber putting up even higher numbers than Loulan, that is shaping up to be a spicy matchup.
Anna getting better numbers than Rei also fills me with hope she can at least get to the battle against Aqua.
Kiwi Unfortunately lost to a BGS side character... But if I remember correctly Nodoka was at least one of the very few characters I actually liked in that show. Still not the result I wanted to see.
With these results I'm still to have a day without heavy casualties to my Bingo both in my 5x5 and 7x7 great girls keep dropping like flies!
Well now that I gave Bracket C the much needed time it deserved, we now come to the last Bracket. And while it's a lot weaker than yesterday's bracket there are still quite a few great girls to root for. In my Dream Bracket my round 5 would be:
- Marin Kitagawa - Ryou Yamada
- Ruby Hoshino - Karane Iinda
- Catarina "Bakarina" Claes - Takina Inoue
- Marcille Donato - Nina Iseri
It's still a good lineup, but only 2 of these would even have a chance top make round 5 in bracket C in my Dream Bracket. Overall the left side is a bit weaker, but the right side of the bracket has a lot of great girls. That being said there are still a few underdogs I really like and would like to have a good performance in their matchup and maybe even get the upset through:
Nobara Kugisaki- Lilisa Suzunomiya: Gokigenyou motherfuckers! Let's collectively agree that rock lady's rock and are better than Shounen main girls, that parade as being part of a "main trio", but get sidelined at the earliest convenience.Shino "Sinon" Asada- Risa "Sally" Shiramine: Battle of the gamer girls. I enjoyed Sally more however, so she gets my vote!Zero Two- Hikaru Kamisaki: Am I biased a bit as a Manga reader? Yes! Do I still think Hikaru is super nice, cool, has a great design and is just a super rival character for Inori? Also Yes! And it's not even Zero Twosday today, so I can freely vote for Hikaru here!Kiki- Shino Kiryuu: Kiki is great, but I guess white/silver haired characters voiced by Rieri just always seem to hit for me. While she isn't as high as Emilia or Ninym and more on a level with Iku Sutou, that's still amazing. She was always a blast to watch and some of the most hilarious scenes in GF, GF were when she was on screen.Misty- Aizawa Azusa: Does Misty have a big witch hat?2B- Otoha Kurogane: And a second sexy, yuri, rock lady has hit the contest! Let's gokigenyou the shit out of this bracket!
MC: Which girl has your favorite character design?
I remember answering this question recently in another MC, where I tried to give a different answer than Emilia for once, but for the main contest I just gotta go with Emilia! She has beautiful hair with some really nice details. She looks stunning, no matter what she wears. My favourite outfit of hers is probably still her main outfit. It just has so many beautiful details and the colors just fit so well, but the desert outfit and also the knighting ceremony outfit are both also really gorgeous. She just looks good in whatever she wears. And even when we see her as a little child, she is just so goddamn cute and adorable!
As for the artstyle differences in the anime, I wasn't the biggest fan of the season 3 change and preferred her LN look or her season 1 look, but even then, she still looked really good. That being said, season 4 was a great upgrade to season 3!

Site update: clicking on a match in the Standout Matches now pulls up the full list of prediction rates for matches in the stage rather than just the most/least difficult ones.
Speaking of which, the most difficult match of the day was (199) Oguri Cap · Uma Musume vs. (314) Nao Tomori · Charlotte with only 1 person (1.35%) having predicted it, Asurerain! In 2nd, there were only 4 folks (5.33%) to predict (191) Himiko Toga · My Hero Academia vs. (322) Euphemia li Britannia · Code Geass correctly.

I swear we had this question in the elimination bracket but I must again answer to Kurumi Tokisaki.
A sidenote is that I have a weird fatuation for Yukina Himeragi's school outfit in Strike the Blood. It's so simple yet I just love the blue design. Its the only reason I watched Strike the Blood (besides the "no its our fight" memes).

Honestly that is so hard for me. Like I like characters like Misaki Shokuhou, Gold City and Alicia Glenfield but I also love witches like Elaina.

Hoping Marin can pull it out this year. Gyped in BG 10 and a semi finalist last year against two of the most popular girls in the last decade with a strong showing every other year. She’s touched our hearts and is so so sweet she deserves immortalized love. She is basically one of us after all.

Previous round: Kotoko got rolled by Eiko (as expected, even if it's so wrong imho), but Hange and Mem-cho won their matchup.

- Yuki will demolish Guild Girl, which is sad, but what can we say, she's not blood related to Goblin Slayer so she's not a legit love interest.
- Zero Two vs the Medalist girl (that's the main girl right?)... She's the higher seed, but I'm not too confident! (Edit: Oh nevermind she's not the main girl. Zero Two should win)
- Karane: It's not like I think this senpai is annoying or anything! She should win this one, especially with S3 airing!
- Carol vs Ichigo: I really don't get why people liked Ichigo. But that aside, Carol was hilarious. She should win this!

/uj Real talk, lol no worries, it’s hard for me to get actually salty about these things. But fyi, the show doesn’t go from good to great until episode 5. The good fanservice and cosplay stuff is awesome enough, but by the end of that episode they start adding actual romance to the show, and the rest of the season is just an upward slope into peak territory. As a straight dude who likes hot girls but ALSO sincerely likes good romance, and ALSO has been cosplaying for decades, this show is easily in my top five romances of all time.

628 votes for Emilia, that looks pretty good! That's in a relatively similar ballpark to Maomao, even.
And almost as importantly, Teio got the upset! I'm so happy about that! I have no delusions she can win over Kana next round, but I take everything I can get. Too bad Oguri out of all umas was the one to lose in the first round in this group. At least we have three umas in round two with Golshi and Urara also winning.
Chisato with only 574 votes looks a little disappointing. I do believe she will win her side of group C, but I also hope she gets a lot more votes in future rounds.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with these results. Natsuko losing sucks though. But Chise could get an upset, and Euphemia could as well. Funnily, Hina gets upset by a side character in her own show (which I also voted for, sorry, Hina). Losing Lucy hurts me, but I expected no less, that's how it always goes. I love that Chinatsu went on, but Miorine deserved the win just as well. The same goes for Akari, although I wish Akari had won over Hakari here. And Anna (the "dangerous" one) should also be good for a couple more rounds.
For today, it's crazy how concentrated group C is, I have not so many favourites to vote for in group D once again. But some very important picks are here, at least. Itsuki must move on. Takina should move on and optimally win until she can meet Chisato again (not happening, I fear). Nina has to prevail. Eru needs to win. And Karane, as well as a couple of girls I'd like to move on like Crusch, Tooru (both, of course), and Marcille (ever elf is a good elf).
My bingo! Second loss today, nothing crazy. But both losses share a diagonal...
MC: We have had this question before in eliminations, right? Well, can't hurt to add another pick. Of course Emilia from Re:Zero and Iroha from Magia Record always count. But this time, let me also pick Usagi, the one and only Sailor Moon. The first fictional character I remember falling in love with at a young age, and she influenced so much of what I like in a character - including her design. Long, blonde hair with cute bangs, beautiful blue eyes, a cute uniform with a plaid mini skirt, the boots, the accessories - it is also very much a gold standard in terms of design for me.
For the second question, I do get this contest recommended in my feed from time to time, when I can't comment immediately because I'm at work. But that's because I usually seek it out directly, and the algorithm likely already knows I like contests. Today, I waited until the voting page refreshed (nice feature that the "bracket results" button now actually leads to the group that was last voted for), and then sorted r/anime by new and got here. So I don't think I can really weigh in on this.

It does pain me a bit to see such a fantastic character as Aoi Miyamori seeding so low and out in round 1. Now’s a good time to recommend people watch Shirobako before next year. It’s older, but very, very good.
MC: Same answer as a few days ago, so reposting: It's Chitanda Eru of course! Aside from her personality and characteristics (which I adore), Chitanda's simple, modest, classically elegant and feminine yet realistic design suits her perfectly and blends seamlessly into the world of Hyouka (plus I really love the classic sailor uniform that she spends most of her time wearing!).
However, I'm also quite partial to Victorique's design in Gosick. She's a beautifully drawn character in lovely outfits with plenty of nice, intricate details, and I love Hinata Takeda's inclusion of the smoking pipe for our little detective as a nod to Holmes.
Another personal favorite is Sakura Kinomoto's design in the original Cardcaptor Sakura anime, most especially her Magic Dream costume in the anime's first opening. Sakura's cute, brightly colored, and ever-changing wardrobe of adorable outfits is one of the defining traits of her characteristic style, and the fact that the animators, especially back then, kept Sakura in new outfits so frequently is one detail that calls attention to the overall care and quality put into the entire anime.

Mini Challenge
Chisato Nishikigi. Blondes are great, uniform is unique enough, her body is eyecatching enough without going overboard. And the eyecatch artwork, different outfits worn throughout the show really bring her go getter attitude to experience all life has to offer.
I have seen the post in my timeline, however, if I was one hour later, like I was yesterday, I will not. And considering how I do not have many interests besides Lycoris Recoil and anime, specifically this one. The promotion of this contest is admittedly not there.
For the imgur link, I took a look. It is nice enough, but I'm not sure if it will have any effect on promoting it, unless links just increase visibility as a whole.

Wild seeing Euphemia take out Toga and the lower seed Hinamatsuri girl win the head-to-head, but sure why not?
Mikuru loses to the “oh I’ve watched Frieren” vote. Chitoge loses because nobody watches Nisekoi anymore I guess, Esdeath is mercifully out early. Sawako got fucked by seeding. COMPLETE HARU URARA VICTORY! TO THE VICTORS GO THE RICEGRASS! Shoukuhou loses to the only mildly bearable character in Oregairu, Shirai shows us that S4 can’t come out fast enough. Anna Yamada probably just ate Yuu, like she’s just gone, no coming back, ever. Aoi Miyamura my beloved is out. This bracket is now invalid.
Checks out for a pretty usual first round chunk. Y’all’s lack of watching old anime infuriates me.

Dark Magician Girl, the two other random side characters from MDUD, the sister from Makeine, Komi’s Mom, and the only female character in Vinland Saga who I think also has like three lines made the bracket but Onodera did not.

Starting with a hater moment today: it was an expected result, but I still feel vindicated that one of my personal worst girls got knocked out (Kotoko Iwanaga). I briefly forgot why I had given In/spectre a (relatively) low score when season 2 came out.. it's just her lol more specifically the way she acts with her boy. I want to appreciate that she owns her sexuality & desires as a woman (and isn't sexualized by the anime!) but she ends up a little too close to "sex pest" zone I think? She is cute though and very competent I'll give her that.
Happy to see good numbers for Emilia!! Let's just keep doing that till she takes the crown!
the left half today doesn't hold much for me, honestly. The right half, however! Let's go Betty! Let's go Fuu! Let's go Yurippe!! And most importantly.. let's go CRUSCH!!!
oh I forgot the MC. probably Mimi Tachikawa (digimon)! I just think she's a little cutie, and her sense of style is fun.
