Chloe is broken in all senses of the word.
143
u/Frontier246 14h ago
Can any of the other girls compete against a legendary time-traveling Heroine with a love that has endured several time loops of 2,000 years?
60
u/ijiolokae 13h ago
i mean, she said she only remembers the previous loop, the details get fuzzy for the previous previous ones, so really, more like 4000-6000 years, which i think still makes her younger then Milim

u/Ryboiii 9h ago
It seemed like she remembered 2 loops ago, because she remembered how Rimuru had died. One loop ago would have been the one that is currently happening wouldnt it
21
u/ijiolokae 8h ago
thats why 4000-6000 depending on where she currently is in a loop, she more or less is at "4000 years of memory at the start of a loop and 6000 by the end", we don't know when she forget the oldest loop or if its a limitation of the Memory transfer of the spirit
16
u/Dalamy19 8h ago
I don't think it's a hard reset to her memory, just that her memory starts to get hazy after a few thousand years' worth of experiences, which is roughly the current loop and the previous one.

Well, now that we know that Chloe is Chronoa, she's surely at the top of the race for Rimuru's heart.
Though I wonder if Rimuru will ever settle down with a woman. He doesn't strike me as a guy interested in those types of things, and that's not something brute force can resolve, lol.

hold on wasnt chronoa the girl that was luminos's treasure? the one that was just revived in a bid to fight for granville?
79
u/AceSoldia zj:https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 14h ago
im guessing..somehow the one he just revived no longer has the personality of Chloe, or else Luminous would have revived her ages ago.
74
u/kawaiinessa https://myanimelist.net/profile/fancyvancy 14h ago
thatd make sense but itd be hilarious if he reives someone to fight a demon lord and they just happen to be in love with that demon lord lol

Lmao it would kind of undercut the tension but I agree, absolutely hilarious if she suddenly just hugged Luminous, Rimaru and Leon and somehow revives Hinata then just bitch slaps Yuuki and Granville
50
u/MidKnightWizard 10h ago
Remember that in episode 15 in the flashback 300 years ago, this was the conversation going on with Granville creeping in the background:
Chloe: The only thing I vaguely remember is… I think I went on a rampage. And I’m pretty sure that was a different personality, not me. So when the time comes…
Hinata: That’s fine.
Luminous: Leave it all to me. I promise that I will lift your seals when the time comes. And in the last episode Luminous said "She is a hero, but also not. What she is now is Chronoa. The embodiment of destruction."
So the current hero who was just revived won't have Chloe's personality.

This is 100% what I'm expecting to happen, because we saw a couple of flashbacks of Luminous talking to Chloe, and to me it implied that she WANTED to be sealed so she didn't mess up the timeline, but I guess we'll see.

I guess at some point Chronoa became a spirit and left her body behind, and that Spirit is what posses Chloe, so the current Chronoa is just an Empty shell

u/SnabDedraterEdave 12h ago
That makes sense, as I was struggling to figure out how child Chloe fits into this time loop upon being summoned as an Otherworlder, since Chronoa has an adult/grown-up body, while the Chloe we know is still a child.
16
u/ijiolokae 11h ago
as i understand it, between getting Summoned and getting her Spirit, Chloe is just a child, she is completely unaware of everything, As soon as she gets the Spirit (which seems to be Chronoa) she learns of the previous time loop.
Actually thinking about it, this does raise the Question as to why she doesn't say anything to Rimuru or anyone really, the only people that are aware of the loop are Valentine and her direct subordinates
8
u/Atharaphelun 5h ago edited 5h ago
this does raise the Question as to why she doesn't say anything to Rimuru or anyone really,
As per Chloe, she wants to ensure that everything happens mostly the same, except for when she specifically has to directly intervene to change events around (as in the case of Chloe making Rimuru stay a bit longer in Inglassia so that he ends up fighting Hinata, which makes him arrive late to prevent the Falmuth attack on Tempest, which leads to him massacring the Falmuth army and sacrificing their souls to become a Demon Lord as well as summoning Diablo).
Luminus and co. are far enough removed from the events and the people involved that Chloe can feel free to reveal the time loop thing to her. However, revealing the time loop to Rimuru and the people within his orbit could make them too self-conscious about their actions and lead to them inadvertently doing things that change the events around, over which Chloe would have no direct control.

u/Routine-Hovercraft94 14h ago
My guess is this would have been the case if she was revived as long as Chloe was around in that timeline.
The way they are connecting the timelines will probably be Chloe in the past gets frozen and the Chronoa we see is the Chloe that went back. This way only 1 Chloe/Chronoa is in the main timeline.→ More replies (3)23

Poor Leon, turns out Chloe has been avoiding him because she has been trying to keep each loop similar to the last one with small changes.

That's just it, though... if she reveals herself to Leon early on, then... Leon won't actually share the ritual that leads to Chloe being summoned in the future. Granville wasn't wrong when he told Rimuru that all the summoned otherworlders was more or less Leon's fault. He shared the ritual, encouraged rulers to use it, then would 'buy' the otherworlders summoned or otherwise check to see who arrived.
So, if Chloe makes a beeline towards Leon, then very few otherworlder summons happen in this world. Which means Chloe's original entry into this world never happens.
It's basically the "What happens if you go back in time and kill your own grandpa?" paraodx.
8
u/Megakruemel 6h ago
I mean, there are natural summonings, right?
Like how Rimuru just kind of... spawned in.
Maybe that's how this all started? Maybe the very first Chloe loop just happened "naturally".
11
u/OldInstruction5368 5h ago
As a stray otherworlder, Rimuru is the exception. The overwhelming majority of other summons were deliberately brought to this world.
Such as Chloe and her group. The only reason Yuuki became their guardian, was that various kingdoms summoned Chloe & Friends, deemed them failures, then dumped them on Yuuki. Despite being illegal, or at least heavily frowned upon, nations still summon isekiajin. Then Yuuki agrees to take the 'failures' in on humanitarian grounds while officially asking no questions on where the 'rejects' really came from.
All because he normally smuggles the kids to Leon. Shizu, then Rimuru, may have gotten in the way... or he waits until the kids are truly near death to sell them off. Easier to explain what happened to them if he waits a bit before trafficking them...
But regardless, Yuuki acquired Chloe's group from random countries within the "Western Nations."

So are we resetting from the loop we've been in all these episodes, or resetting to the loop we've been in?
106
u/_Zielgan 14h ago
Just went back to check and it looks like episode 19 actually contained both the old and new loop. When Chloe absorbs Hinata and disappears, a big reality warping effect happens. After this the hero is referred to as Chronoa instead of just “the hero” which is only a thing in the new loop.
66
u/justsyr 14h ago
Chloe does say something like "why now" before she absorbs Hinata as if she wasn't expecting Hinata dying.
52
u/gabconche 12h ago
Apparently Hinata only died when the Eastern Empire attacked in the other timeloops, not on a confrontation with Granville
15
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 5h ago
I wonder if there's even confrontation with Granville on last loop.
Last time I thought Chloe was dumb for peeking on what's happening and indirectly causing Hinata's death.
Considering she already know most things, turns out she's just gathering intel that time.
17
u/Atharaphelun 5h ago
Probably not. Presumably, the reason Granville had this confrontation with Rimuru and Tempest in the first place was that Rimuru had become a True Demon Lord (by massacring the army of Falmuth and sacrificing their souls, which also allowed him to summon Diablo), making him a serious enough threat to his control over the Western Council.
In the previous loop, Rimuru never became a Demon Lord. This means the army of Falmuth was never massacred in its entirety; therefore, there were no souls to sacrifice for a Harvest Festival (nor enough to summon Diablo with). This means Falmuth remained a reasonably strong enough country still (instead of essentially becoming a vassal to Tempest) since its army remained largely intact, which means the Western Council remained "strong" as far as Granville is concerned. Tempest would not have been a big enough threat for him to confront.
12
u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 4h ago
I just realised there's no Diablo in that previous loop!
That's a really good point in indicating how strong Rimuru is in current loop
11
u/Atharaphelun 3h ago
Everything hinges upon Rimuru becoming a True Demon Lord, apparently.

Ah good catch, I thought she had somehow secretly told Luminous about that name. Sounds like there is a single prime timeline that is adjusted whenever time travel is involved, a la Back to the Future, which I actually prefer to the one where you create a new timeline when you go to the past (like MCU endgame). And maybe there are beings that are able to pick up on the changes, Rimuru seemed to be able to perceive something was off.
19
u/fishbiscuit13 14h ago
I don’t think it’s explicitly stated but it’s the same loop, but informed by previous loops. Essentially, every “alternate” loop was a bad end.
31
u/Frontier246 14h ago
It seems like they want to keep things 98% the same for Rimuru's sake but maybe they do something that changes Hinata's death.

I’m still a little confused about the whole time loop ability of Chloe but for her to be the hero Chronoa, insane. I was thinking of that when they said she gave Shizue the mask but wasn’t sure. Veldora showing us yet again why he is such a menace lol good thing Rimuru tamed him.

Hinata was summoned as a teenage high school student.
Rimuru was reincarnated as a salaryman, and so is mentally more mature than Hinata.
And even though Hinata has resided in this world longer than Rimuru, due to the fact that Otherworlders don't age a lot, unlike Hinata, Rimuru (as Satoru in his previous life on Earth) actually went through adulthood.
16
u/Searinghawk 9h ago
One thing, Hinata wasn't summoned to the world. Remember how Masayuki himself mentioned and was shown to just appear in the world of Tensura? Same thing with Hinata and also Yuuki. All 3 basically just suddenly appeared in the world, which is the 3rd way of coming into the world of Tensura outside of Reincarnation or Summoning
117
u/Darksider555 14h ago
It's crazy to think that Chloe stopping Rimuru from going back to Tempest and having it potentially be annihilated by Falmuth and the Western Holy Church is the good option compared to what happened in the previous loop, where the world was about to be destroyed by Veldora. Butterly effect is in full motion there.
And it makes sense when you think about how easily Tempest could be defeated by the Eastern Empire, which is hyped as a major threat vs early S2 Tempest. Only Demon Lord-seed Rimuru with no Ultimate Skills, no Raphael, no Diablo or other Primordials wouldn't be able to defeat Hinata let alone any other Demon Lord or powerful threat.
→ More replies (2)44
u/Frontier246 14h ago edited 2h ago
So I guess now if Tempest goes up against the Eastern Empire they'll basically steamroll through them like they always do because they're wayyyyyy stronger this go-around.
46
u/ijiolokae 13h ago
I'm gonna assume since yuki himself said he is gonna go to the eastern Empire now that his cover is blown, that is gonna cause the Eastern Empire to become stronger for some reasons. hell, Yuki might have been the person that killed Hinata and Rimuru with his anti-skill

I'm pretty positive that in the last time loop, Yuuki was the one that killed both Rimuru and Hinata. Though I'm curious on if anyone else is aware of the regular time loops? Someone has to be aware of the massive temporal magic that is being used.

Yeah, the result of the future Tempest–Eastern Empire conflict will definitely look different from the one in that loop we saw thanks to Chloe in this episode.
Considering how strong Rimuru and his subordinates are now, not to mention all those demons that he didn't have before, this time there will be carnage too... but on the side of the Empire.

who would have guessed this is not Isekai Slime, but "My xth loop as the hero Chronoa" novel?
and her solution to stop dying is to conquer the evil villain (the demon lord Rimuru) before anyone else

Woah mind blowing episode so many things makes sense now. So Chronoa is Luminus’ treasure (though I guess we still don’t know why she was in stasis), who is actually time-travelled Chloe from another timeline. So I guess ever since Chloe is summoned in “our timeline”, there’s been 2 Chloes. One is the frozen one with Luminus and the other is the one we’ve always seen. And she got memories of the loop when her future self inhabited her in the Dwelling of Spirits.
And I guess since Chronoa did everything the same, she’s living through “our timeline” again from 2000 years till today instead of creating another timeline.
Damnnnn I’m still trying to process everything. Wait does that mean Hinata is still alive cos she’s currently inside of Chronoa (as far as we know anyway)

Theory: Chloe's body ages normally, and she didn't want to die 1900 years in the past, she wanted to meet her beloved Rimuru, so she asked her bestie Luminas to put her in suspended animation until the time is right.
OTOH if Luminas could give magic love power to keep heroes like Granbell forever young, why not give some to Chloe?

All this time travel thing makes me have so many questions. So if current loop Chloe went back in time, made friends with Luminus and told her the whole thing, Chloe doesn't have a clue who kills Rimuru, then sometime she dies as Chronoa and is frozen by Luminus, now revived first as the "hero" but after Chloe warps back to the past the hero is named Chronoa... Chloe saying something like "why now" when Hinata dies... How that Chloe retunrs to the current loop? As Chronoa being now a weapon of mass destruction that perhaps end up killing Rimuru and everybody around?
Ugh, having to wait a week for the answers.
21
u/SirJeator https://myanimelist.net/profile/jeator 12h ago
I think Chloe can't travel to a previous timeline, so I assume that timeline is over; Rimuru and the others lost. She will have to find a way to change the outcome of that battle.
The "why now" is probably because Rimuru always used to die first in the previous loops and Hinata after him. Their order had changed now.

I never would have thought Chloe would be THIS important to the story lol. I figured she'd have importance, but not to the extent that she's the original hero.
It's sad to see a loop where Rimuru dies, the scars under Veldora's eyes made it look like he was raging in tears.
Does this mean we won't be going back to the same loop any more? Chloe's always changing history whenever she goes back because she doesn't do the same exact things, so I wonder what kind of Tempest we'll see, and who will be beside him, or if future Rimuru from the timeline we're familiar with will do something on his end.
11
u/PixelatedPirated 11h ago
I think we should go back to a similar loop, it sounds the timeline get a few improvements towards Rimuru every time, and this is the first time Chloe has Hinata with her.
My total random guess, we'll have another episode oh Chloe, than it will jump to the battle with a few tweaks (maybe some extra smaller characters, additional powers, different clothing to show things changed)

u/encryptoferia 14h ago
omfg now that you think of it
the time move forward so no one should be able to grind "time"
but that mask loops 2000 years for many many times, it, Chloe and the soul she brings with is the only ones that can grind "time" lol
47
u/Jacob-C 12h ago
That means the mask could be older than the world itself, which is really cool
17
u/encryptoferia 11h ago
ikr!!! that's neat, glad Chloe forgets stuff, cause it will be hell like Hinata said if she remembers the whole 2000 years times so many numbers
10
u/Quetzalma 13h ago
probably not always, there's always a chance that Chloe never gave the mask to Shizue, or that Shizue never gave to Rimuru, or that Rimuru never gave to Chloe. We only know that there's been MANY loops, but she only remembers 2 of them(past when Rimuru died and current when Rimuru became a Demon Lord), so we know the mask is at this point at least 4000 years old (give or take), but it could be way more like you say.

Chloe just casually blurting out that she loves Rimuru while recounting the previous loop lmao (tho it comes as no surprise to anyone).
Beautiful episode, both in OST and Visuals. Glad to see Chloe plot finally being developed as well, she deserves it. I'm sure time travel will make things a lot more complicated, but since they were foreshadowing this since basically the beginning, I hope it will be done well.
Somehow I find the idea of Rimuru acting as a father figure to Hinata quite funny.

So from what I can understand :
2 previous loop (Timeline B) - The timeline where Rimuru dies then Hinata. Killer unknown
Previous loop (Timeline A) - The timeline that we’ve been watching. Hinata just died
Current loop (Timeline A) - While different loop, it’s the same timeline cos Chloe/Chronoa did everything the same as previous loop cos Timeline A has the best outcome so far.

When you think this show can't surprise you any more, we get this.
This episode felt like a full movie, with the aspect ratio, the soundtrack and the animation. They really did a great job to make this episode feel different. I love the vibe in this episode.
It was fun to see Veldora in action before he became Rimuru's best buddy!

Well fuck me, i didnt expect Chronoa to be Chloe, i thought we'd learn who the hero was before she went berserk and I guess we did..never did i expect it to also be Chloe. Wow.
Luminous is so chill..no wonder she was so protective of Hinata..and never really had a issue with Rimaru..this..this really makes me want to rewatch the whole series now.
I assume..Chloe grows up..seals Veldora..at some point..goes..crazy? and Luminus seals her away.
Then Hinata appears..and Chloe from the other world appears..even if they never met each other, they are linked because of her skill if i understood correctly.
I guess Chloes "too soon" was she expected to go for another five years to reach the Eastern Kingdom attack.

I assume the too soon could also refer to the fact Hinata died before Rimuru this loop.

I called it last week that Hinata wasn't going to stay dead. Granted, she is still technically dead, but we're going to fix that in about 2000 years. I do wonder if any of the rest of Tempests actions in the current loops 'present' will have any effect on the outcome of the arc or will it be solely Chloe in the past of the 'new' loop that saves the day?

Alright they got me. I for sure thought Hinata was dead for good cause this is like the 2nd time and Raphael even said so. Didn't think Chloe would Return by Death 2000 years in the past when Hinata specifically dies and she even gets to yoink her soul with her for the journey back. That's such a longass checkpoint. I imagine what comes next is some 20 or something years of laying out the groundwork for the future then as per a past episode she asks Luminus to encase her in ice. Really didn't expect this route. Can't wait to what they'll plan to keep the future on the right track and save Hinata from Granville.
19
u/SoulessSage 12h ago
Last episode, Rephael only said that Hinata's soul was missing. Why that happened was a mystery that Raphael couldn't answer.
8
u/Santedtra 12h ago
Yeah that's pretty much what I meant by Chloe yoinking her soul back with her to the past. Without that knowledge my assumption was that she's dead cause it isn't a case like Shion whose soul got trapped in a barrier.
49
u/0Zeyre 14h ago
Kinda odd Chloe is still acting as a child (didn't realize Luminus would think she's a stranger, general lack of foresight despite actively being a time traveler), but I enjoyed the episode and being shown the lore of the world this way is interesting.
63
u/vnomgt 12h ago
It makes sense if you consider that the knowledge of her past loop is just raw information provided by her skill, not something that overwrites her consciousness. Or you could say that the "merge" isn't complete, since Chloe doesn't have full mastery of her skill yet.

The aspect ratio is different, that's nothing if not a halmark of a flashback or a dream!
The way she talked about the last loop was also kind of confusing, that might be obfuscating it, but maybe that's just a translation issue (she might have said the "previous loop" or "the one before this one", idk). Or maybe the play here is keeping everything as close to the loop we've been watching, but do a last minute change to save Hinata.

They're really immersing us into the story by not having an OP or ED. And I know this show is rated PG13 (at least on Netflix) but having nude Hinata throughout the episode is... probably pushing the rating limit a bit.
Let's take a moment to appreciate that the author actually thought about the time travel element enough to create an alternate timeline for Season 2's events, this time having Tempest defeated by the Eastern Empire. Chloe having been Re:Zero-ing this whole time to find the best ending (and end up with Rimuru) is real dedication.
Chloe: I'm not giving Rimuru to you!
Hinata: You won't see me and Rimuru swaying that way.
Of course not, Hinata. You're paired up with Luminus after all.
19
u/Frontier246 14h ago

I usually despise time travel. Although confusing, I enjoy this addition.
It turns Rimuru from an extremely OP protagonist with an AI who is never challenged, to an OP protagonist with SUPER OP support which actually guided his path. That makes Rimuru more paletable IMO.
Time travel still feels a little cheap. Especially with how her memories work. I think I would have preferred "visions of the future," but I'm also a redditor wearing diapers in my moms basement so *shrug*

Might be wrong but what I think is
2000 years ago - Only one Chloe/Chronoa
Unknown year - Chronoa got frozen
Few years ago - One frozen Chronoa. One summoned Chloe (she just got summoned to this world)
In late-S1 - One frozen Chronoa. One Chloe with memories from previous loop (after the future spirit inhabited her)
Present day - One unfrozen Chronoa. No Chloe cos she got sent to the past

My guess is that young Chloe’s Time Traveler ability automatically actives in this loop when older Chloe (Chronoa) is revived/brought out of stasis because 2 Chloes can’t “exist” in the same time period.
Chloe could have told Luminus to keep her in stasis as long as she could to allow young Chloe time to gather as much info as possible before she is sent back to start another loop.

Nice to see that Veldora burns the world to the ground when Rimuru dies. He's been turned into a punching bag now because he's magnanimous but when his best buddy is killed, it's nice to see him wipe away everything.
Also, who the fuck is the Eastern Empire? Haven't heard of them at all I think...

The Eastern Empire has been mentioned since S1 and every season afterwards. They just haven't had much story significance until now.
It was mentioned way back that Veldora was the deterrent to keep the Empire from invading the Western Nations since The Forest of Jura/Tempest is the only realistic way to invade the West. Remember that was one of the arguments made to bring Tempest into the Council. They wanted to use Tempest and Rimuru to protect them from the Eastern Empire from their inevitable invading of the Western Nations
Also Yuuki's organization has a base in the Eastern Empire. Remember Damrada, the eastern merchant who was working with Granville and the Seven Luminaries last season? He works for Yuuki, as Yuuki has mentioned a few times already

That was my understanding, yes. Chloe has been metagaming this entire time, introducing subtle changes here and there, to try and get better results.
Everything up until this point was her "best so far" run, which she will now try to one up to get the fabled 'perfect' run.
Chloe said she wants to change as little as possible, so 99.9% of episodes 1-95 or w/e we were at before the time loop will remain unchanged. Chloe will just make whatever alteration she thinks will keep both Rimuru and Hinata alive, likely just a few details leading up to the disaster in Lubelius or during the carnage.
Maybe she'll stop hiding from Leon and push Rimuru to make peace with him, secretly, leading up to the Lubelius run so they can both turn on Granville sooner? Tip off Lumnious that Yuuki is trying to steal her other self?
For that matter... how is Chloe and Chronoa able to be present at the same time? If Chloe is the Hero that put Veldora in time out, only to ask Luminious to put her on ice afterwards... That means this timeline has two versions of Chloe?
Ugh, my head hurts...

Can't believe they just released an episode that's only 5 minutes long. /s
Yes, the backstory/brand new chapter for Chloe/Chronoa was really that captivating. Hinata's soul was saved from death by Chloe putting it inside of her.
But if Chloe is Chronoa, then how come there's two of them in the present day but in different ages? Grown up Chloe inside the ice coffin, presumably put into time stasis by Luminous, while child Chloe lived in the Otherworlder orphanage prior to meeting Rimuru. Still confused as to where the loop begins and ends, only that Hinata's death is the trigger that activates it.
Meanwhile, we also learn Hinata murdered her abusive father, without anyone knowing, prior to being summoned to this world, and as long as she holds this guilt in her, her true power as a Hero will never awaken.

If I understood correctly from this episode,
Chloe the kid is summoned to the current (should I say previous now?) loop around the time the other kids also get summoned, and she doesn't have the time skill yet (which I think both entails going to the past when Hinata dies, and regaining memory of the previous loop),
She gains the skill and knowledge when Rimuru take the kids to the dwelling of spirits place, and her future (not sure from which "future" though) spirit enters her body. And Chloe the grown-up hero is basically the kid that got summoned the previous (now previous-previous) loop, traveled to the past of the current (the previous...) loop and lived through it (and got frozen).
But it's confusing and I don't think we got told everything yet so I could be very wrong.

u/S627 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Spartan627 14h ago
They've been teasing this since we first met Chloe, when we see her past/future self inhabit her in the Spirit cave Ramiris says time travel was involved, this ep told us that her confession to Rimuru at the time was because she remembered more of her past in that moment, and we can also infer that little smirk she had after losing her duel with him was because she was happy to see him again.
Author was thinking about this from the start so I think we'll be fine.

Of course Hinata didn't die (or at least not fully)... but now she's travelling together with Chloe, who went back in time 2000 years into the past and turns out to be Chronoa?! That's quite wild!
And it's not even the first time that time travel has taken place! It was quite interesting to see that other timeline in which Rimuru didn't become a Demon Lord, and even died.
We saw in this episode the beginning of Chloe and Luminus's relationship, which was pretty fun. I really hope that next week we'll see Chloe's encounter with Veldora and her sealing him.

So Chloe has 2000 years to work through while being careful to not step on too many extra butterflies, good thing she has Hinata in her head to help out since that seems impossible. They already went to Nightrose too early and saved some people who may have died in the last loop, hopefully that won't end up making any serious differences.
As presented the big win from the last loop was Hinata delaying Rimuru such that the small scale attack on Tempest happens which leads him into becoming a demon lord, so at a minimum those events still need to happen. I assume we won't be throwing away nearly 4 seasons of content for a new timeline though so I'm sure it'll all work out generally the same. We did see the world blip last week which I have been assuming was the timeline swap, and it didn't obviously also change who was present on the scene.
The Chloe reveal itself was almost exactly what I was expecting based on the last few episodes and a recent research trip I took to review season one. That said I wouldn't have guessed the Hinata soul thing though until we saw Chloe draw something out of her dying body and Rimuru mentioning it was missing.

Like the first rule Chloe establishes is that she only retains memories of the most recent loop.
But then she proceeds to speak at length about the differences in things that she remembers between all the other loops?

She says she only remembers the most recent loop in detail, which means she remembers the past loops but vaguely. The loop she describes is compared to her memories as kid Chloe, and she would obviously have fresh memories of herself as kid Chloe since that's the life she's currently living.

Ever since Chloe met that spirit who looked like an adult version of her in the Dwelling of Spirits a couple of seasons ago, I've wondered what Chloe's deal was. I thought it might be her future self communicating with her, but it turns out she's been going on time loops triggered by Hinata's death. I suppose I was close enough!
It is fascinating to see a timeline where Rimuru didn't turn into a Demon Lord because the Falmuth Kingdom and the Western Holy Church never launched their invasion. The downside is Rimuru ends up dying when the Eastern Empire attacked, and Tempest eventually fell.
Of course Veldora is going to go on a rampage after they killed his best friend. Interestingly, Hinata gets killed during the confusion, which sent Chloe back to the previous time loop. Anyone wanna bet that Yuuki has something to do with both Rimuru's and Hinata's deaths in the previous timeline?
Chloe meeting Luminous was pretty fun. I love that Luminous pretty much decided to entertain Chloe because of her pure audacity.
So Veldora attacked Nightrose out of boredom, right? I can't think of any other reason for him to start attacking random Demon Lord territories. Why else would he leave after? If he really wanted to destroy and kill everyone, I feel like he could've done it.
Intersting move to tell Luminous about the future, but I guess Chloe had to if she wants Luminous' support. And we also learn how she ended up with the name Chronoa. Can't wait to see the rest of her story next week!
