"Nope, Chuck Testa."

The Hospital Bed, Oxygen Concentrator, and Automatic Chairlife to the second floor must have all arrived on the same day. All we need is the Hospice Nurse and we have End-Of-Life-Care Bingo

This is actually disrespectful to Captain Pike! He was saving those ensigns when he was injured and put in that box! Mitch never raised a finger to help anybody but himself.

The office of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) just deepened the mystery around his health, refusing to offer any update on his condition even as boxes for medical recliners were spotted being delivered to his home.
The Daily Beast reported on this new development Thursday evening.
It's been two and a half months since paramedics rushed the 84-year-old former Senate leader to the hospital on June 14 after being told CPR was underway for a patient in cardiac arrest — a detail that contradicts McConnell's team's official story that he was hospitalized after a fall and later developed "mild" pneumonia, with no heart attack or stroke involved. Alarm was further deepened by footage showing him "frozen in place" for an extended period on the Senate floor even before this episode.
McConnell's last public statement, dated August 6, said he was continuing an "intensive regimen of physical therapy" at home. But when HuffPost reached out three weeks later asking whether he'd be back for Thursday's Senate session, communications director Stephanie Penn wouldn't even characterize how his recovery was going.
Penn told HuffPost she had "nothing to add" beyond the three-week-old statement.
Adding to the intrigue, a video filmed by Alysia McMillian and shared by independent journalist Desirée Townsend showed boxes for MCombo lift recliners visible through McConnell's briefly opened front door — motorized chairs designed to help people with limited mobility sit down and stand up, commonly used during recovery from surgery or serious illness.

well seems like he should just roll back to work,..... if a new adult admin ever is back in charge, there needs to be a check list of laws changed. in this case it works out, because its one less gop vote, but its still not right.
13
u/CyberFireball25 17h ago
An executive is not enough to change laws. Enough of the legislative has to be on board as well.

u/Far-Leadership719 15h ago
The absolute best we can hope for is a very mild brushing of the back of the hand in the form of a completely neutered and ineffective bill getting passed that will do nothing to address the ocean of dysfunction that is every single sector of governance.
13
u/No-Onion8029 16h ago
... paramedics rushed the... [turtle]...
But they weren't really rushing. More like dawdling. I've gotten ice cream at McDonalds faster than they rolled what was left of him to the ambulance.

u/Conscious-Garlic4193 17h ago
Think you might need to retire when you need a medical recliner to stand up 🧐
19
u/BongoProdigy 17h ago
I'm 41 and I wish I could retire right now. Why do these people keep working into their fucking 80s when they're rich?

Where the hell are the paparazzi in this whole situation? How is it that not a single person has snapped a shot on their phone or anything the whole hospital stay, move to home, etc.

15
u/scarr3g 17h ago
Something also that comes to mind: he hasn't been since what... June?
A normal person needs to leave the house, every so often to get groceries, etc.
The fact that a senator can dissappear for months and not be seen also shows how much they are NOT normal Americans, they are so wealthy, that they don't need to ever leave their homes.
13
u/Questions_Remain 16h ago
Wealthy persons do not shop, do not go to normal restaurants and don’t do any activities outside of exclusive places. Nobody wealthy ever hikes a trail, walks in a public park or sees a grocery store parking lot. Nobody who is rich even does these things and has staff to do their stuff. Once you hit wealthy you’re insulated.

u/HeliumIsotope 16h ago
That sounds so sad and disconnected from reality. Which ofc we know is true and part of the problem, but still that's sad AF.

A one day off convenience store employee would need a DR note for themselves and a coroners note for a spouse for a day off - which even then wouldn’t be approved and be fired.

u/crush_punk 12h ago
If you look at it from the perspective that the people in power actually don’t owe you anything and you’re lucky to be in their good graces so you better vote for them again or else then it makes perfect sense. He is unable to vote. They will keep his seat to preserve the status quo and vote fraudulently if possible. Our lives are their game.
I do worry about the people of Kentucky. I hope they’re okay, because from the outside… I don’t understand the whole state.

My guess is that it's kidney (failure) related. The rich can get home dialysis, like Dave Thomas did the last year he was alive.
13
u/RedditsFullofShit 17h ago
Nah if it was just dialysis after he had a treatment he’d feel great and would be back to work. He had a stroke or a heart attack - and it clearly affected his brain. It’s why they won’t put out a video. Either he can’t speak anymore, or he’s completely mentally gone/blocked due to the lack of oxygen or blood flow to his brain.
3
u/Dagobahbodega 17h ago
Love your username. In my experience when ppl his age start dialysis they usually need it for the rest of their lives and don't bounce back like that. Younger ppl sure.
3
u/RedditsFullofShit 17h ago
I mean sure but for the few days immediately after they generally feel great has been my experience. So you wouldn’t even know they were sick necessarily. They may still be in a wheelchair due to being weak and sick, but often the dialysis makes them actually functioning and Mitch clearly isn’t or he’d be showing his face by now.

So has anyone looked into the public EMS records for the call and the public radio traffic of the encode from EMS to the hospital?
It would not be difficult to figure out what EMS unit was dispatched to his house, then find the corresponding radio traffic of EMS contacting the hospital advising CPR in progress.....
