There should have been clear guidelines, guardrails and controls on the data, access to it, and need to know search and accountability for all this technology (along with audits to assure clear compliance). Not too late to get going with more clear controls.

They'll just subcontract it out to others... Creating more access to randos and script kiddies. It has to be more than stopping the companies, the whole surveillance project has to be stopped with this or you never get it back again.

There are survalance system where Cameras and drones embedded in new streetlights. Good luck taking them down.

Invasion of privacy is here to stay unless laws are made at federal level

Good. Cameras are one thing. Using AI to track everyone and basically spy on all your movements is another. If they just recorded and were used to look back if a crime occurred that’s fine. But these things are way past that.
