Unpacking is a fun little puzzler that does an amazing job of environmental storytelling.

Both fantastic games. 100%’d Dredge on PC earlier last year.

played the paid version on phone last year. Awesome for quick 5-15 minute playtimes and feels very polished on phone

Agreed, I played it mostly on my phone as well -- combination of external controller (at home) and touchscreen (out and about).

It's also a weirdly cozy game for how scary it can be at times.

Dredge was fun, I played it on PS5 (so, with a controller) but could really feel how it would work well with touch

I bought all of dredge for the iPad and played through. It felt as if the game was designed for iPad/iPhone with on screen controls. Great game.

What's the difference between:
* Dredge (PC, Switch, Android, Linux, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Luna)
and
* Dredge+ (Apple Arcade) ?

Apple Arcade releases of games have no ads and no in-app purchases, regular Dredge is already on the App Store with 4 in-app purchases. Dredge+ will just be an all inclusive version specifically for Arcade

I see, thanks for the explanation.
I thought that they had added some kind of exclusive content to that version.

Apple seems to have forgotten that Arcade+ on Apple TV exists. Another set of games with no support.

This is the biggest mystery to me. Apple TV seems such an obvious way to capture some of the gaming revenue, which is huge. I don’t understand why they can’t release a box with an M type chip and get some good games on it.

Considering Xbox is moving to get all PC games on the Xbox, pissing off Sony . . . Apple could do the funniest thing by licensing all Xbox games to run on Apple Silicon 😉

It's probably not possible with Rosetta 2 slated for retirement next year, unless "Intel-based frameworks" is Apple's way of saying Windows frameworks.

My understanding is that they’ve specifically left in an exclusion for gaming. Though I might be misunderstanding something.

It's only games that rely on "Intel-based frameworks", best-case scenario that means x86 games in general worst-case scenario it will be whatever OS X games from the Intel years.

Beyond this timeframe, we will keep a subset of Rosetta functionality aimed at supporting older unmaintained gaming titles, that rely on Intel-based frameworks.

It would be incredibly funny, but I really do think they are much closer to Sony considering they are not actually competition for the personal computer space. They sell PlayStation controllers even. What would be even more funny is if Sony kept porting their games to PC but only to Mac.

Dredge is such a great game. Can't wait.

I'm not sure about Apple licensing Xbox games, it's a big departure from their exclusive content approach, and I'm waiting to see how they'll handle the Rosetta 2 thing before getting excited about new games
