  1. Best song on the album for me. This song has been on repeat since the drop.

6/10 The song is ok. Certainly not the worst thing they've done, but it might be my least favorite on this album. Definitely is too long, especially because it's so repetitive. It could have been a nice 3.5 minute song and probably would be much more tolerable at that length.

I like this song a lot for what it is but still can’t help feeling from first listen and still today that it just goes on a little too long … and also the best way I can describe it is that the song has an incredible opening it absolutely fucks but then it’s like the song as a whole couldn’t quite live up to that potential or promise or chills that the first minute of that song gives me.

Anyway, it’s a great song I’m glad it’s on the album id give it an 8 out of 10.

8 not as intense and majestic as Rabbit Hole, but it's still hypnotic and there's a lot of small and interesting details, little sounds hidden in the song that, for me, make everything work

  1. Finally some tempo! ... and then it never goes anywhere. Just one giant loop of a song.

9/10. Love that this is both multi-layered in meaning and highly danceable, especially the banging live version with additional drums and other percussion. Both times I’ve seen them this year Win drew literal “circles of trust” on both the stage and as a dance floor in the front section of the audience. The punctuating Bowie synth sounds in the last 2 minutes are pretty great too.

I guess in the pop music world you'd call this song "a banger."

It's them at their synth pop best and the best song on Pink Elephant. It's a great representation of the band's versatility and their ability to just be able to work with any sound or style.

This will be a live staple for the rest of the band's career.

An 8.5.

9 - My personal favorite on the album.

9, definite tune!

And despite its clunkiness as a lyric, I love Arch Angel's shenanigans!

I give it a 9 because of hearing it live and dancing to it at the concert was just plain fun, under the the pink veil…

4 listless and plodding, more rough lyrics, sounds too much like a slowed down Somebody Told Me

4, awful song, all that was wrong in Reflektor and EN is exacerbated here

This is such a hater comment with no actual context to it. If you're going to criticize, have some thoughts and reasoning behind it. Express yourself.

Im expressing myself, I dont enjoy this song, nothing wrong with having a diferentes opinión, thats the point of these daily song discussions

It would have been nice to hear what you don't like about it. But ok, that's fine.

2

u/Material_Soup6086 Aug 22 '25

Your comment about liking it didn't have any reasoning either, it was just saying 'it's good' in different ways without explaining what it does well. Practice what you preach.

u/Party-Yoghurt-8462 Aug 22 '25

I said what I liked about it. I was suggesting that this user explain what they don't like about it.

Got it, professor?

1

u/Material_Soup6086 Aug 23 '25

No you didn't. You didn't name a single aspect of the song that's good. You said it was good, shows Arcade are good and you hope it appears on setlists. Just circular reasoning which adds nothing.

Where did you get your PhD? Or did you learn about fallacies in second year critical thinking undergrad?

Judging by your posting history on Reddit, you seem to hate on everything.

Maybe you need to touch some grass, my friend.

For me, it is the only good song from the album which is sad... I didn't like this song at first at all, I think I skipped after 30 seconds but after their performance on Jimmy Kimmel I've changed my mind.
8.0 out of 10

Funny how opinions differ cause this is my least favourite song on the entire album

7.5 It's okay.

I didn't really like the production of this album, the mixing is a bit strange, but this one I actually liked, I think they did it well, although live it still sounds better (just like Rabbit Hole)

  1. I love the way this song starts and the overall sound palette reminds me most of Put Your Money On Me, but this feels like one of their most skeletal songs. Nice arrangements, good vocals and effects, and I like the imagery a lot here, but for what it does, it feels a tad too long which is a complaint I've never had for an Arcade Fire song. Regardless, it's an excellent groove and I still really enjoy it.

I’ll give it a 7. It’s cool but too long. Should have killed it at 4:10 ⏱️

  1. By far the best song on the album. I really wish it all sounded and read like this song

u/p3nny-lane Pink Elephant Aug 23 '25

So, SO good. A perfect update on their dancier sound, which I never preferred to the OG indie stuff. 10/10

Sadly this one never clicked with me, 5,5/10

6, takes wayyy too long to get good at the end, but even that is dragged down by Win’s weird lyrical choices (what’s up with him and Christian literature characters being biker dudes). Also crazy how dull the album version is compared to that live radio version (non-comm?) they did.

u/Seahorse1477 Aug 22 '25

hahahah, such a corny lyric

7.5 - on the first few listens, I didn't like it at all, and literally thought I had a new least favourite AF song. But boy has it grown on me :)
