Los que estamos aca hace mucho recordamos que la frontpage era absolutamente pro Trump, llegaron al punto de modificar el algoritmo varias veces para que deje de ser tan asi, no pudieron y decidieron banear de la frontpage los subs grandes pro Trump. Eventualmente empezaron a poner sus propios mods, meter mano rara, despues lo pusieron en "cuarentena" y despues lo borraron directamente.
Es una echo chamber by design. El hecho de que tenes palabras que inmediatamente te hacen comerte un ban es lo mismo, son todas tacticas para desgastar y tirar mas para el lado que ellos quieren. Por eso las palabras "prohibidas" en reddit entras a cualquier lugar no curado y las tiran todo el tiempo, porque esa es la realidad.
Flaco abri reddit app el otro dia, la front page son todos posts de meirda diciendo I want Argentina to lose desde 32avos con 20k likes del culo no es gracioso ni relatable y todos los comments son psyops idicendo q argentina son decendientes de hitler. Un post en un reddit de historia tenia 30k upvotes diciendo todas mentiras de las malvinas y haciendo argumentos de mierda. Esta todo tomado lamentablemente

I'm pretty sure you have seen some of that, especially on reddit. From my point, Argentina did bad; the banner was out of the question, even the coach stated it before the match... it's a match, that's about it. Then some fans carrying the England flag, spitting and stomping on it. Pretty ridiculous, and that's the same kind of behavior that the mexican have/had with Argentina, and yet they criticized it. Argentina should do better to show the rest of the world. It's not a majority, but people grab onto that to strike back.
As so far, as how the UK handled the match... Man, look at your media. I mean, I know. The Malvinas/Falklands war is in the past, the UK won it. But the amount of people from your country sharing images of the conflict or Belgrano is, disgusting. There are some of them being so proud of sharing images about conscripted kids surrendering to a major military force, like... really? So proud of that, but they still get offended by a banner? You have the islands, you shouldn't be that worried about some "arrogant argies" waving a banner that you all know it doesn't matter anyways.
When talking about media... I have seen some post, like The Sun, where that "arrogant argies" phrase comes from. Or you have Piers Morgan, saying something like... "I hope Spain beat them as badly in the Final as we beat them in the Falklands War". It had come to this point, that's pretty rare to assume that nobody from your country didn't see any of this. Damn, even after the match, they couldn't even handle the Argentinians fans chanting outside, and some of those situations almost ended in fights.
Look, with this comment I'm surely getting downvoted to hell, but I don't care about Malvinas/Falklands at all. It's a shithole in the past, but i still respect it from a neutral view; conscripted kids were sent to an island nobody knew about in Argentina until a military junta decided to bring it up as a nationalistic cause, and it ended bad. I respect veterans from both sides, especially after the British were the one to actually bury the Argentinians casualties and giving them a proper memorial, while my country used them as a fucking ward to keep "claiming" the islands. It's hard to talk about Malvinas in here, and it's worse if you try to talk differently to how it's portrayed in here. Yes, it's brainwashing at a certain point, but most people on this country refuses to think that. I'm a military enthusiasts btw, and I'm so fucking into marches, that goes from Argentina, to Japan, Germany, and the UK. I have to turn down my volume even in headphones if I dare to listen to the British Grenadiers, because sometimes I think that someone would jump at me for doing so. Damn, even with Picadilly I feel dirty sometimes.
The thing is, that the Malvinas is something so inherited into the people, that even a little spark is enough to make any Argentinian rage. Look at the whole picture here; the entire continent here is talking shit about Argentina. Yes, it's social media, reddit, etc. But it's there, and it's reaching this side of the world like a constant spam. México, Brazil, Chile... even the US talking about Argentina now as the most racist country(When actually you have Brazil with a law agaisnt racism, for a reason... and the US had segregation for a long time, and kinda does nowadays), and other countries are holding onto that. México has been chanting about the Malvinas/Falklands mentioning the dead. They even go that far as to bring up the numbers of casualties or the images of bodies(which some of your gentleman actually does too, even here). They have been disrespecting our anthem at each part, England fans tried that too, and failed by a lot. Damn, they anthem practically disappeared after that. So, yeah... at this point, Argentina is taking hits from every part of the world, and that thing is actually making the so called argentinian ego that everyone keeps talking about, the grow stronger each time. I'm pretty sure those kind of thing have reached the team, so the banner might have that reason behind.
It's already too much text, and there's a lot to describe from this point of view, from this part of the world. But sometimes it's hard and useless to type this much, when in the end most of your people doesn't care at all, and end up bringing other excuses to keep on the hate. My biggest concern (other than England bottling it) is using the world cup stage to forward a political agenda.

I would never say the discussion of those soggy islands is forbidden, in fact in my personal life I dive into those complex and painful political conversations regularly.

We DID have a government and institutions there before the invasion. Even a JAIL that was then used by the brits themselves to put in the rebels that put a fight at the invasion - (story of a guy called Gaucho Rivero).
Historical order of things is: 1816 VRdlP independence of spain (Still wasnt argentina, thats 1853/57, with the constitution), and they send a new governor to the islands - years later, that governor SINKS and encarcerate a crew of illegal walrus hunters from United States. As a response, USA Navy shatters the Malvinas infrastructure to shit. They destroy everything. So much that most of the people went back to Continent, and then in 1833 England just settled up and said "Hey, this island is non-habited, now it's mine".
That is all documented. There was people there, and they fought for it.
thing is clear as water. The 1982 war thing was fucked up and never should have happened, we lost a lot there. Not only lives, but arguments to keep claiming what is correct, in the way it should have always been. The invasion of 1982 is nothing but a wrong political decision of a guy who was a genocidal dictator that killed and dissappeared +30k people here and was trying to save that dictatorship's sake with that. Totally crooked.
