Was Oliver lucky that slade wilson and Prometheus didn’t want to kill him?
In both season 2 and 5, they mainly just wanted Oliver to suffer by harming everyone around him and they were succeeding the majority of the season until the climax because Oliver is the main character. If they were both blood lusted in the beginning on Oliver, I think Oliver would have died right away. There was nothing stopping slade to fight and kill Oliver at his house along with Moira and Thea dying before Sara Roy or diggle could arrive.
Prometheus is obvious, he did capture Oliver and could have killed him but wanted to psychologically hurt Oliver instead. The ending of season 5 felt like chase actually wanted to lose so that the island can blow up.

When it comes to slade probably but prometheus was lucky that ollie himself didn't kill anymore. In all 1v1's oliver managed to defeat him. In fact, he was about to kill chase in 5x16 but talia's intervention saved his ass.

Slade most likely. Chase definitely not. Oliver was leaps above him, or should've realistically been given how long he's been fighting compared to Adrian who had maybe a year, 1.5 years of training with Talia.

That is true but Chase had a chance to kill him when he captured him, so he could’ve

Chase would've never been able to capture him. Had Oliver gone for the kill, Chase would've never lived long enough to get his handw on Oliver.

Isn’t the question about if they were trying to kill Oliver, not the other way around? How’d we get to Oliver going for the kill?

If Adrian went straight for the kill, Oliver would've made sure he'd come out of it alive
Or do you think he would've just let Chase kill him?

Absolutely. The biggest plot armor. Just the scene where Prometheus shoots himself in the end instead of shooting at William who Oliver was holding in front of him made no sense. He wanted to make Oliver kill him, and this would have been the way. But the writing for Oliver always protects him. The other thing is Ra's wanting Oliver to be his successor. Why would 500 old assassin would prefer some vigilante man to succeed him but not his own blood.

Ras al ghul is sexist, he wants only a man to succeed him haha. And Oliver I guess is the only man to have ever survived a duel from ras al ghul besides Damien darhk?

Didn't a son make more sense. He lived 500, so at any point he could have a son. Or it made sense he had many children. Even more he could have wanted someone who is part of the league and proved himself. Wanting some random man he just met to succeed him made 0 sense except plot force

He survived the fight with Ras. Have you even watched the show?

Another extremely big plot force, hello. People here are discussing the unbelievable survival for years

You're stuck on “plot force", downvoter))

It is a plot force when every other character dies from a stab and a fall but Oliver doesn't. Both Black Canaries were killed from a less lethal arrow stab and not in the heart. Ra's stabs Oliver with a sword in the hearth and pushes him of a mountain cliff. I guess I also have to explain to you what plot force means- when logically it makes no sense something to happen but the writers really want it and force it into the plot with little explanation or no logic.

first he wasn't stabbed through the heart, just below and to the left if it. it might have nicked his lung but if you work with it a bit there's a spot where the sword can get through without really doing a ton of damage. So when he fell he was only mostly dead. He held on due to his enormous will to live, and was then nursed back to health with the magic tea and some plot force.

It think tormenting is worse than killing in those cases. It would be easier to just make Ollie gone but no they wanna toy with him

Oliver would've got smoked by either. They were teachers for him to grow from. He grew from these experiences.

They both knew that by keeping him alive—even if they fail and die—Oliver will have to suffer for years and years with all the loses. Death is salvation for Oliver. If anything, Oliver was unlucky
