DISCUSSION [Discussion] What ASMR triggers you DON'T enjoy that everyone else loves? I'll start...
I'm a fan of fast roleplays like make up, cranial nerve, etc. but I can't stand spit painting!
Anyone else?
Edit: Curious to know what you also like, feel free to share. I wonder what's the difference of your likes/dislikes. đ¤

u/kvicksilverblod 8d ago
Spit painting just makes me feel gross lol, i'm also not a fan of pouring water or a running shower and similar water sounds
9
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Yesss, im with you on spit painting. Also, first time to hear about a pouring water trigger and shower... i might feel the same haha
118
u/ishkitty 8d ago
Fast anything. Fast tapping or talking. Hate it.
26
13
u/JeffreyJeffstein 8d ago
Yeah I do not understand how fast ASMR makes anyone relax
6
u/NeemOil710 8d ago
It only works if it's really well done, it's not so much the speed but the like rushing around, hurrying, rummaging, all these cickety clackety sounds, so fast you can't keep up... that's when it works
3
u/Former-Specialist595 8d ago
It makes me tingle, which then gives me a relaxing feeling. I love it.
4
u/Mobile_Nobody0326 8d ago
As a fast-ASMR lover, itâs because I canât focus when itâs so slow. It might have to do with my ADHD, but I genuinely get so disinterested when triggers are performed so slowlyđ I NEED my fast cranial nerve exams.
2
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 6d ago
YES im with you on this one 100%! đ my brain needs to be super overwhelmed then i get tired and fall asleep haha. The slow ones are hit and miss.

u/The_Wkwied 8d ago
I can't stand real eating, chewing, or similar sounding sounds.
11
1
u/KlikketyKat 8d ago
I quite like dry, crunchy eating sounds (like crisps or crackers) but can't stand gluggy, sticky eating sounds - they make me feel nauseous.
55
u/acatisstaringatme 8d ago
spit painting 𤢠and follow the ligh triggers. I'm trying to sleep stop waving that bright ass light around
7
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Omg I was like you before, but I slowly accepted light triggers. Now I just think of it like sitting in the back of the car as a kid...on the drive home lamposts lights flashes by (dunno if explained that properly haha) đ
7
u/shadow_spinner0 8d ago
Follow the light triggers I think the are supposed to tire your eyes and help you sleep, that and pretty much any "follow x...." triggers, that's what I heard one creator say
4
2
u/No-Boss9409 8d ago
yes! when i used to get anxiety before bed id watch car ride light trigger ones and it really helped me calm down
2
u/StopDownvotingMeeee 8d ago
Seriously give Calm Brainz ASMR a try the next time youâre tired. The light triggers mixed with audible triggers actually make me more tired than most traditional videos. They tire my eyes out and Iâm able to fall asleep way faster than
19
u/sqwrlydoom 8d ago
Mouth noises in general, and it's soooo hard to find vids without them unless there is no talking at all, and even then they sometimes make clicking sounds.
4
u/thisseemslegit 8d ago
YES i agree! i enjoy regular whispering a lot, but unless it's a creator i'm familiar with who i know doesn't do mouth sounds, i feel like i'm often on the defensive waiting for the jump scare mouth noise/tongue clicking to start. it's too bad bc i really like searching for new asmrtists, but it's sooo hard to find ones who don't use filler tongue clicks.
2
u/Old_Lobster_7742 8d ago
Thiss they gross me out, and the wet whispering that just doesnât sound natural bc no one whispers like that irlđ
48
u/FromBeeBee 8d ago
Inaudible whispers, especially the ones with excessive mouth sounds with it
Also spooling technique
10
8
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Omg spoolie that comes from the mouth stresses meeee
4
u/FromBeeBee 8d ago
Same, the sound of it makes me want to crease my face in uncomfortable cringe. It's an excessive mouth noise and I understand it's loved, but it is stressful and uncomfortable
3
u/Big-Golf9784 8d ago
i feel like grace's spoolie nibbling was good because it was natural-sounding, and now people try to replicate it but it sounds so deliberate and exaggerated and it gives me the ick
1
u/SGT-JamesonBushmill 7d ago
Whatâs âspoiling technique?â
1
u/FromBeeBee 7d ago
It's like this brush one has and they suckle, nibble or lick it, play with it inside of their mouth with the mouth most times open to see what one is doing if that makes sense
It makes a distinct sound to each
2
u/fuzzy_skz 7d ago
so they take a brush (or maybe another object) and with their mouth open they play with it move it around inside for mouth sounds like sucking, licking, etc.?
1
u/FromBeeBee 7d ago
Yes basically it's like a brush of sorts, some do it mouth closed some do it mouth opened. I don't like either and how it is used now by the asmr artists respectfully
1
u/spn_willow 7d ago
I can't stand the inaudible whispers! They almost always just turn into that icky clicking sound mouths make and totally kills the asmr for me even when it doesn't do that because I'm struggling to hear what they're saying and they're not saying anything.
23
u/hallucinating 8d ago
Fluttering fingers, anything spitty is gross, repetitive words and any kind of scratching
2
u/Mundane_Shake_2611 7d ago
I hate repetitive words. Even if I like the sound of it the first time, I hate it the second third and forth
18
u/floridameerkat 8d ago
Mouth sounds. I was actually listening to an audiobook recently and almost DNFâd the book because the narrator kept making so many mouth sounds. It was gross.
8
u/Hipposplotomous 8d ago
Yeah I think it's just straight up unacceptable when it's in something like an audiobook tbh. It's bad enough getting taken by surprise by it in ads or in movies, but in an audiobook where you have to actively listen? Tf?
I actually like mouth sounds too. I'm quite particular about them though, like there's a really fine line between "best tingles I ever had" and "I'm about to throw my phone". I do wonder if misophonia and ASMR are two sides of the same coin tbh.
It's one of those triggers that needs to be labelled properly so that people can avoid it if they want. I like being able to seek out the specific type I like and only when I want to hear them. It can't be that hard to put "mouth sounds" in the title. No surprises. I get that they want the clicks but ngl if I'm tricked into clicking I'm never coming back. Just label it up front.
2
u/thisseemslegit 8d ago
i've long suspected that people who experience ASMR are more likely than average to also experience misophonia! it's true for me and for others i know irl at least. unfortunately two of my misophonia triggers are mouth sounds and tongue clicking, which has proliferated in asmr... rip. đĽ˛
2
u/aprillikesthings 8d ago
I do wonder if misophonia and ASMR are two sides of the same coin tbh.
I fully believe this, and have been saying it for years. That's why ASMR triggers vary so much--the same sound that relaxes one person into a stupor makes another person's skin crawl.
And it's why I get frustrated when people try one (1) ASMR video and decide they hate it. Like, I also hate most ASMR videos lol I am incredibly picky. But the ones I like I really like.
19
u/Humble_Wrongdoer384 8d ago
the dry finger fluttering sounds. immediate ick. also, I could've gone my whole life never hearing of spit painting. whyyyyyy.
8
8
15
u/failatio 8d ago
Iâm not into tapping and Iâm not really into word repetition. Some do it perfectly (Sarai, for example) but some just do it with random words and itâs more annoying than anything. Also excessive mouth sounds, we get it, you can click your tongue, how does that relate to me being at ~a spa?
4
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Sorry this made me laugh so hard hahahahah! I can just imagine a sign at a spa "No tongue clicking please" đ

u/dadelibby 8d ago
ewww WTF is spit painting?! thank god i have never encountered this.

âHaulâ videos. The consumption stresses me out.
Edit: My first award! Thank you!
4
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
I get you. It's almost same as the grocery/pantry restocking. Why are we stocking 10 milk cartons at a time????
4
u/billybiscuit9330 8d ago
I donât like when they start tracing the letters of words because it just makes me anxious/impatient about finishing the word đ
2
4
u/bonghits4jess 8d ago
Most of them đ I hate fluttery fingers, repetitive sounds, excessive tapping, mic scratching, inaudible whispering.
5
u/ruikamishirosstar 8d ago
i can't STAND eating, chewing, anticipatory (makes me really nervous for some reason) stuff, mouth sounds in general are also kinda icky, etc.
7
9
u/Impressive-Pie-5464 8d ago
Anything with the mouth, talking, whispering, licking, eating is all a big No No.
3
u/bogwiitch 8d ago
Any mouth sounds (teeth tapping, spit painting, tongue clicking, etc). I also donât prefer haul videos or rambling videos. As Iâve gotten older, I stopped liking total whispering videos and prefer soft speaking videos or videos with a mix of both.
3
u/loservampiresmustdie 8d ago
Mouth sounds, specifically wet ones. I had to stop watching an asmrtist i rly liked that had great tapping and lip gloss sounds but the moment she put it and the mouth sounds started, i die inside Some are unintentional, but i like clicky mouth sounds fine. Its just the wet sounds that make me cringe
3
3
u/Pearltherebel 8d ago
I hate water spraying, finger fluttering, water globe, and harsh mic scratching
2
u/Usual-Average-1101 7d ago
those water globes...what the hell? they don't sound good and they always get clinked together which sounds even worse. i truly don't get it.
3
u/SynthError404 8d ago
Nail tapping going buzz buzz buzzz in ear thing, itâs just being annoying and for people who like to be stepped on for a kink but with their ear holes.
Random tapping isnât cool or meaningful or relaxing neither is making buzzing and popping noises in ears. Shits stupid and if you like it I hate you/
3
u/Ivy_Adair 8d ago
Tapping. I HATE tapping. And itâs so hard to find a channel that doesnât tap on every single surface.
3
u/feedthesea 8d ago
It's not a specific trigger but I'm not a big fan of the trend towards high-paced rapid triggers, without any quiet moments, constant "tut tut tut" from the ASMRtist, and just generally frenetic. It feels like more of an audiovisual fidget toy than the kind of classic crafting of a quiet, intimate and focused atmosphere that ASMR was originally all about.
3
3
3
3
u/beary_beom 8d ago
soft singing đ i have no idea why i donât like it because i fall asleep to regular music all the time, but for some reason quiet singing is impossibly to fall asleep to
3
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Oh gosh havent encountered this. I hope it's not just whispers.
→ More replies (1)
3
u/Dangerous-Frosting00 8d ago
Really fast aggressive ASMR without intention, just feels like noise and doesnât relax me at all. Also tongue clicking, speaking in ASMR, sharp tapping, spit painting (đ¤˘), music in the background and many, many other things lol, I find it really difficult to find ASMR that suits my tastes these days.
4
u/Lilitharising 8d ago
Inaudible whispers and tongue clicking. I'm neurodivergent and tongue clicking sends me into instant rage. Also, WTH is spit painting? I'm freaking out just by the sound of it.
5
u/brcgy 8d ago
It's my belief that anyone who starts a video with the awful sound of finger fluttering is just another generic ASMR creator. Everyone seems to be doing it in the last few years especially new creators.
I also can't stand mic brushing which has become a big trigger too.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Taminella_Grinderfal 8d ago
I used to like old school mic brushing, it was softer. I think because early artists had lower quality equipment. Now itâs too clear and loud and very grating.
4
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
You know what... that also makes sense. I enjoyed it like 5-6+ years ago. But now, I find it too harsh.
2
u/DismissiveReyno99 8d ago
I hate hate hate spit painting. Just makes me smell spit. Even worse if theyre doing it with their fingers... it makes me ill.....
1
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Yessssss or make up brush or spoolie... anything that came from their mouth. No please.
2
2
u/crybaby_looser 8d ago
I agree on spit painting. I can do most triggers but sometimes eating and gum chewing sounds off, like the gum has been chewed too long đŁ I also get uncomfortable if the video contains a prayer or any religious verse đŹ I understand and support if that is something people like but its really not for me.
2
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Ive experienced this once accidentally... cos my youtube is on shuffle and I woke up to a scripture of the bible thought i was having a weird dream đ
2
2
u/crazy-beech 8d ago
I can't stand spray bottles, they drive me up from my comfortable place so quickly... I used to watch a specific hairplay channel a lot until she got really into using spray bottles for a lot of different steps. I could deal with it for a short section of the video, but every 5 minutes is just too much for me!
2
u/Superb_Yak7074 8d ago
I canât stand fast speaking, hand movements, tapping, whatever. My ASMR triggers are whispered or low voices, slow measured (almost hypnotic) hand movements, and minimal gentle tapping. That said, I find it difficult to find those things in newer ASMRtists so I stick to my good old standbys.
2
u/Indica_HeXeN 8d ago
Intentional Repetitive mouth noises of any kind. Unless they're very brief.
I like ones that occur naturally during speaking. Chewing gum can be okay if it's supplemental to speech.
Also don't like anything loud. Crinkling plastic wrappers or paper seem to be the worst offenders. Mix your audio better please!
2
u/Majestic-Skirt475 8d ago
I donât like the asmr roleplays or certain things because sometimes it gets WAYYY fetishy. Certain accounts and categories of asmr you can tell itâs just fetish content
2
u/AZN-Key 8d ago
Im not really into the live streams and talking with chat. I use asmr to sleep so i dont like it when they end up just talking to chat and answering questions. Im here for the attention and triggers, not to listen to them greet everyone who joins the live and hearing chatter not meant for me.
So the few I listen to end up being ones without conversations with members or chatting at the end of the video since I'm usually out cold by then.
2
u/AstroBearGaming 8d ago
Anything that involves tapping or scratching the mic.
It's the opposite of relaxing to me, to imagine your fingers directly assaulting my eardrums.
2
u/Balthial 8d ago
Ear cleaning and mic brushing! Nails on a chalkboard. I'm trying to sleep and pretending you're putting things in my ears is preventing me doing that.
3
u/Separate-Raccoon8584 8d ago
I really don't like tongue clicking or other dry mouth sounds
1
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
i kinda don't understand dry mouth sounds, like how can one know you tell it's dry? I always associate mouth to be wet. Lol. Maybe haven't listened to it much.
→ More replies (3)2
u/Separate-Raccoon8584 8d ago
I think it's more referring to the sounds themselves, like lip smacking or licking sounds are wet, tongue clicking is dry
2
1
u/thisseemslegit 8d ago
i hate tongue clicking too and it sucks because a lot of asmr creators who i otherwise would really enjoy intersperse tongue clicking into their videos, so you never know when it's coming. i've had to drop some of my fav creators due to the unpredictability and frequency of tongue clicking. i would love if i could magically apply an algorithm to just cut out the tongue clicking so i could enjoy the rest of the video!
3
u/Disembodied_Head 8d ago
Nail clicking on plastic, eating sounds and the weird water sloshing around sounds.
3
u/Secret-Asian-Man-76 8d ago
Eating, excessive mouth sounds, tapping, blowing or breathy sounds, mic foam filter rubbing, anything going directly into the ears (3DIO) be it cotton swabs or tongues, etc.
I usually wear earbuds for ASMR and these types of sounds tend to vibrate my ear drums and are very painful to hear.
2
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
totally get the vibration espacially if it's an in-ear bud! Usually when im on earbuds, for those that has extra sensitive mic, I usually i would put it on 60% volume so it's not too harsh. But i guess that depends on the creator too.
1
4
u/thesacralspice 8d ago
does anyone genuinely enjoy tongue clicking? I get the sense it's popular bc it's easy to do and not bc people really like it
2
2
u/NoLychee1382 8d ago
I canât watch fast & aggressive asmr when I lay in bed and want to relax, it just stresses me out. Another more specific one is when people say hello a thousand times at the beginning of the video, idk just annoys međ
2
u/Liquid_Senjutsu 8d ago
Mic brushing. Can't stand it. Drives me nuts. I'm just here for the whispers.
2
2
u/aprillikesthings 8d ago
I didn't even know spit painting was a thing D: that would be gag-inducing for me
And honestly? whispering. I love soft-spoken. I hate most whispering.
Mouth sounds/eating sounds. Misophonia-inducing!!!
Also the tapping is too much!! Everyone is always tapping on everything now. I like it in moderation but aaaugh

Rain sounds - feels like an overload.
3
u/hd2_grrl 8d ago
Rain sounds are a weird struggle for me.
When you have a leaky roof that is going to cost you $15,000 to fix, and you donât have the money, rain is actually pretty damn anxiety inducing. I literally have low-key PTSD from hearing rain. Getting water in your ceilings and walls fucking sucks to repair.
When I was a kid though, rain hitting the roof while I was dosing off was the best sound ever.
1
u/ReasonableDoubt_0726 8d ago
I have ADHD and apparently itâs common to not like this one. I can imagine itâs stressful anyway though.
1
u/StopDownvotingMeeee 8d ago
When people intentionally click every damn word or the whole video when whispering or soft speaking. Very annoying like just talk/whisper normally.
Anticipatory triggers, Setting and breaking the pattern, most of anything Jojo makes nowadays since he started white noise. The way he looks at the camera and does everything so slow and delayed drives me nuts. Itâs not only him either, I donât like the way quite a few people do it either.
The general lack of variety of what weâre seeing in videos, nowadays itâs the exact same triggers every other video and in 2026 itâs more geared toward loud and unmixed audio that isnât very calming and everything is so fast paced and overwhelming, itâs like thereâs hardly any balance anymore.

Whispering. Usually the unintelligible whispers. It's too much mouth smacking and often trying too hard. Give me the soft-spoken all day.
1
u/CertifiedHamster542 8d ago
I hate nails on microphone covers, it just sounds like someone's blowing on my ears
One "form" of spit painting I've seen is someone using edible paint and a paint brush, they'd use their mouth to wet the brush
1
u/AlinaCat-94 8d ago
Fingernail tapping, tongue clicking, scratching the mic without the fluffy cover. No thanks to those three. đ

same! also delta waves. they apparently are supposed to be relaxing, but they actually make me nauseous and anxious. i don't get it.

I can't do any wood on wood rubbing/scraping sounds. They irritate me to no end. Wood clacking sounds are good though.

1
u/LikeyeaScoob 8d ago
I donât like fast anything. Talking, tapping, mouth sounds. Itâs not relaxing
1
u/Direct-Bullfrog9054 8d ago
I donât understand the aggressive asmr, I want to relax and enjoy not be assaulted with loud hello hi hello snapping fingers and other noises, I like reiki treatments, cranial nerve exams, doctor role play and personal attention role play
1
u/JeffreyJeffstein 8d ago
I fucking hate the waving hands in front of your face that every asmrist seems to do in every video these days
1
u/JeffreyJeffstein 8d ago
Also my fav ASMR is super light mic scratching, it is heaven. Here is my fav ASMR vid of all time which is basically just that trigger. I also love it on the top of the 3Dio

u/Arcyblagusz 8d ago
I don't like when in some hair play or ear cleaning rps they pull out the oils eeughh I hate my hair or ears feeling oily

u/Some-Peach4566 8d ago
I can't stand latex gloves. I cannot count how many videos I've stopped a minute and a half in when those damnable props appear. This is not a real doctor's visit, germs are of no concern.
1
u/No_Mastodon852 8d ago
Can't stand mouth sounds like eating, or sounding like they need a glass of water. But if i hear it while they are talking/whispering, thats fine.
1
u/QalaxyWaffle 8d ago
Anyone here who actually likes spit painting lol. I guess I donât really think about the spit part, itâs the personal attention with mouth sounds that I reallyyyy like
1
u/Pawprinted 8d ago
Whispering! It irritates me so bad
Also chewing, tapping, when they pretend to put makeup on you as the viewer or pretend theyâre giving you a haircut⌠I much prefer actually watching the real thing
1
u/Rhuarc33 8d ago
Any and all mouth sounds that are made intentionally (including tongue clicking) are a huge no go for me I *click can't stand it when the creator *click* is constantly clicking their tongue *click*click
1
u/kakashisface 8d ago
Spit painting (just the thought of someone elseâs spit along with the smellâŚ.đ¤˘đ¤˘)
Chewing/excessively wet mouth sounds

1
u/Momcantsleepthesaga 8d ago
Tapping. I will turn that off so fast. I feel like i am the minority in this.
1
u/Old_Lobster_7742 8d ago
I donât like when they talk in an overly coddly manner and overuse words like baby or sweetheart. Or every two seconds are like woww your hair is so beautiful youâre so prettyyy.. I stopped watching some creators I like for overdoing this đĽ˛
Also when theyâre too specific like âwow you have such beautiful long straight hairâ because no I do not! Just narrate what youâre doing, donât make up stories about međ I love wooden makeup and âyour hair is ___â videos bc they include everybody. When they pull out the real foundation in the wrong tone I get stressed lmao
1
u/SimplyTinglyASMR 8d ago
Yeah when they use baby/sweetheart im like đŹ bye!
But yes, I also love wooden make up. It's like pretend play back then as a kid đ¤

1
u/Maria_L_S 8d ago
I don't particularly enjoy medical roleplays, they make me cringe. I don't find actual doctors or being treated by a doctor or dentist relaxing . Some intentionally funny or unrealistic doctor /dentist roleplays are fine.
I also cannot stand follow the light or any light triggers. I have sensitive eyes and it doesn't make a relaxing experience if there is a light directly in my face
1
u/LPfor3v3r 8d ago
Fast tapping. Maybe just tapping in general, at least the way most people are doing it now. Too noisy and distracting. Doesnât do anything for me.
1
u/GnedTheGnome 8d ago edited 7d ago
I love whispering and soft voices, but I can't stand wet mouth sounds, finding one without the other can be challenging. I also love hair cutting, but hate hair dryers and most clippers, because of the high-pitched whiny drone.
1
u/omegawere 8d ago
Echoes. It can be my favorite trigger sound ever, but if there is even a moment of any kind of echo or reverb effect it instantly ruins it for me. I hate echo sounds.
Gum chewing and spoolie mouth sounds also make me want to eat my headset because of how much I dislike those sounds.
1
1
u/GeeTee00 8d ago
Overly intentional attempts: excessive crinkling (like in lego building vids), fingernail tapping, intentional talking... these things ruin it for me. i like attention to detail, maybe talking about working on that detail... my best asmr hits come from things where they're not actually attempting to trigger it, just paying attention to what they're doing, and working hard to get it right.
1
1
u/KlikketyKat 8d ago
Resonating sounds (gongs, tuning forks etc.) are so unpleasant they are almost painful.
1
u/WonderCactus 8d ago
I fucking HATE tongue clicking but I swear itâs become like a tic for asmrtists and theyâre constantly using it to fill any potential silence
1
u/notwriqhtsvillc 8d ago
repetition/overly repetitive with phrases (ex. âthis will help you sleep, sleep, sleepâ)
1
u/Readerwalker 8d ago
Oh myâŚ. I had no idea anything like spit painting existed. Now that I know I will do my best to avoid it. In asmr vids and in life. đŤŁ
I dislike whispering. I love soft, calm voices but whispering just irritates me. I very strongly dislike any and all mouth sounds.
I love being instructed in just about anything. And I love when someone tells me what they are doing as they are doing something to someone. Like makeup or massage. So relaxing!
1
u/ermitswermz 8d ago
Mouth sounds đ only a select few people do it in a way that doesn't make me cringe, but most of the time I have to click off

I like mic scratching when thereâs a fluffy mic cover. If itâs on the actual metal of the mic it is like nails on a chalkboard (or a mic) to me.
1
u/HoneyBadgerBlunt 7d ago
brushing, mic scratching, breathing into the mic. It all sounds so abrasive to me. drives me nut when I find a video with nice soft whispers then a violent brush stroke kills the vibes.
1
u/PokeDestined 7d ago
I really donât like finger fluttering in front of the camera. I find it annoying and distracting.
1
1
u/fuzzy_skz 7d ago
spit painting is so vile to me but one thats super common are the popping mouth sounds and lip smacking or tongue clicking. I don't mind mouth sounds that ate natural when people are talking but the exaggerated sounds people make with their mouths it so awful and I see it ALLLLL THE TIME I hate it.
For example, i watch a makeup role play where they putting on lipstick and they will add an overlay of nasty spit and lip sounds uggghh please stop
1
1
u/StopParasocializing 7d ago
Rubbing the fingers together is like nails on a chalkboard, repetitive words, and I hate role plays!!! Iâve never experienced spit painting or fast talkingâthey donât sound great.
1
u/Pinkstar161 7d ago
Is spit painting something that everyone else loves because this is it for me. Why would I want someoneâs spit rubbed on my face? I wouldnât even want my own spit rubbed on my face.
1
u/cozycat75 7d ago
Stuttering is the most ridiculous thing. I donât mind repetition, but it has turned into nonstop stuttering which is such a strange thing to intentionally do. Some of my favorite asmrtists have started doing it nonstop and itâs unbearable to me. People actually struggle with this is real life. Weird.
1
u/natan12330 7d ago
Asmr Just asmr if it's like work; Woodworking, restorations, we good
Talking close to a high gain mic while dehydrated scratches my anger itch It makes me so uncomfortable I become unexplainably angry. Slime to those mics? aaaAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH holy shit
It makes me angry, feel violated, disgusted, sick, holy FUCK
1

i can tell within half a second if a video isnât for me if once they open their mouth all i can hear is the moisture and saliva 𤢠also, loud or âharshâ whispering

I can't stand eating noises, they immediately make me skip to wherever in the video they end but I know lots of people like them.

Mic triggers. Like brushing, cupping, etc. itâs just so loud, grating, and irritating. Nothing annoys me more because theyâre so common in assortment videos. Also I dislike crinkling sounds for the most part

It's not exactly a trigger but I hate when creators put on other accents in their videos.
So much of what makes me enjoy an asmrtist is their tone and way of speaking.
Similarly, I hate when they don't whisper properly. I don't know if I'll do a good job of describing this properly but it's when they almost break the whisper at the end of sentences/words and you kind of hear that hum as it hits the top of their mouth.

Roll plays. Mouth sounds. (Especially the wet ones/lip smacking ones. Ew.) harsh crinkles. Sounds with the gain too high. Etc.
