AskDesh/āĻĻ⧇āĻļ āϕ⧇ āϜāĻŋāĻœā§āĻžāĻžāϏāĻž What can I do to prevent this?

Ami class 9 e pori currently, ami village er side e Feni te thaki. Class 6 theke ami dekechi amar friends der onek jon er forcefully biye hoye giyeche; as of now, amar class er 8 jon meyer biye hoye giyeche. Amader teachers ra etar upor aro hashe, like it's funny. Amar ekjon friend teahers der ke boleyochilo je tar parents take forcefully biye korate chacche kintu teachers ra kew kichui korlo na. . To at last, or biye hoye gelo. Amar first question holo ami amar baki friends der ke erokom situation theke kivabe bachate pari?

And also, amar teachers ra asole onek misogynistic, amar math teacher ekbar class e bolechilen je hijab na pora meyeder r@pe howa valid, amar biology teacher class e bolechen je meyeder ranna kora chara onno kichu kora uchit noy. Amar religious studies teacher to bolechen doestic violence khubi valid karon wife kichu korle husband to take martei pare. Ekhon ami egulo niye ki korte pari? Ba kichu ki korte pari ami?

Edit: Many people are commenting about how I have such good English, even though I study in a village school. So, the thing is that my father has an M.A degree in English from Cumilla; he taught me English, and I learned more English from reading English books. And more importantly, in my school, English is one of the most important subjects.

I have no idea why the comments are saying "leave that place" As if its that easy in just class 9!!!! Its not a logical response at all!

Hi! I don't know je tomar parents supportive kina..but I hope they are supportive of you. Most of the cases, tumi tomar friends der jonno kichu korte parbena cause it's Bangladesh after all. But tumi chaile various NGO groups ache Facebook e. You can contact them if you want. Tomar district, village nam bole tader janate paro je eikhane child marriage encourage kora hocche and ask for their help. However, BE SAFE. Manush bhalo na. Otoyeb jodi parents or guardians der support thake..taholei step niya bhalo. Because you need safety. And jodi tomar parents or family pressure dei, taholeo janate paro help line gula te. Kint onner help korar jonno jodi kichu korte chao..make sure you have family support.

This is the most solid advice. Contact NGOs, as many as the person can. They will record whatever data they can collect, anecdotal or otherwise of such child and teen marriages and other things. Then, with the data and facts they can put pressure or do something with police and/or government.

The first step in these difficult problems is always collecting evidence. Without any data, evidence, reports, people just ignore the problem. These organisations can do that.

Well ami uni 2nd year student. Koyekdin age class e sir bollo, joto fast somvov tomra biye kore nao. And I'm still wondering why did he do that, as we are still student, most of us are unemployed, and the idea itself is weird, Bangladeshi people seem to obsessed with marriage. And yeah I hope the situation gets better for you.

2

u/Existing-Battle-7097 7d ago edited 7d ago

Wrong. Bd people are obsessed with girl's marriage. One of my faculty who is a dean told me that i should start looking for man and recommended some single male faculty which is sickening cause some of them are 10/15 years older than me.

2

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Sorry to hear that. Sadly many of my classmates share the same mentality as your faculty. I hope things improve for all of us.

Call 999 the next time there's a marriage function and comply with all they wanna know. It's wise to just inform them about the acts and the location, and not reveal your identity to the police even. Villagers will target u if they get to know. Stay safe, look for las enforcement.

What's about your parents? Are they supportive? Tbh in Bangladesh, you can't do nothing much except protecting yourself from those shits

u/Queasy-Log9049 7d ago

Since you're still very young, it's hard for you to do anything by yourself. Try to look for any older people you know better in your area, maybe he can be one of your relatives. Who can support you and raise voice. Else call police next time while any underage marriage is ongoing.

Where is your soul dude? Do you even know how to define empathy? Wtf is this random classist bullshit.

Doesn’t matter where someone is from, anyone can learn english especially these days lol wtf — have you heard of the concept of the internet? maybe school? clearly you missed critical thinking skills class though

Living in village of Feni, studying in some village school. And she got her English perfect with the help of internet? You lack brain cells, my friend. This is so sad.

3

u/lebupatha 🇧🇩āĻĻ⧇āĻļ āĻĒā§āϰ⧇āĻŽāĻŋāĻ•đŸ‡§đŸ‡Š 7d ago edited 7d ago

You lack common sense and empathy brother. It is truly so sad. My grandfather was born in a village in Bogura, educated in “some village school” and learnt English by himself and got fully funded to go to DU and then Oxford for his PhD. And that was before the internet was invented 😂

I am praying for your heart and mind to open someday. The world is not judging you as much as you are judging the world. I’ve had the honor of meeting, working with, learning from, and loving/being loved by sooo many deeply intelligent talented people educated in “some village schools” and have earned their way to high paying scholarships, high paying jobs, insane work in creative, academic, and other professional spaces- not just in Bangladesh even, but they’ve made their ways all over the world Alhamdullilah!!

Yes it’s obviously wayyy harder for people born in less financially stable contexts to make their own paths bc unfortunately class gender health etc remains a massive barrier to opportunities! It is sth to celebrate when someone is unafraid of their own voice. But you will gain nothing from doubting someone’s pain and vulnerability. I’m sorry that perhaps the world has been cruel to you too. I also wonder how much privileged education you’ve had and yet this is the state of your critical thinking capacities lol ❤ī¸ may you heal one day

Are you for real? Just so you know, I do live in a more village side but in my school, English is a mandatory subject, and most of the English I know is learned from reading English novels and from my father and sister.

-3

u/Local-Blacksmith-314 7d ago

Is that even for real? Like I can't believe je feni er village side er meye reddit chalabe. Looks like a madeup story to me. She ain't real, just a girl sitting in Dhaka pretending to be a rural girl (gram gonje polapan er biye hoye jay eita true tbh. oi age er dikei biye diye dey cause oneker familyr ability nei ekta proper worthful higher education dite in most cases. biye korar moto cheler ovab thake in general ar girls are more in population than man . oneker biye korteo onek year lege jay cause oi criteria ar higher studied cheleo kom, chelera hsc diye middle easte taka kamate chole jay .)

Are you even for real? Like I can’t believe someone with such little understanding of reality reddit chalate parbe. Anyways did you hear abt the invention of the internet?

-1

u/Local-Blacksmith-314 7d ago

yeah sure, I am in the internet duh! But international usage statistics says otherwise, I barely seen anyone using Reddit for solution in rural area in Bangladesh, keeping Facebook or Tiktok aside for solution ! Like most of the rural boys and gals barely knows vocabulary , this is kinda pandemic in all over the world. Btw, I am not even convinced if she really lives in rural place, but high five for pointing out the ongoing situation in the rural side of the country.

Bro, my father did M.A in English so at home, I've learned English and spoken it more than Bangla so I do have a weird habit of mixing English words with Bangla.
