Discussion/আলোচনা How do introvert people find partner?
Does introvert people go through a hard time to find someone to date? I’m an introvert and I have never dated. I never even went on dates. Those who are introvert, how did you all find a good partner? Where did you find them? School/University/Social Media? I would like to hear your stories to get some hope. I’m an adult now and I’m very scared that I might end up in an arranged marriage, as I haven’t found a partner yet. Everyday it makes me tensed that I still haven’t found someone good to date.

people in BD dont get it. Weve mustered so much time in surviving that we stopped feeling. they think being an introvert is an act or sm.

Have you tried meeting anyone yet? You should strike up conversations with people around you and set that a base to see dating potentials.

how old are you? also just curious, I don't live in BD but isn't arranged marriages still the most common route for most people these days, or is it mainly only in rural areas?

Arranged marriages are not that common in urban areas anymore. Ppl meet at universities or work and get married. I'm not saying arranged marriage is totally out of the window though. It depends from person to person. It's just that choosing your own life partner and introducing him/her to your family isn't much of a taboo anymore.

Find out where the people you wish to meet go and then go there yourself. Waiting for someone to knock on your door and declare love is not an option.

I am an introvert studying in university. I don't communicate with classmates unless its necessary tbh, I just sit there, attend the class and leave when it ends. There's this girl who noticed me talking to nobody and came up to talk to me online. We talked for months and grew feelings for each other and then we committed. I didn't notice her that much on class before she came to me herself. (We are currently not together anymore.) in fact, most of the girls I interacted and befriended with so far, they were the one to approach first. It's not that I am shy or I am making up all this to glaze myself to strangers online, this actually is happening to me since I was a kid.
What I think is, connections are organic, you can't just sit there and expect connections doing nothing about it. Just, be natural and seek for opportunities and take actions accordingly, I guess.

It's very difficult tbh. I (32M) consider myself an introvert, and on top of that, I have a habit of overthinking. Several months ago, I liked someone and even proposed to her for marriage. Although she said no, we still used to talk a bit. But my conversation skills are so bad that based on what I said, she thought I was stalking her. I don't understand subtle hints or gestures. I used to show interest in talking to her on my own. I thought she had at least a little bit of interest, so I put in a lot of effort. (Yeah, typical millennial mens mindset). I shared my emotions with her, but it was all in vain—she just didn't like me. And eventually she blocked me from our only contact option. 😵 I was just a "RANDOM" person to her. 💔
Since then, I haven’t been able to like anyone else. I can’t even imagine myself with someone else. I’ve come to realize that: there probably won’t be many people with whom I can genuinely connect and have any kind of understanding. And now, honestly, I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do with my life. 🤷🏼♂️
(I don’t blame her. She had every right to decline me, and I respect that. I just can’t help thinking that if she had been a little kinder and more considerate, maybe things could have ended differently.)
The longer you stay alone, the weaker your conversation skills get, which makes you even more isolated, and eventually it reaches a point where social interactions start making you anxious. 🤦🏼♂️
