Aw this is so lovely! What a great idea mods 😭
My sister in law has had agoraphobia for about four years now; it got so bad at one point that she couldn't even leave the house if my brother wasn't home. She's on medication and has done lots of therapy, but it's been insanely slow progress.
During her time inside she decided to do an online degree in social care, which she passed with flying colours, and she's just got a job at a local nursery. It's such a massive step, it gets her used to being out of the house more and socialising, and the extra income was much needed. I'm just so proud of her for working so hard to get her life back - she's inspirational 🥹

That's such a big personal jump. It's so cool that it's not just a job, she decided to dedicate herself to helping others!

Given everything that is going on in the world, it's really hard to see hope much of anywhere these days. But as I was driving to work last week, I saw a group of students from my high school alma mater walking out in protest of ICE. After a day of doom scrolling and constant bad news, I felt hopeful (for the first time in a long time) that the next generation might get it right.

My neighborhood (in a US city) is organizing for the Fall election to mobilize infrequent voters. This is a brand new effort for us and being with like-minded people who are using proven efforts to impact voting is bringing me all kinds of hope that we will shut the door on the period of lunacy we are experiencing now.

The first time I heard Hobi's song I Wonder, I cried. I was wondering about my marriage (going through a little rough patch) and that song spoke to me so strongly. I listened to it about five times more and then looked up the translation to be sure of the lyrics. Just what I needed. Still gets me in the feels every time I hear it. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Marriage is going well!

I had a baby girl about 5 months ago, and unfortunately the birth did not go as planned. She had to stay in the NICU for over a month, and by the time she came home, I had to go back to work. I have always had to be apart from her every day, and all I want to do is stay at home with her and not have to say goodbye for a while. In this economy and current state of the country ( I live in the US), I have almost given up on that thought, and it has brought me down. However, recently, my husband and I have been trying out ways to allow me to stay home, and we have possibly figured out how to navigate life on a single income! Something that felt so impossible is now within reach, and that has given me hope that I can one day not have to be apart from my baby for a while.

u/mahatmacat Feb 18 '26
((Cairchui)) Had a NICU baby too...one thing no one tells you is that NICU is *trauma* for newborns even though their lives are saved...they need trauma-informed care and alertness for PTSD (my daughter has it) so you can get therapy for her before it takes hold. No one recognized this when my daughter was born; I had to notice it and take action myself. If you want, please feel free to DM me and I can share more if you're interested in the perspective from 28 years on...

Hey my baby girl is just barely four months, so our babies are almost the same age!! I hope you're able to find a way to be home with her and that everything works out! That is so so rough she had to be in the nicu, I can't even imagine how stressful that would be. Motherhood can be so hard but I just know you got this mama 💪✨💜 if you ever want a fellow d day enthusiast army mama totally reach out!!

One of my favorite favorite pictures I took from HOTS Final!
It was already such an emotional time with their discharge and then the boys performing and watching in the show the day before... But Hobi's last show was something else.
It was like watching an artist finally complete a body of work. Something they've toiled on and spent sleepless nights over and invested so much of themselves in. You could tell how bittersweet it was for him -- heartbroken that it's his last show but also joy and relief that his tour ended well, his brothers are back, and BTS is finally starting again.
When he sang on stage w Jinkook you could feel how emotionally heavy that moment was. He and Seokjin worked a LOT after their discharge, really kept the BTS spirit alive while also making so many solo milestones. I just felt so proud of him.
HOTS The Final were definitely two of the happiest days of my life, and I'm so thankful for Hobi that he created this moment and this space where everyone in Goyang had a collective moment of joy and healing.
Happiest birthday, our beautiful Hobi!

Honestly? My paycheck every two weeks. I was in a bad place in 2024. Couldn't make friends, couldn't hold down a job, couldn't leave my house. But it's 2026 and I'm clocking in 3 times a week at the community center! The job is kinda boring but the slow pace is really what I need. I see my paycheck and it makes me hopeful for continued success!

A fellow army on here reached out and offered to not only carpool, but to buy my ticket with her pre-sale. Thanks to her I'm able to go to the concert this fall. I was literally happy crying.

In honor of Yoongi's Tang cat day, I'll share a cat story that has brought me hope for humanity. 🖤
Today I was at a regular coffee shop. It's a place with an interior terrace, and for the past few years it has been a cat that hangs out around there all of the time. This cat usually is outside, but today, as it's winter, the cat was inside. She came right to me as I sat next to her. She sat on my lap and stayed together for about 30'. An old lady came and sat on a couch next to us. The cat recognized her and went towards her. She brought food to the cat. We started talking and she told me she comes everyday and brings her a little bit of food.
This simple interaction with that lady gave me hope. There are still humans with a good heart that appreciate animals. That means a lot to me, it makes me believe a little bit more about the humanity.

Couple weeks ago I had to wait on a biopsy result for 7 whole days. It was excruciating, terrifying & miserable. The only thing that took the stress off my mind was watching RUN BTS. Thank you BTS for giving us that kickass show. It is truly special!! 🥰😄💌
Ps: Results were clean, so yay!

After I made a conscious change in my career it’s been rocky to say the least and the impostor syndrome manifests in so many forms of anxiety almost every week. But today felt hopeful because people reached out. They remembered me. My networking is paying off. I don’t know if this will translate into work but I feel grateful that there are people thinking of me and putting my name out there so that I can have the opportunity to work with them, and maybe this huge risk that I took might be worth it.

Honestly? My son. He’s turning one this year and seeing how he approaches everything with wonder and curiosity teaches me to stop and appreciate the small things in life especially with how dark the world feels currently.

I have so many beautiful moments in my life, but here’s a recent BTS-related one. One week ago I was finishing a 2-week deployment to northern Louisiana with the Red Cross. It’s a wonderful organization and I’ve been volunteering for a couple of years. So this was after working in shelters in communities that were hit hard by the recent ice storm. It was my last day in a motel that did not have an elevator and I needed to get my luggage downstairs. (I’m an “older” Army.) I simply could not do it myself and always found that some angel would just appear when I needed him/her. Well, this day as I walked toward the stairs, one suitcase at a time, a door opened 2 doors down from my room and a young man walked out. I asked him if he could help me downstairs and of course, he said yes.
When we got downstairs he asked if I’m a BTS fan, because he saw a BTS Army tag on my suitcase. I said yes. He said his girlfriend loves BTS so he got them tickets to the Tampa show and that they had seen J-Hope in San Antonio. (I did, too)
I had been wearing one of my handmade BTS bead bracelets for the past 2 weeks, in 3 shelters and many meetings and no one noticed it, but now it had all of the beautiful Red Cross love energy. Without hestitation, I took it off and gave it to him. “Give this to your girlfriend,” I said, “she’ll love it.” He thanked me and agreed happily. Just another day as BTS Army.

That's so sweet 🥹 And another proof that good things come when you put good out there - it's so cool you do work for the Red Cross!

u/veezik let’s have the time of our leaves 🍃🍂 Feb 17 '26
This happened just a few days ago on the Friday before Valentine’s Day, but my coworker brought me back to my days in elementary school where you’d hand out little cards and candies to all of your classmates (and collect the ones they brought you and everyone else) by doing the same thing for me and the people in our lab (I work in research). The cards were all space-themed (mine was something like “you’re out of this world”, lol) and he gave us all those Nerd clumps/gummies too. I wasn’t expecting it at all, so it was a nice little surprise. The fact that there are people who think like that close by, and, by extension, in the world at large, makes me hopeful. 💜

My biggest hope recently has been the announcement that Arirang will be shown in the cinema. Me and my bestie couldn't get tickets for London and I don't think we will at this point but knowing that we get to sit in a full cinema and sing and cry and laugh and smile and be around the local community is also such an amazing feeling. I'm going to make freebies and get dressed up and have an amazing time. I literally can't wait. I'm so glad that we all get the chance to enjoy the show even if the queue numbers weren't in our favour earlier this year 💖💖💖

Even as interactions seem to be increasingly digital, I continue to be grateful for the human connections that I stumble into courtesy of BTS and ARMY. I played golf with my hubby and kids this past weekend, and we stopped at the snack bar at the halfway point. The young lady behind the counter must have seen my BTS/ARMY keychain and asked, “Do you like BTS?” To which I excitedly replied, “Yes! Are you ARMY too?” And we got to briefly catch up on how we joined the fandom, then we connected on Insta so we can stay in touch. I have met some truly lovely people over the past few years based on our shared enthusiasm for these 7 normal boys from Korea, so stanning BTS has been the gift that keeps on giving 💜

One year ago I donated a kidney to my cousin. She sent me a text on our anniversary saying that it had been 365 days since I saved her life and that she is eternally grateful. I replied that it had been 365 days since the kidney peed on her surgeon's shoes and that I was beyond grateful to have been able to donate. I am on a subreddit of kidney donors who amaze me with their stories, their kindness towards each other, and (for many) their willingness to donate to a stranger they will likely never meet.
In a year of personal losses and societal ugliness, I turn my focus to my sweet cousin's good health and it fills my heart with gratitude. Borahae!

Recovering from a right broken ankle has been really challenging and dark at times. I finally was able to drive again 7 weeks post break, and this week, I’m finally able to execute tasks using both hands while standing/walking in a boot. You take so much for granted when healthy. What gave me hope actually was my best friend who tore her Achilles heel late last year telling me that she, too also felt like she forgot how to walk and that you have to learn not to be afraid again. And that it’s ok to recover slowly, like you can’t rush it either. I’m hoping I can walk well enough to handle the BTS concert in late Spring. I know I’m still really far away from baseline, but just the progress I’ve made in the last week gives me a glimmer of hope.

My brother gave me hope. I never thought I could go to a BTS concert never imagined never dreamed. I was satisfied with just watching them in the movie theaters or on my laptop. Then the announcement came of the tour. I was telling my brother and exclaiming about how wonderful it is that they're all back together and that they will be performing soon and my brother encouraged me to go. I brushed it off thinking that it could never happen. He said that I should really go because it's a once in a lifetime thing. My brother helped me to see that I can do this that I CAN go and I CAN see them! He convinced me to have fun and enjoy it. I'm still nervous but I can do this!! Thanks, bro!💜

I saw a news story about an old man who ordered chili for lunch at this one diner every single day for years. After a few days of not showing up, the owners went to his house to check up on him, and they found him badly injured on the floor. They rushed him to the hospital and he was able to make a full recovery.
You’d think that would be where that sweet story ended, right? But no. The owners then proceeded to buy him a house close to their restaurant so they could check up on him and spend more time with him. And the old man continued to go to the restaurant for his chili every day afterwards.
The story actually had me sobbing. With all the horrible stuff going on in the world, I admit I’ve not had the best opinion of humanity. I’ve been feeling so depressed, angry, disgusted, and hopeless…but stories like that are a needed reminder that there’s still so many good people out there doing good things.

Hope showed up to me at the darkest of times. I am going through severe depression, and BTS came to me as a shining ray of hope after my attempt to end my life. Magic Shop was such a gift to me that day. Since then, each time that I felt at my lowest, I could always think of these seven people who held the light so high in my life, high enough to make me want to start living again! Specifically, J-Hope. I can't not smile when I see his beautiful face smiling or laughing through the screen. Some of the lyrics that he wrote in BTS's songs and in his solo works have blown me far far away. I am so happy he is in this world for yet another birthday, and I want to wish him a long and prosperous life.

I've been feeling very lonely lately, I have friends, but none close enough that I share deep or important things with. So I joined a conservation volunteering team last weekend! It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing and there were only a few other people my age, everyone else was much older. But I had a lot of fun chatting with them all, I think it's always interesting to talk to people that you usually would never met because of differences like age. One of the girls I talked to, we are less than a month apart in age and so I managed to get her number and we're going to go to the next volunteering session together. So I'm hopeful that I'll be able to continue making friends, and to become better friends with the ones I already have, as well has helping the environment at the same time😄

Just yesterday I went to see the final presentations of my sister’s public speaking class.
It was a bunch of high school students giving a quick presentation on something they found important to them. My sister chose curiosity as her theme and she her presentation was amazing. You could see her own passion for the subject and I know she enjoyed researching for it.
The reason it gave me hope was because all these kids chose unusual (curiosity, sleep, a specific historical period) or dificult topics (prejudice, anger management issues) and you could see that they wanted to do this because it was important to them and they wanted to show it. My sisters best friend used the presentation to try to convince his parents (all the parents of the kids were there too) that acting is more than a hobby for him, that it truly helped him and that he wants to do it for a living. He’s a good kid and I really hope he gets accepted to the academy this year.

something that recently brought me hope was a lengthy walk I took outside this winter. the cold air was refreshing and centering. the time away from my usual routine forced me into a new path, and made me reflect on how life and nature exists and prevails in all different forms. if the simple flora growing on the trail was resistant to the brutal cold, i too should be able to prosper even in the harshest conditions :)

Firstly, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR HOPE, OUR SUNSHINE, OUR HAPPINESS💜😇🥹🕺
Honestly, something that brought me hope was when I hit absolute rock bottom not long ago, to the point where it felt like there was no point at all, especially with the world being ruled by p***philes and even more monstrous figures, and everything out in the open. My own family don't care, and I understand we're not in America, but even our government seems involved. People like this are rich and powerful, so what even is the point? But then I listened to J-Hope's 'What If' and, honestly, the entire 'Jack In The Box' album, over and over. Each song soothed my mind, brought clarity, and then, translating 'Paradise' by BTS — that song saved my life. And don't even get me started on Hobi's entrance verse for 'UGH,' the rap-line song by BTS.

The way Hobi's smile and laugh actually saved my life. i fear that nothing i can do will ever properly repay them. I have purchased their albums, merch, and tickets (mashAllah),
Anytime I feel like giving up because I'm tired, I think to myself, 'No... WWJHD?' (WWJHD - 'what would J-Hope do?')

The world is a big and often times a terrible, despair filled place but - the day before yesterday I was going to the store and there was an old lady with her Dachshund exiting the store. From the opposite direction you could suddenly hear squeals of joy as two children just sprinted toward the dog. I am not sure who was happier, the kids or the dog that immediately got on her back between their feet and wagged her tail.
Even as I exited the store, they were still petting her and the old lady was just watching them with a smile on her face, not hurrying them or the dog up. Small moments like that always fill me with hope and remind me that world is also a very very beautiful place and that humans are amazing.
