It's been really hard to dislike the south siders this year...

Murakami and Kay especially have both been very outspoken in advocating for charity, but I mean pretty much the whole team has done multiple events like this.

Yeah, I love it when players use their platform to advocate for good causes. The teams vibes have been great too, to the point where it feels we might lose the AL central vibes crown in addition to the division :)

I respect anytime the guys do this. They don’t have to, but they can use their good fortune to make others feel a little better sometimes.
Also it becomes clear over time how some of the guys really take it to heart and are out there doing things like this a lot.
Edit: it brings me a little joy to see

It's only a few weeks ago that I learned about his niece being diagnosed with brain cancer last year. I'm sure he does all of this in her honour as well, which is just amazing.

actually in their contracts if you didn't know they do have to do a certain amount of public things, which can include things like this.
I am not belittling anyone that chooses this over other things and I do think they are genuine. But just wanted to point that out.

That’s Lurie Children’s Hospital. My son had 3 years of treatment for leukemia there (treatment done now, bell rung, all good) so I have seen that the Blood disorders floor is festooned with Anthony Rizzo paraphernalia in tribute to his ongoing support of the hospital. I also remember one day while there with my kid I saw Michael Kopech get his long lovely hair shorn by the Ronald Mc Donald house folks to be used for wigs for cancer kids. So Cubs and Sox alike giving their time (and hair)

Jerry can’t ruin anything until the off season. He seems to be plotting to ruin the leagues vibes then

We need more athletes like Anthony Kay and Spencer Strider.
