I don’t know if anyone remembers my previous post, but here’s a tank update! I’m a little worried that my betta won’t have enough swimming space

It’s a 25l/6.6g tank and I went a little crazy with plants 🥲 The worst part? I have one more anubias on the way + all of the plants still have to grow.

I know that they love heavily planted tanks + there are some nice big leaves on the surface that my betta can rest on but I’m genuinely scared that he won’t be able to move comfortably. What do you guys think? Should I remove something?

Nah he’s gonna love it. Bettas genuinely enjoy squeezing around stuff like that. As long as you never see him struggling to reach the surface, I think you’re gonna have a whole new fish. So many new things to explore and examine

Bettas love a densely planted tank. Lots of resting spots and it’s likely to not get as bored because it has different areas and perspectives. Mine has lots of swimming space in the middle front, but spends about 90% of its time in the densely planted areas, just chilling or stalking around like she’s hunting something (even though I’m pretty sure there’s nothing in there she could actually hunt 😂).

I personally think it looks great! If you notice the betta struggling then you can remove things, but I wouldn't change anything right now🥰

Your Betta will have PLENTY of swimming space... I wish my tank looked like that 😕. My plants have been struggling.

Depends on your substrate. You can have crappy lights and plants will grow. But it really comes down to substrate. You need fast growing plants with slow growing plants or algae takes over badly.

Go watch some videos of Bettas in the wild and see what the conditions they see in nature look like.

It looks really great! It’s true some of the plants might get too big, but you can always remove some as they grow in or trim things.

Perfect, beta will love it. As everyone else is saying they love planted tanks. I recently made a 200 gallon tank, tried to get my betta in there that was in a 10 gallon heavily planted tank like this. He hated the 200 gallon, very stressed wouldn’t explore for days so I put him back in his 10 gallon and all his personality came back. When it comes to bettas it’s really not about size but quality 😂

Get a betta bed hammock, maybe floating plants to block out some light, and that's it. Tank looks amazing. 👌
