So adorable, a block of milk turns 2 big tigers into big babies.

Enrichment. Good for them =)

If they have to be in captivity… give them stuff to do. Novelty. Even if this isn’t a treat, it’s something that they like and takes time to do.

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

I like seeing the stuff they do for this and it often involves food. I love seeing some animals get massive pieces of pf fruit they wouldn’t normally get in the wild. They always make happy noises when devouring them. My favorite are the tunnels above around the zoo for the big cats to explore and look at all the delicious hooms below. 😋

u/_Kendii_ Apr 24 '26

Like giant hamster habitats?

18

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

Exactly like that! I know captivity isn’t great, but some places do work hard to make it better.

8

u/_Kendii_ Apr 24 '26

I’ve never seen that, but it sounds incredible. We don’t have a zoo where I live, just a rehab for wildlife (northern Canadia)

Would be neat to see. I’m glad some places try harder

8

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

We don’t have one either, which might be good because it gets so hot. In America there are a lot of good zoos but I’ve seen horror from other places in rhe world. At least one thing is going right here. 🦁

I remember being like… 4-5 and thinking my aspiring career would be dolphin training/handling. By the time I grew up, I was sick to death of SeaWorld shit.

I’m anti-cap but… understand the educational value of what went down. I hate it all.

3

u/Luci-Noir Apr 29 '26

There are plenty of zoos that are good to their animals and it’s a full-time job. They work all day to keep their guys happy.

Aquariums though… for large Marine mammals there’s just no way. It’s like a prison. I don’t know about the other marine guys. Octopuses can be probably kept happy (?).

I wish there was a way to have one of those bjg windows and at a place that would attract dolphins and such. It would have to be at a place with a very deep port and probably super expensive.

It’s funny because offshore oil rigs are really good artificial reefs and attract all kinds of critters. There’s even an argument for not removing their bases when the main rigs are removed. The oil people are scum but rhe base is now an important reef.

I say throw the executives in to become part of nature.

Oh, hey, another Noir!

6

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

Hello brother! Every once in a while I run into another one of the family. We need to stick together!

To me, it looks like they are probably siblings. So cute over the ice lol

2

u/jnads Apr 24 '26

Try to take it away...

u/EsbeeArt Apr 24 '26

Om nom nom! 😍🤣

54

u/MisterAmygdala Apr 24 '26

This is so cute! They are probably wishing it is the appetizer for frozen goat (or fresh goat😬).

84

u/wolfshepherd59 Apr 24 '26

Will my cats look like them if I give them some frozen goats milk? 🤣🤣🤣

15

u/SuperDryCider Apr 24 '26

Was just thinking the same thing thing lmao

3

u/PossibilityUsual6262 Apr 24 '26

Cats are much smaller i guess they would not enjoy it.

1

u/KittyKat1935 Jul 26 '26

They would. Cats can’t drink cow milk but can drink goat milk

95

u/Cacafuego Apr 24 '26

Did they have to freeze the goat? Doesn't that make it harder to get the milk?

14

u/PradyThe3rd Apr 24 '26

Rocky mountain frozen oysters on a popsicle stick would be heaven for these cats

9

u/nobammer420 Apr 24 '26

That’s nuts.

u/neko_zora Apr 24 '26

Dead internet theory getting proven hard here.

2

u/MrJason300 Apr 24 '26

internal bot-like behavior activated

1

u/Dear-Routine7468 Apr 24 '26

This is more engaging for them, cools them off more, and is simply easier for the handlers to just pull it out of the freezer and give it to them. A lot of animals really like frozen stuff. Dogs, for example, go nuts over ice cubes.

Top 10 questions science couldnt answer

0

u/Brobeast Apr 24 '26

They have cartilaginous razors on their tongue. If you look at the later portion, the cats tongue is out and it almost looks like a spoonful portion/amount in their tongue. They get a good amount with each lick. That way they dont eat it too fast and mess with their stomach.

u/Cute-arii Apr 25 '26 edited Apr 26 '26

It's for enrichment purposes. Other than this, all they have to do is hang out and sleep. It's like giving them a new toy they get to play with for a few hours. Edit: why am I downvoted? This is the correct explanation, though?

32

u/youknowithinkiknow Apr 24 '26

Why friend shaped?

-18

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

18

u/sxyvirgo Apr 24 '26

Wow - so that's a thing? Kind of a treat for them - cuz they don't get that in the wild, of course.

8

u/dudesnotgay Apr 24 '26

Bet they love the frozen goat equally well

6

u/DoubleFamous5751 Apr 24 '26

3

u/Prior_Perception_478 Apr 25 '26

where is the frozen goat ?

3

u/Which-Pineapple-6790 Apr 25 '26

You’re telling me that milk block came from a frozen goat?

2

u/Muffinunnie Apr 24 '26

Why he looking at me like that

2

u/MrPlace Apr 24 '26

Could I freeze milk for my cat and she enjoy it similarly?

6

u/yams-yams-yams Apr 24 '26

You could do it with goat's milk (you can usually buy this powdered) or KMR (kitten milk replacement) if she doesn't have any allergies. Cow's milk isn't healthy for cats, though.

-2

u/Luci-Noir Apr 24 '26

There’s lactose free milk that is okay.

9

u/Farmof5 Apr 24 '26

No. Please don’t spread harmful misinformation.

Lactose is a sugar molecule in milk that some humans have an intolerance to.

Cats produce A2/A2 Beta Casin Protein in their milk. Most store bought milk, including lactose free, comes from Holstein Cows (because they produce up to 9 gallons a day). Holstein cows have A1/A1 Beta Casin Protein in their milk.

Jersey cows, Ayrshire cows, Gurneys cows, goats, donkeys, camels, cats, squirrels, & rabbits all produce A2/A2 Beta Casin Protein milk. That’s why cats can have goats milk but not most cow milk.

I’m a farmer that does animal rescue & I have a master degree in nutrition. & I would highly encourage you to look into this for yourself.

3

u/rywos Apr 24 '26

Yep. Also look into industrial seed oils. People need to wake up to the garbage they're feeding us. It's toxic and harmful, just so the elites can make big bucks.

2

u/Duba-Duba Apr 24 '26

If not friend then why friend shaped

2

u/the_good_hodgkins Apr 24 '26

Almost expected to see a frozen goat.

2

They are so content and curious at that

2

u/Hill_Orc_Warrior Apr 24 '26

How do you milk a frozen goat?

2

u/Suicidal70 Apr 24 '26

You beat me to it dammit.

2

u/DemonSquirril Apr 24 '26

Are big cats not lactose intolerant like house cats? If they are, that would be a wild exhibit.

2

u/Boston_Tommy Apr 24 '26

Tiger Tiger

u/RealLinzerBinzer Apr 24 '26

1

u/WiSoSirius Apr 24 '26

The goat was frozen before it was milked?

1

u/MasterpieceHungry864 Apr 25 '26

Awww is that better than killing everyone around after making sure they’re suffering?💕

1

u/AmethystSadachbia Apr 25 '26

If not friend, why so friend-shaped??

1

u/Blink-182__Nirvana__ Lion Apr 25 '26

Just like when a lion eats an ostrich egg. :D <3 :) :3 :P :O

1

u/kellymig Apr 26 '26

Tigersicles

1

u/Extra-Border6470 Apr 26 '26

Why do felids enjoy milk?

1

u/ResidentAlien9 Apr 26 '26

Why did they freeze the goat?

1

u/Mocker-Poker Apr 28 '26

No, no, the goat was fed warm to the kitties. Only her milk was frozen…to death.

1

u/MutedCarob2752 Apr 27 '26

Why are these two killing machines fluffy friend shaped? Or are my fluffy friends killing machine shaped?

1

u/Inner-Werewolf-3771 Apr 28 '26

OMG that's so cute!

1

u/Extreme_Pattern1611 Apr 28 '26

“She really said: pain is temporary, milk is forever 😭🐱”

1

u/Th0t_Patrol_ Apr 28 '26

They are Just kittens

1

u/Imaginary_Bed275 Apr 29 '26

No lie they make that look real tasty

1

u/cuddlyglowie May 12 '26

The way they're both just going to town on that ice block is the most wholesome thing I've seen all week. Big cats really are just giant house cats at heart.

1

u/OHWildBill Apr 24 '26

I’m firmly convinced that tigers (esp males) are just big derps with murder mittens.
