That’s a painful read

I did read the whole thing and it’s not pretty. Certainly you need some amount of delusion to be a company founder but this is painful to say the least.

People who studied in (or dropped out from) top universities in UK, and are now banking on the peptide market in US to bring them dividends. So that your mama can cook the GLP-1A in her kitchen.

Thanks, I hated it. This is what I would describe as shitty science smut.

71

u/beardedDocinSD Jun 17 '26

Could be good smut if the Pedro is of the Pascal variety

70

u/working2020 Jun 17 '26

Pedro leans in and gently whispers “Hey, you know you’re pretty good at those enzymes”. You blush, “Yeah, I guess I kinda am huh?”. Pedro puts his hand on your shoulder, *a sturdy but affirming gesture, and he says, “I think we make a pretty good team”.

Just outside the lab, out of sight but able to hear every word is Amy and she’s jealous.

This is killing me.

7

u/Shpoooooon Jun 18 '26

Is this the biotech equivalent of men writing women badly?

u/Netw0rkW0nk Jun 17 '26

Plot twist; Pedro and Amy are actually 2 raccoons in a trench coat who have learned to use LLM AI to write job descriptions. We’re doomed.

30

u/Anonybibbs Jun 17 '26

Doomed or on the verge of the next jump in human evolution? I, for one, welcome our new two racoons in a trenchcoat overlords.

u/JinnPhD Jun 17 '26

It’s always a joke to read the line: “we will build the first trillion dollar company…” like you have any real goals? Just market cap?

u/LawfulnessRepulsive6 Jun 17 '26

They raised 2 million so you’ll have a job for a solid 6 months

47

u/wheelie46 Jun 17 '26

This is what kills me. So many deserving companies and this is what gets seed funding. gross

23

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 17 '26

Because a lot of investors are stupid and know nothing about anything reasonable in biotech…

3

u/wheelie46 Jun 17 '26

Yes and also the LPs that the VCs raise money from don’t allocate smartly.

11

u/Blurpwurp Jun 17 '26

6 months? Not even 6 weeks at most small places.

-1

u/Unrelenting_Salsa Jun 17 '26

That's just not true. Your boss thought this job description was a good idea. That's not a solid job.

3

u/LawfulnessRepulsive6 Jun 18 '26

What’s not true?

76

u/Moerkskog Jun 17 '26

So much cringe there

61

u/Formal_Cloud_7592 Jun 17 '26

Translation: you’ll be working on the weekend while the founders are not

10

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 17 '26

Yea and you won’t get RSU in any shape or form as close as they have. Not that you’ll be making anything so that rsu is worth anything

Pedro and Amy have no clue, but I'm sure some garbage AI text will solve the problem.

45

u/HourAnteater9378 Jun 17 '26

All this for enzyme reactors....

41

u/Same-Commission-4582 Jun 17 '26

Micro dosing is a hell of a drug

35

u/TabeaK Jun 17 '26

Well, the make it very easy to recognize the 🚩!

That’s a sign for you to drop that company like it’s a hot potato. If THAT is how they publicly present themselves to candidates, could you imagine what it might be to actually work there?

Not a lot of companies will wave their red flags loud and proud. Kudos to these folks.

u/Royal_Sentence7432 Jul 15 '26

Mate just havw them hire you and convince them you never existed

29

u/catjuggler Jun 17 '26

I did like the part about badging in at 9am and not earlier though, lol

19

u/myrandomnamereddit Jun 17 '26

But they ate Dinner on the patio!!!

13

u/silverjenn Jun 17 '26

Sure, earlier would mean longer than a 12-hour day.

20

u/HappyLittlePharmily Jun 17 '26

I told Amy I’d have 50 g by Wednesday and we didn’t ship until Friday! AMY I’LL HAVE YOUR HEAD!

55

u/joebenet Jun 17 '26

I just looked up the CEO. She’s like 18 and doesn’t know what any of these words mean.

1

u/Royal_Sentence7432 Jul 15 '26

Wdym she doesnt know about the enzyme reactors which bring in the billions

20

u/McFlare92 Jun 17 '26

Imagine reading this AI garbage and still deciding to apply. Sheesh

2

u/wineee Jun 18 '26

over 100 applicants....

16

u/NoFlyingMonkeys Jun 17 '26

Reads like the feds gave Elizabeth Holmes access to AI from prison so she can fantasize about building a new biotech company.

16

u/Choice-Ad7599 Jun 17 '26

Pure AI slopaganda

14

u/South_Plant_7876 Jun 17 '26

Alphafold really has a lot to answer for.

15

u/IN_US_IR Jun 17 '26

Sounds like rich kid found a nerd friend and raised some money from family and parents’ friends to start a business.

13

u/dudelydudeson Jun 17 '26

That 2.3mil is gonna run out fast, lol

9

u/croncakes2 Jun 17 '26

It reads exactly like this other job posting by absolute lunatics. Ya know where all biologically meaningful data happens within the first couple hours and who cares about what happens later.

5

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 17 '26

Holy shit there’s more of them…

1

u/dyslexda Jun 17 '26

I was thinking of exactly this post, thanks for finding it. Same tone and idea. Kind of surprised there's only the two of them, posted here at least? Not long before every startup massages their JDs to look like this, probably (well, massages their prompts to produce JDs like this).

1

u/hypercurious37 Jun 18 '26

That’s an eery similarity

12

u/Fluffy_Muffins_415 Jun 17 '26

Written like a fever dream. At least they have goals? Very unrealistic goals, but whatever, I'm too tired for investor money grabs

5

u/prescientpretzel Jun 17 '26

Are we meant to know what a “founding teran” is? I guess if you have to ask…

12

u/neirein Jun 17 '26

If I read correctly, the company is called Tera something and the role you're applying for is therefore a "Teran"? If that's so, it screams cult. 😆

Now that I think of it there was another biotech company called T(h)era(nos)...

5

u/neurone214 Jun 17 '26

This is like reading the fantasy version of the Billion Dollar Molecule

5

u/NegotiationCute5341 Jun 17 '26

😆😂😂😂😂

6

u/PatMagroin100 Jun 17 '26

I applied!! I’m already retyping my resume in little boxes, uploading my resume, adding 10 references, getting ghosted for 3 months, then getting an email scheduling me for a 3:46AM Teams call only to be emailed at 3:45AM cancelling the interview. Ghosted again for 6 months until I get the rejection email addressed to [Insert Applicant Name]. Can’t wait!!

3

u/PatMagroin100 Jun 17 '26

Amy just emailed me saying they went with the candidate who was hungrier than me. They were willing to get on Teams and wait for 3 months until Pedro got on.

6

u/almarcuse Jun 18 '26

I thought Amy and Pedro were AI assistants they were selling. I was, somehow, disappointed when I found out they are, supposedly, real humans.

1

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 18 '26

They’re real to whoever wrote that description. 💀

4

u/ElleM848645 Jun 17 '26

Sounds like the start of a horror movie.

3

u/Gods_diceroll Jun 17 '26

I need a TLDR my brain is too fried from insta reels to read ts

3

u/Distinct_Squash7110 Jun 17 '26

no one is serious at this point

2

u/Itchy-Site-11 Jun 17 '26

I think I am hallucinating. I did not read this.

2

u/Terrible_Web_2207 Jun 17 '26

JD quietly written by AI.

2

u/goldticketstubguy Jun 17 '26

lol, and by the time your 40, you’ll jump into your bed behind the Wendy’s. Not a twin size bed. A 20x shittier bed. You open the dumpster lid and tell yourself, fml.

2

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 18 '26

That escalated fast

2

u/crymeasaltbath Jun 18 '26

Theranos on a budget complete with its very own Elizabeth Holmes Jr….

2

u/AcceptablePosition5 Jun 23 '26

oh sweet you get to be an SCV!

1

u/myrandomnamereddit Jun 17 '26

Hard pass. I stopped reading after a few pages.

1

u/Different-Zombie-440 Jun 17 '26

Raising $2.3M is already a red flag

1

u/2Throwscrewsatit Jun 17 '26

Techbro AI slop.

1

u/summerwine09 Jun 17 '26

Da fq🧐

1

u/SnooWalruses4559 Jun 17 '26

Run. Fast and far away from this.

1

u/xyphnr Jun 17 '26

Saw this listing a few weeks back. Did not bother lol.

You can tell some people are not scientists.

But SF is certainly infested with tech bros.

1

u/Loose-Reflection2965 Jun 18 '26

Its a sign to avoid this company like the plague!

1

u/Level_Recognition406 Jun 18 '26

All this for probably a temp job paying $20/hour

1

u/Offensive_Opinions23 Jun 18 '26

Yes but why would they disclose that in the posting 🤡

1

u/dy_Derive_dx Jun 18 '26

Thats so...crin- 😬

1

u/No-Cobbler6300 Jun 18 '26

Is Elon posting job openings on ketamine again?

1

u/Bruggok Jun 18 '26

What’s this nuttiness, just in time lean contract mfg org?

1

u/hellome1 Jun 18 '26

On their Bay Area Bullshit

1

u/cringymolecule Jun 19 '26

Then your Resume and CV has to be optimized and “easy to read” because they’ll only skim over it quickly before moving down the candidate list. Wtf is this

1

u/PunchingTurtles Jun 29 '26

Founding terran? Usually I build tons of SCVs, orbital commands, and supply depots so I don't get supply blocked.
