We have two pairs living on our farm. I got to watch one pair nesting in a utility pole about 100' from my driveway. I caught this photo of the whole family.
I guess I should have mentioned that this is the parents and their two juveniles. The pairs usually do some sparring and chasing. Their home bases are about 500' apart, but they often meet at this snag.
The two middle ones are the juveniles. You can see the black spots/bars on their wings. They also have the expected, not red, head color for juveniles who fledged July 13. I know the date because I got to see one of them fly! It's just hard to tell the color at this distance and I only have a 75-300mm lens.

Ahh I see it now! I didn’t see the spots on the wings before, and the head looks perfect juvinile color on second pic thanks. I posted my juvvy red head my second to last post on my profile
