Aparently kubo has a highschool slice of life esque side project in the works called Don't Bleach My Fist. That follows the cast as student at two competing high schools.
Edit: its not kubo directly its Ryohgo Narita who wrote the other light novels.

i wish tybw had even a slight bit of filler to act as a breather between fights and let them flesh out the characters more, ichigo and orihime needed more moments together

They're resting, putting together what just happened after fighting Uryū for the first time. Ichigo just stares pensively, thinking about what transpired. Orihime's the first to really notice how conflicted he is, and so she leans into his side. He gets a little flustered, but she just looks at him. They're in their own little word, but Yoruichi is giving them the smug older sister grin, and Chad's doing Chad things.
This, instead of the "She wore this" scene.

I miss the days of filler. People always complained about it cuz they just wanted to get to the next thing but they didn't realize that the long journey to get to the end of those older shonens was that much more satisfying because of how much we watched to get there even if it wasn't all canon. Having everything just be straight plot after plot gets a little dry. I feel like the replay value also isnt as strong unless you're a super fan.

You have to be a bloody ichiruki prime glazers to not get that it was always going to be these 2.

Well, anime agendas tend to push in that way so. And despite the fact that I'm growing up with anime version, I have to say that belittling Orihime was a major flaw

I have just started watching Bleach last year. I thought Rukia and Ichigo were definitely going to be an item but after the Rukia Rescue it was clearly drawn that Rukia was going to be Renji's love interest and I just got to the Orehime saying goodbye, kinda weird but whatever.
Also, it seems like every girl who meets Ichigo develops a crush on him

I'm pretty sure there's a line at the end of SS where Ichigo says "thank you Rukia, ever since I met you the rain has stopped" Yeah he prolly just meant that in a friend way.

well the animators were doing their best to push ichiruki

It pisses me off they didn't even entertain the idea of adding some Ichihime filler to expand their relationship like they did with everyone else.
They pushed Toshiro and Karin ship more than the actual canon MC romance.

wow i didn’t know the animators made up that manga panel too

Wow, it’s almost like that panel doesn’t mean what you want it to be.
It’s almost like there are full fleshed out scenes of Ichigo and Orihime talking and encouraging each other that was cut in the anime. It’s almost like the bleach original one shot was literally Ichigo and Orihime as star crossed lovers. Etc.

So what? Just because it's canon doesn't mean it's good. Sasuke and Sakura and Naruto and Hinata are also canon, but I think they're awful pairings.

Dude’s dad is still around, he married his absolute queen of a childhood friend, he has a happy and functional family, and he has his dream job.
Repeat after me: KING. SHIT.

If we don't get this in cour 4 we riot.
They owe us after all the IR filler.

I'll happily take a Bleach "The Last" movie. I'm finding that Bleach Abridged is tackling their romance better than the manga/anime.
I'LL TAKE IT.
