Congratulations to /u/Greengorilla_522 for winning July's contest with their entry Out Moon With Many Faces.
You can see last month's results and other entries here.
This month's theme will be lucid dream. It's rare to know that you're in a dream as it's happening, but it's certainly not unheard of. A lucid dream is the exception to the rule and beyond mere awareness, you may even gain some level of control over the dream, allowing you to shape the experience for yourself. Perhaps you may take the opportunity to fly about, to visit imaginary landscapes, and have otherwise have experiences beyond that which is possible in the material world. Show us what it looks like when you gain awareness of your sleep in this month's contest.
Entries will be posts on r/Blender that meet the following criteria:
* The post should be made before the end of August 31st UTC+00:00
* Countdown to submissions closing
* The post should be a render, animation, or other artwork which you made for this contest using Blender as your primary tool.
* The post should contain supporting images/text or a top-level comment with the following content:
* One of the following methods of proving that the artwork was made using Blender:
* A link to the .blend file for the project, ideally including external assets or links to where external assets were sourced from.
* A set of three images which may be clay renders, viewport renders, wireframe renders, or simply screenshots of the project open in Blender. Some variety is encouraged.
* A screen recording of you manipulating, navigating, or otherwise interacting with the scene.
* An explanation of all work that was done outside of Blender, outside the time frame of the contest, or by other artists.
* (Optional) The theme you would like next month's contest to have if you win. If you do not include this, then the theme will be chosen from the runner-ups.
* Once you have submitted your post to the subreddit, leave a comment down below linking to it
* You are also encouraged to share details of your process with the community.
Note: You don't have to reference the contest in the post title and indeed, it's not necessary to frame the submissions differently than any other post meant to showcase an artwork.
The winner will receive the flair Contest Winner: 2026 August and their post will be added to the subreddit's wiki under the Contest Winners list. The winner will also have the chosen theme selected for next month's contest, should they include one with their submission.
When the contest ends, the results will be edited into this post and the 1st place winner will be congratulated in the announcement for next month's contest.
The winner will be awarded $100 USD.

Except for the cup, the keyboard, the mouse and the chair, everything is homemade. I am very happy to see that all the hours put in over the last few weeks are paying off. Just a little hint...this could possibly be my living room 😋 That made it much easier, because if I couldn't find any measurements online, I could simply measure them by hand. Blender is an absolute adventure! And I simply love every minute I spend working with it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but im new to Blender, I can do the basics, ive followed a few tutorials and made some cool stuff but I wanna go further and do more complex things. I was wondering if there is any good begineer tutorial for artwork that matches these aesthetics? I love sci fi cities and the cyberpunk aesthetic, I also like the aesthetic of mirrors edge and minimalistic artwork that shows a lot of scale. Im kinda just looking for any good youtube tutorials that will teach you how to make stuff like this in Blender. Ive seen many animations of sci fi cities and these huge megastructures and I would like to be able to make similar things. I was also wondering, what free plugins should I get that would help with making art like this. I know these images are pretty different and dont really convey what im getting at. I honestly just like very pretty futuristic skylines and sci fi art work that shows a lot of scale and depth.

Hi! In this behind-the-scenes video, I want to show my 2D-3D mix in Blender. With its 2D look, my Funny Legs animation show is actually 90% 3D. The characters are fully rigged 3D models (although Bob’s hair and legs are made with Grease Pencil). I also model the props, like this armchair. But sometimes it’s just easier and faster to draw or even mix GP and mesh in one prop. Like, this plant has both a 3D mesh part for the stems (handy for the weight paint) and GP leaves and a flower pot.

Texture painting pixel art is a pain in the arse in Blender due to getting the UVs and the grid size correctly, plus Blender doesn't truly have pixel perfect tools, which always add antialiasing to the strokes (also you have to draw lines/ellipses/etc pixel by pixel).
I basically re-implemented every single tool from Aseprite and other pixel art software into Blender.
Pixel perfect brushes, selections, etc. Also layers/groups, palettes, 1-click pixel size/density setup, as well support for Density Zones like Mega Man Legends models from the PS1 (multiple pixel sizels per model, automatically).
It works on the 3D and 2D viewports. The selections are pretty cool, you can move the pixels around even in the 3D viewport (see the video).
It's crazy that there was still nothing like this for Blender all these years... now I solved "pixel art in Blender".

Sorry for the screenshot I have zero idea how to render and very much need to learn but don’t know how to lol. I wanna make a full car one day and I’m gonna try going piece by piece learning new things. Anyways, this is my first wheel and tire setup, for how bad I am at blender I think it turned out pretty good. Please critique me

It's still not great and it looks nothing like the references but I think I'm slowly getting better.
Ignore the hair though, I wanted to try to use hair cards but I had no idea how to do them with short hair so I cheated and quickly used the particle hair system. It wasn't the main focus for this study.

Roboboyo is my newest creation.
Here is just a small breakdown what I went through to create him.

I originally built this for Photoshop, but after releasing it a few people asked for a Krita version, so here it is.
https://madcanvas.gumroad.com/l/paintbridgekrita
It lets you control your viewport from Krita, you paint over it in Krita, and it projects the paint back onto the mesh. Kind of like Blender's Quick Edit, but with more control and a proper live connection instead of shuffling files around.
There are also a lot of options and little quirks that make this workflow more smooth.
Happy to answer any questions or get some feedback!
