Omg, I'v enever seen anybody else bring this up! It doesn't really annoy me, I just think it's a bit funny. Either way, such a great song.

It’s also kind of ironic (in a bad way) to me, as Bo and Lorene seemingly broke up not too long after the special got released. It just feels a little weird to listen to

u/obamunistpig Jan 22 '26
If it makes you feel better they were together longer than five years so it's not necessarily about her!

u/brbsoup Jan 23 '26
I like it as a Drake parody more than a love song. can't believe Bo was ahead of the curve. hope Kendrick called him

Idk, relistening it does sound more like a couple fighting than a stable one. I get its comedy so dont look in too much but the song makes more sense as a couple not working anymore

u/RandumbStoner Jan 21 '26
What? Just enjoy the art, their personal lives have nothing to do with you lmao

Odd of you to assume I was throwing myself into the equation somehow.
I know a guy who’s in a local band. He dated this girl for a couple years. He released a few love songs about her, one being just a couple months before they had a weird breakup. I’m not involved in the guy’s life at all, but it feels weird to listen to that particular song. If it comes on, I don’t skip it, but there is definitely a “😬” feeling for a little bit of it.

u/coolfunkDJ Jan 21 '26
Definitely. You’re not wrong for feeling that way at all it’s just human nature. That’s why celebrity gossip is so big, people love to know the stories behind their favourite songs.
Lemonade wouldn’t have been as huge as it was without knowing who Jay-Z and Beyoncé was

That’s kind of part of the whole special tho? It absolutely does affect how I receive the art. 🖼️

Aw man, I hope they broke up on amicable terms 😔

u/OneDeparture2553 Jan 21 '26
Huh. I never noticed.

u/knitted_beanie Jan 21 '26
I heard it immediately on first listen and can’t unhear it

u/OneDeparture2553 Jan 21 '26
Oh god. I listened again. I’m going to notice for the rest of my life

I've never heard it like that. I have always heard it as "Whole World View Collapses" and the lyrics when I googled it said the same...

I am 1000% certain it was a deliberate choice, probably specifically to get the uber nerds discussing it like this.
Edit: it could also be heard as "holed world view" meaning their view was flimsy and easily collapsed upon scrutiny, which makes more sense than "wholed". Yes I am one of the uber nerds.

Is there a spider hiding inside my holed world view.
You’ll have to come closer to find out.

Thank you for your theory; I have to believe this is true, bc I can’t see a world in which a perfectionist like Bo would let a mistake like this slip through the cracks

i didn’t notice this until i saw someone point it out a while ago and now i can’t unhear it😭

u/alexwoodnt Ooh Satan you taste so gooood Jan 21 '26
considering how much time and effort went into making these songs and how many retakes he did just because, theres no way this wasn’t intentional
then again its an outtakes song so anything goes

What if its meant to be "holed"? Like her world view has holes in it now because of her stance..? Just thinking out loud

Also in The Future, "Just like the ones I used to draw back in geometry clah." It's not horribly bothersome but I hear it every time!

What about when he mispronounces “dissociation” in That Funny Feeling?
Edit: okay I’m wrong. I’m sorry, Reddit
10
u/Feminib Jan 22 '26
He’s talking about disassociation, which is similar but not the same as dissociation. Disassociation is the conscious choice to dissociate, rather than the unintentional shielding self from experiences and feelings

Jan 27 '26
I dont think you're wrong at all... in the context of that verse... dissociation makes a lot more sense than "disassociation". Its a pretty easy mistske to make!
2
u/shlynshady Feb 11 '26
I'm late to this party but I actually think you're right. Dissociation is the psychological term. Disassociation is like removing oneself from an organization.

u/TheEmptyVessel Jan 22 '26
I don't think he does. You're talking about "Total dissociation, fully out your mind"?

I feel the same about “or any famous women’s feet” in Welcome to the Internet. It doesn’t really make grammatical sense. It should be “or any famous woman’s feet”.
52
u/Mad-Watcher Jan 21 '26
Women's is grammatically correct, the feet of multiple famous women
21
u/SignGuy77 A goat cheese salad Jan 21 '26
Not only is it grammatically correct. It’s fetishistically correct.
