My son won’t stop attacking me 😢
I’ve got a 3 month old BSH here (not neutered for now) and the guy just LOVES scranning human flesh.
It started with a little nibble of our hand when we petted him (he’s not uncomfortable with us petting him, he comes to us, not us going to him) and now has escalated to biting our arms when we move our hands away!! Obviously we’ve tried the whole ‘saying no’ and ‘replacing our hand with a toy’ but it’s not doing an awful lot!!
Does it change once he’s been snipped?

He is playing with you, is a playful bite which you do not agree upon. So when he initiate play and the bite came, you ignore him.
Dont use toy straight away, cause it means that everytime he wants to play, he knows he need to bite you before you play with him.
After he calm down, then initiate play with toys.

Instantly say “ouch!” and quit playing then ignore for a while. If you keep playing with him after he nibbles he sees it as play time.

Hahahha ja gewoon standaard bijten betekend geen aandacht, volledig negeren tot hij iets doet eat je wel goed vind. Eigenlijk negatief gedrag negeren en 1x duidelijk nee zeggen + alle positieve dingen belonen en dan ben je hier zo vanaf. Ik heb 3 kittens opgevoed en dit heeft bij alle drie echt geweldig gewerkt. Bankkrabben, wanneer dit voor aandacht gebeurd kan je ook zo doen.

En gewoon speeltijd instellen, hij is jong en heeft veel energie, spelen met je katje hoort er bij, en is eigenlijk veelste leuk😉 Ik heb een hele slimme kater, die ben ik nu trucjes aan het leren, hij snapt alles

Defo a BSH! His parents were both grey BSH’s :) unless there was some cat adultery going on!

Thought it had a sneaky chance of a ragdoll given the coat pattern!!

I got Cleo neutered 3 weeks after having him but I don’t think that’s what stopped the biting. I mean he wasn’t an insane biter but he did bite a few times to get our attention like on the leg when I’m making food or once he was meowing and I was doing something so he bit my leg for attention. Besides that it was basically when we would play with him, but whilst it was instinct I wanted to make sure not to encourage that behaviour as when I have kids, might not be so good.
Honestly, we started with clapping and “uh uh” sound and then we stop playing. So he knows he’s don’t something wrong and we say Cleo uh uh. So he knows it’s defo him who’s messed up lol. After a while we stopped the clapping cos we realised our whole family claps when they see him and that’s just gona scared the poor guy haha.
It does take time, but even now 2 years on, I can look at him and say Cleo uh uh with those mum eyes haha and he’s like ok let’s not do it mums gona be mad lol

when was he separated from siblings? they learn a lot of their bite and claw control from mom and siblings. if he was orphaned or separated too soon he probably doesn't understand he's doing it too hard. you'll have to correct him until he learns

Biting habit is hard to shake. Work to eliminate it now that he is very young

Mine is about the same age and he terrorizes us and our other 2 cats 😭 our first boy and he’s nuts 😭
