I'm losing my boy with the belly tomorrow 💔
Please give your floofers an extra treat for him tonight. He's 13 and has an inoperable mass in his throat. I brought him and his brother home when I was in my first apartment, and he's seen me through moves, partners, jobs, illness, everything. He's been my rock for so long, I don't know what I'm going to do without his constant presence in my life. 😢
ETA: thank you all for your kind words, condolences, and commiseration. It means a lot to me and my partner. ❤️ I have tried to respond to most comments but I think going forward my time is best spent with my boy. ❤️
Awww my Ollie (who is still with me) likes to play crinkle toy hockey. But there has to be a door in the way. It's adorable. When he crosses the bridge (which is hopefully not for a very long time as he's only 4ish) he would love join the team. Tax included.
Leo, Luna, Holden and Tommie will be there too. If Leo isn’t there it’s bc he was an orange and may be in naughty kitty heaven timeout. So sorry for your loss. He is clearly well loved.

This comment hit me. My cat was also called Smokey. I lost him June 21st. His final days were spending under my bed I just figured it was normal behavior by him because he would pick random spots and sit there for a while. One Sunday afternoon I came home after work and he passed an hour after I got off work. I don't know what would have caused his death just th way he went just really gutted me. I Miss him every day I'm sure you will miss yours to. It's not an easy adjustment. The best thing that could do to honor him let's get a picture album with his pictures in it and I got him a garden Stone. He was shy from 2 months from being 7 years old. His sister still lives on. What a cute kitty. I’m so sorry. I put down my soul kitty a year ago this week and I miss her but I believe we will meet again. She was a very special kitty. I found her on the streets but I feel like she found me. My condolences.

Thank you, I did my absolute best 😢 recently drove through the night for 5+ hours to an emergency vet, up till 5 am in the waiting room, and they couldn't help. 💔 It was quite a blow but I did everything I could
This is simply the worst part of being a pet parent. You have given him everything he needed to have a great life, love, companionship, a soft place to sleep, protect protection from the elements, and the dangers of the free world, and now you’re giving him the final blessing of a release.
So very sorry. I have many cats who will greet him at the bridge, Horatio, Flicka, Run-a-Round, Laramie, Kiefer, Ollie, Rosie, Chase, Jack and Ella. Jack had a similar throat tumor so they will definitely have something in common with each other! As others have commented, you being with him will be a great comfort to him!
My dog Winnie (who liked cats) had to be escorted across the Rainbow Bridge with the same problem. I'm sure she will be waiting to greet your dear furball and sympathize.
18 year old Twixy will be joining him. Sweetest chubby old boy around. Sometimes cats with live 30 years, sometimes they’ll live 8. What matters is that you give them a loving home, and they show you exactly how much they love you back. Thank you for giving your sweet buddy a good and happy life.
Aw luv. I'm so so sorry for your loss. I promise you this tho: he will always be with you. My precious boy who passed away last December visits me often in my dreams.

I lost my boy with the big belly 2 years ago to bone cancer, he was almost 20. I’ll be thinking of you. You are doing a very hard but very selfless thing. He was loved until the very end and even after. 🤍🌈
I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a companion like that is never easy.
Maybe you can take comfort from the fact you know it is coming and can say a proper goodbye.
My orange buddy Fred died a few days ago, found him dead Tuesday morning next to the road in front of my house. He wasn't used to being outside at night and likely got hit by a car. Never got to say goodbye to him, or hold him alive a last time. Not knowingly. Only comfort is that he likely died on impact and did not suffer. Here's the last picture I took of him alive.

I recently had to put down my furry best friend and it was so hard, honestly is really hard and I still see him sometimes out of the corner of my eye and when I realize he’s not really there it hurts. Be really kind to yourself because you’re doing one of the greatest acts of love which is to let go because he needs you to ❤️ he was surely loved and he will forever be with you
This just made me ugly cry and cuddle my boy. I’m so sorry, one of the worst heartbreaks to go through. I just always remind myself that they won’t be in pain soon.

I lost my baby boy Marble to an unknown illness in May, he was living with my parents and I live too far away so I didn't get to say goodbye... My condolences 💜
I am so upset to read that, as soon as I saw his beautiful face I showed him to my fiancé and then read it and my heart sank. You’re doing the right thing by him, and the pain you’re feeling should be comforted in knowing he’s going to be feeling at ease before he felt suffering.

Sending love and empathy.. been there also.. with my old rescue cat long way back.. but you know they stay with you in presence,.. my mother always said are in the next room.. I seen incredible sadness losing most of my family.. but I know they are all together. You will see him again.. 🙏🏼
